I must say you've been spoiling us lately AM, great work as always
An interesting observation that the tendency of medieval Renaissance artists to portray ancient battles with anachronistic armament was a deliberate choice to emphasize that what was will happen again. I previously assumed that they were simply unaware of how these things changed throughout history.
Masterful presentation. Large thanks for the insights. Glory to God. ☦️
It brings me much joy to hear AM reading from the Douay-Rheims.
That was deep. Lots to think about and will probably need a re listen. Excellent thank you AM
There’s a new Discord channel set up for deeper AM discussions. Hoping to link it during a livestream one day.
@@ajsj Might try that, already downloaded the article cited. I might end up being quite 'high brow' one day.
I greatly enjoy and appreciate your channel, as a boy living in Ghana , great work i must say
The volume and audio is really good on this one
That's, Altdorfer's Alexanderschlacht for the uninitiated, including myself. Thanks for the wonderful video, AM!
Loving the regular content.
Truly a masterful work, thank you AM, God bless you.
That Altdorfer portrait was so epic I just ordered a poster of it!
Wonderful video. Was always intrigued by the Fifth Monarchists whenever I delved into English history of the mid-1600s, this has definitely helped better place them in a broader historical context for me.
BRAVO, BOLD TOPIC
Can anyone tell me the name of the painting in the intro which shows the Virgin (I think) being spoken to by an angel carrying a sword. It is remarkable! Would love to know the artist.
What time stamp?
Second and only 18 minutes late, I do not get it how are we getting so much? I was a dog eating scraps off the table and now I am a Mastiff chomping on a lovely steak.
The Apocalypse happens every day.
Edifying.
What is the introduction song?
In for lucky number seven. AM your channel is highbrow, without trying to be.
13:20 woah there! shared western sensibility? jumping the gun a little, it'd be a few centuries until there's any west, maybe a shared greek sensibility, but not western.
