I am a professional photographer (really) that stopped watching "photography" videos. Stumbled upon your videos and can't get enough. I think it's more your humor(dry) than the info since I'm good on my equipment (still interesting though). Thank you. I enjoy your candidness.
Yeah I learn nothing as I would never put a 0.95 Laowa on my C70 where RF glass lives. Still I enjoy this as he speaks my language the way I wish I could.
For someone who initially fingerpointingly introduced the toneh currency in background blur you turned into one T-addict yourself pretty fast. Wouldn't be surprised if T. Northrup introduced a 1.2th of a KASEH soon in return...
Truly a Northrupian accomplishment. Now give us auto focus at this Tonehature. If Sigma can give us AF at 35mm 1.2 that’s actually usable on the A7siii…. We can dream of 0.95 AF.
I used to foolishly think you had to focus on the things you were shooting. So freeing to realize nothing needs to be in focus but my mesmerizing eyes.
I’ve always liked this version of you mr. conspiracy. Calm, no self putting down remarks, yet still witty. Love the lens and the informative comparisons.
This is a great Laowa lens. But I have a difficult problem that this won't fix and I wondered what your advice would be. Currently I have a Hubble Telescope which is toneh 24. Should I keep this or get the newer James Webb which has a toneh of 20. My budget is 5 billion US dollars. I know you want people to tell you what they use lenses for; my main use is birding.
He would definitely pick the Webb, it's only 14,300 lbs as opposed to the hefty 24,500 lbs of the Hubble. He may have the monkey strength, but his pipe cleaner arms are going to start getting unsteady after holding up the Hubble pretty quickly.
I was frowning for most of the video thinking, "What is he DOING here?" Very gradually this turned to a smile. In the end, I got it. And you are utterly and absolutely correct. I'm in.
Despite being overweight, the Laowa looks mighty sexy! I have a Fuj, and am tempted by Laowa’s APS 33/0.95. I already have two other Laowa lenses: 9/2.8 and 65/2.8 2xmacro, and they are great.
It's a pretty impressive lens until you get really close up. Minimum focusing distance is NOT where this lens lives. But step back a bit, you get bokeh at a distance to subject that other lenses can't. That's where your best comparison would be.
One of your better videos, that nature preserve has possibilities. If things get slow any chance we could see the Zeiss there? I picked up a Contax Zeiss 80-200 F4. I really like for that 3D pop. Maybe you could toss in a few vintage lenses.
@@andersistbesser: Of coarse you assume he edits the audio, but I don't make assumptions, I simply ask questions to get the correct answer. No assumptions or guess work required this way.
After some experiments, I’m convinced that the best measure of TONEH is not the focal ratio (0.95 vs 1.2) unless you keep the focal length equal. I use the physical aperture diameter a = 35/0.95 = 36.8mm as the measure. For example, my 56/1.2 = 46.7mm Fuji lens will produce more Toneh, although not nearly as wide, especially with APS crop. You can do your own experiments. Do headshots outdoors with different focal length lenses and blur a distant (near infinity) background. My 55-200mm zoom has great toneh at a = 20Omm/4.8 = 41.6mm aperture diameter. It’s pretty similar to the 56/1.2 for toneh, IMHO. Maybe try this sometime with ur lenses. Could be a good video.
question for you since I've watched the DPReview for this lens and they didn't show it or talk about it... but the APSC version of this lens has a very distinguishable ring-like lens flare when wide open and directly into the sunlight. It looks like the lens didn't have it in your review either. I just wanted to make sure since I'm a broke non-sponsored MOFO and $400 vs. $900 is a big deal to me. thank you! and keep up the funny, honest, great work up!
This guy f*cking around is better than me on my best day. I do appreciate the loss of the top of your head in most of the shots for the full toneh effect.

The 'Toneh' joke can get confusing - between the F stop, Toneh, and T stop (the actual light exiting the lens and hitting the sensor).
Hey Kasey maybe you should give this video a check I'm sure you'll like it (I hope so)
ruclips.net/video/F95_AqVfWyY/видео.html
Oh dang! lol! You crack me up bro! Love your videos!
You have reached peak Toneh in your first existence. The time has come for you to be reborn with your new name, Kaseh.
With great Toneh comes great responsibility, used it wisely….
So much Toneh! Step backwards an inch and we might have lost you Into the Northrup Void! A pretty good lens! Best for photos!
Northrup void!

