I agree. I make videos on other topics, but the main idea is to keep this stuff out of landfills and gain more knowledge on how to repair and fix stuff. Thanks for the video--boots look great!
Thanks for this guide! This brings back fond memories of when I was a kid and my Dad would clean his leather boots that he'd had for years. 15 something years later he's still got those boots. I hope to make my boots last as long as he makes his last.
It’s a video about boots. The description written in English is a clue. Going to school will help u to learn words. No amount of education though will cure stupidity.
I am a leather repair professional. DO NOT IRON OR STEAM LEATHER. - high heat shortens the life of your leather. Leather is 98% collagen protein fibers that that begin to suffer damage at 145° F. It is permanent damage that causes the fibers to shorten and tighten. An iron on the cotton setting is 150°to 200° F and steam is 212° F. The short-term results come at a long-term cost that you may never connect intuitively. But the fibers you subject to heat are the area that is subject to the most stress from bending.
Thank you! I was able to order the right materials and got all my leather shoes ready and looking brand new for the holidays! Happy I don’t have to buy new ones.
Hi, i just to confirm, in this video you're using these items: 1. Saddle soap 2. Leather conditioner 3. Learher cream (to fix small cracks) What is Lanolin for? Is that another item you use or its already contains in of the 3 items above? Thank you
Ive always used laundry detergent to clean then use hair conditioner with coco oil in it for conditioner and beeswax with boiled lindseed oil as the waterproofer. When ive covered the boots in the waterproofing stuff i take a torch and hit them with a flame to melt all the wax and burn off any string stragglers while brushing with a softer brush.. has worked for me. Aside from the coloring part. Never used any pigment on any boots. Eventually they just have a darker color to them from the wax but never really even cuz i dont spend a lotta time on em..
I have a pair of old shoes and wanted to treat them at home with the available stuff but almost everything you used are specific. I think I should just polish them before going to the party.
I tried ironing the wrinkles on an old pair of 90s loafers. It turned out much better than it was before, thank you. Would it work on my car's leather seats? There are some wrinkles made by child safety seats.
Something about this video *Muah❤️* Felt like getting messaged. Watching those boots get restored was like heaven! If you can fix up some more higher boots (cowboy boots, harness and the such) next that would be great!
I don't have any experience cleaning leather shoes. I only wear leather shoes and clean them by myself. Today I thought I might need to change the process of cleaning. Because i might be doing it wrong. After watching this video i was stunned. I was applying the same process as in this video. The thing which was missing was saddle soap.
I’m 15 but I value my leather boots so much, I practically live in them, I also plan to take care of these into older years as I want to possibly pass them onto my kids Also I know it’s cringe coming from a 15(almost 16) but I bought these so I could keep them forever
Great vid man. Short n sweet- So I recently bought my 1st legit pair of authentic leather boots, theyre new, and im not a rancher lol... so My question is do i just skip to the last step and apply the wax directly to the dry leather surfaces>? and how much should i be rubbing in per , lets say square in"... like a dime's size >?
I just got a pair of leather boots and was following the steps in the video, and I guess my iron runs hot because after the de-creasing process the color has changed in those areas. Any ideas on how I can get them back to a uniform brown?
Excellent presentation. Same situation w my boots exactly. Thanks. Now in addition to that. Can we get that firm stiffness back somehow? Is that an additional process?
Very impressed - especially with the crease removal process! Any advice for me? I want to potentially dye red full grain (or half grain, I can't tell!) soft 1980s leather lace-up boots from a dull straight red to an oxblood colour. Here in the UK there is an array of dye products to pick from, but I think perhaps a stain would be better than a vinyl dye, which only covers the leather. Is there any prep I should do? Appreciate any advice.
Hey dude that was awsome tips but can you tell me what is the brand of watch youre using i like the style of it and im looking for something like this a long time
I do it just with any hair conditioner (in white color). Just brush, clean n apply the hair conditioner. For strong marks in the leather u can get it off even with a school eraser. But you needa know that doin it ur shoe leather color may change. In my case from yellow mustard to caramel, that is, get darker.
I am looking into purchasing name brands that are used and restoring them. I submitted information but it didn't appear my category fit. I am willing to buy your affiliates in a kit, but am confused. pleased assisted. Noted (my 9 year old daughter took over this account) she did then videos- not me. Love your humor.
Hello! I bought a new pair of shoes and their to tight. What could I do to loose the material? I saw some methods on RUclips: putting them in the freezer, etc. Thank you
Warning, do not attempt this ironing the wrinkles out technique on any shoes you love. I just tried this on a nice pair of Loake brogues; ruined. Blotchy patches all over. Thank you RMRS, result!
Hey Richard! I'm so sorry to hear that the ironing method ruined your shoes! Have you tried conditioning them after the iron to see if it would take away those blotches?
My husbands boots are drenched in diesel. I have been scrubbing them with dawn dish soap and bar soap with a plastic bristle brush. They’re setting out in the sun to dry. Should’ve watched this video first 😵💫 Hopefully they’re salvageable.
Hey Antonio, This is not related to the video. But I think it would be interesting to see a video where you discuss how to deal with upward momentum in your career. I was recently hired/promoted to a management position and in the middle of a huge transition to boot. I often feel unqualified, like I lack the practical experience or under educated. Even with all that considered I couldn’t turn down the opportunity. However I want to make the most of it and I’m definitely not incompetent. How would a young man go about getting through this phase with style and confidence?
The iron destroyed my shoes too. I think it works very well if your shoes are black or dark brown like his. Mine were lighter ones and they got a dark brown stains on them 😞

This is gold. Specially nowadays when people are used to throw stuff away and buy more. We need to start reusing and learning how to repair our stuff.

This is amazing - never saw using iron to remove the creases. Thanks!
I was thinking I could maybe use one of those new steamers instead?

RMRS covering shoe/boot maintenance! Nice, I could have sworn this topic was a little too "shoey" for this channel.
Does this apply to Kenneth Cole Leather Sneaker ?
I need these products.
Great video 👍👍
I like the distressed look to be honest. Just seems to go with the brown so well, and adds some age and character to them.
Yeah creasing is part of the natural aging process of leather, looks good to me tbh 🤷
thanks for giving me a grate idea while i was watching your video !)))
Do you have links to any of the products used?

Can this work with cowboy boots?

Will it work with those swade (is it how they are spell) boots too?
The iron destroyed my shoes too. I think it works very well if your shoes are black or dark brown like his. Mine were lighter ones and they got a dark brown stains on them 😞