I love how you always have that face expression as if you are about to bust out laughing your lungs out every 5 seconds 😂
Yeh is funny. 🙂
I love that expression! LMAO!
These are exactly my thoughts 😅
That’s the marijuana
I'll be honest, that slow-mo butterfly footage was trippy as hell at f.95
Dreamy and creamy toneh!
We’re reaching Tony Northrup levels of Tonehature. Walking a dangerous line there
that butterfly footage was actually one of the coolest things I've ever seen
You've achieved so much Toneh that Chelsea will want the 2 of you to fight over her.
I'd only buy this lens because they gave a review copy to the greatest cinematographer on earth

Whoa. That toneh is so swirly! I love it! Has a lot of character. I want it... NOW.
“…a 95th of a Toneh.” That’s some science there.
Dude you are a genius. First video I see of you, because I just got this lens for stills shots. And I can say I enjoyed a lot your style. GG
Toneh Montana - Say Hello to my little friend 😎
"People will respect you because you have a blurry background"

damn. That shot of you crouching amongst the tall grass, the separation looks really good for a 35mm.
"0.95 on full frame that’s nothing, it’s easy to work around”
….
“Unless you have eyelashes”
What a champ 🤣
I’ve always liked this version of you mr. conspiracy. Calm, no self putting down remarks, yet still witty. Love the lens and the informative comparisons.
Every other youtube video: tries photography with this lens.
Ma boy camera conspiracies: tries vlogging❤️ exactly the content i needed!!
The first shot of you beside the tree had some really nice and pleasing separation going on with some beautiful bokeh balls 🙂
Maybe you should try a 105mm macro lens with that distance, more Toneh....

in awe of the butterfly edits. You certainly have pried opened a new horizon there!
Dude wtf I've never laughed at a camera gear video as much, instant subscribe hahaha
I come for the review and stay for the toneh
“0.95…does anybody need that?”
Tony Northrop needs that.
CBS Sideline cameras were Toneh Crazy during NFL Browns-Chiefs. Great game scary toneh.
I actually dig it. Love that near swirl dreaminess of the toneh. Reminds me of my Voightlander Noktons at toneh 0.95
4:34 That toneh!
I must have the Toneh!!!!
You are the only one that should be allowed to review camera gear, period.
you should be in movies man.. fricken hilarious!
You are hilarious! Great video… so informative & fun!!! The video sequence with the bee, butterfly and pigeons was amazing.
“Unless you have eyelashes” 🤣🤣🤣
Wonderful "Napoleon Dynamite" vibes. Loved it.

Love the green screen look of min focus distance 😂
Looks interesting!I am lokking for such this faster lens mostly for portrait, how it compares TTArtisan 50mm f0.95?
Hey it’s getting hot in Australia that means you will get very cold soon, good luck
I can't imagine how you focus .. I already struggle with the sigma 1.8 or the sirui anamorphic 1.8 on the FUJI X-T4 ! lol
Have you watched Army of the Dead?
You could do a review of all the tonehs in it.
Good healthy laugh i had watching this one. Thank you VP
time to add a black pro mist filter to make it more CINEMATIC

Its basically a 85/1.8 but with a much wider field of view.
@@pauls1ngh 🤦🏿♂️😂
@@michaeltsui3435 more like 85mm f/2.3; I did some math
The Toneh Kings New Clothes!
Buttery smooth fave
do you still have the cat?
Just pull erverthing out of focus to maximize Toneh! Boom! Job done!
It looks lovely, very very movie style but you definitely need a good focus puller 😁
You've been enthusiastically thumbed up, great video.

I am really diggin that new mic you're using, it gives you that radio voice. Do you edit the audio or is this a straight recording?
Cheers 🍻.
Of course he edits it. Its not hard if you know how you do it

Is this best content you say? You are the best content, ooh i found grace under your bokeh lights.
my first video on this channel and im already laughing my ass off
That freak lens looks like an 85mm 1.8. 😳😳😳
I wonder what strength ND would be needed to achieve proper exposure in sunlight at 1/50th - 24fps?
The Blurrrr master show!
I rather take the Sigma 35mm f/1.2 DG with AUTOFOCUS for just 60 % more.
Wild 🤪 Lens!
I'm still using Micro 4/3 though 😁
Micro _loser_ 4/3 😂 (I have one too, I always feel attacked when he says it haha)
Beautiful footage.

Enjoyed it. I have subscribed to your channel. :-)
Great honest review!

Nothing beats the Fuji squirrel 🐿.
The Toneh is with you...
What's goin on in Canada? If there is Hair-on the Crains, how do they fly???
The most common attribute of any vlogging lens... you will wonder if you are in Focus or not.
Dope track btw
Voightlander 29mm F/0.8... 🔥
Did you move to the UK?
Why is the nature box British in Canada?
Have you posted a review of the Voigtlander? Am I being a total fool, I can't find anything in your back catalogue?
It is known that a Toneh 0.95 lens at minimum focus can produce a Toneh singularity. Be very careful. The universe may disappear into the Toneh.
Btw T-stop is not the same thing as f-stop. I guess this Laowa could be T1.2, being f0,95
"She eats pork." amazing

Watching this video at 240P, the lens looks great 👍😂👍 talk about Toneh🤣 for this lens sharpness is just a word🤔
I don’t do video shooting, only photography for friends traveling to the mountains. Watching your videos because of your equipment sarcasm.
