    I believe the BCM and ECm firmware is the same between the classic and new gen. My 2021 Classic 1500 didn't throw any ABS codes or issues after changing the tire size

    After you do all this setting modification, can you remove the bypass and obd2 dongle from the truck?

      Yes, only necessary to program. Then remove.

    Been wanting to upgrade from the 18" to 20" Laramie wheel on my 22 and was afraid it was going to be too expensive to calibrate the speedo. If i leave it alone it will be 3-5 mph off. But i see several complaining of losing fuel mileage. Making me rethink doing this at all

      I don’t think gas was affected that much. Just my opinion. I really like my Falken Wildpeak AT3W ruclips.net/user/shortsgcwBVbFteE4?si=v8MWyeWYvgXyuZfN

      Just changed my tire size 2021 Rebel. Now my parking sensors won't turn on. I set tire size to the TRX factory size that's what I'm running. Spedo is prefect, parking sensors are not working.

    I got a 2015 on 35s and my speedometer is corrected by one of the factory presets I used Harrison’s excel spreadsheet and it turns out my 35 is not a 35 when it’s rolling it turns into 32.97 making it a 33” tire and 2631mm is what I got using his spreadsheet so it happened to be a preset FCA had for my truck and I didn’t have to do the ABS configuration

    \ \We've had the same issue.
    Talked with my FTA and we got
    to n touch with engineering. The
    PAM is designed to work with tire
    sizes between 2430mm to
    2557mm circumference. The
    2023 models have this issue
    even with an MVP contract. I
    have been using AlfaOBD and
    setting max size to 2555mm and
    no DTCs. It's about 3mph off at
    75 on 35s but we explain this to
    the customer and they have been
    ok with it. Engineering is
    supposedly working .. See more

    the 2 black ports from the truck itself jump right at you when look under the dash correct? How are you getting the measurement in mm for your circumference as I have 35s but are measuring around 33.5in.

    • @acer154d
      @acer154d  2 года назад

      in the 2022 1500, you'll see them under the left side of the dash. There are plugs currently in the ports, and you swap out for the ODB adapter.

    • @acer154d
      @acer154d  2 года назад +1

      Also, re: tire size. Look online for circumference calculator. But, sizes will vary depending on time of year (temperature), and inflation. Best best is to get a GPS/speed app on your phone, and try to match the speed of the GPS app by adjusting circumference settings in ODB until closely aligned.

    Also did you have any other issues ie park assist going out because I read in other forums where guys are saying they had trouble with that? Oh by the way great video!!

    • @acer154d
      @acer154d  2 года назад

      On the 2022 1500, I had no trouble with park assist. I believe that was issue in older vehicles, but 2022 firmware manages this better.

      I think if you set it above 2715mm then it knocks out ParkSense. So just put the number lower and it should work.

      Thank you for the process on a 2022 I just did this on my truck and it worked perfectly. I have a 2022 limited with the 22" rims and the factory setting was dynamic tire Circumference 2503mm, When I loaded the new tire size I did get a warning for forward break mitigation not working as well as a check engine light. I disconnected alpha OBD, cycled the key and all the errors and check engine were gone.

    • @acer154d
      @acer154d  2 года назад +1

      Afraid I don’t have that information. Check the spec for that tire online. I’d say roughly same as my Wildpeak, in this video. In the end, you’ll want to use a gps speedometer to adjust the mm so that it matches the vehicle speedometer. Same as I did.

      That’s correct, they were no changes necessary for anything else. I suspect they have upgraded their computer in the newer model, and it doesn’t have all the dependencies as previous models.

    i have 3.92 gearing. any benefit to adjusting the ratio down if not towing etc? maybe fuel economy or something?

    • @djmenace3646
      @djmenace3646 Год назад

      I've read on numerous post to NOT change the gear ratio unless you have physically swapped out the gears. It can potentially put your gear in "limp" mode.

    • @shawnmorgan3244
      @shawnmorgan3244 7 месяцев назад

      You cannot change your gear ratio with a computer. You would have to change your gear set in the front and rear differentials to do this. Then, say you went to 3.23 gear ration, you would then change that in alfaobd to 3.23 instead of 3.92

  • @MrBigtexco
    @MrBigtexco 2 года назад

    One last question did you leave it plugged in until you got the speedometer calibrated or did you disconnect then test it out and if not corrected come back and reconnect and try again?

    • @acer154d
      @acer154d  2 года назад

      You can leave it plugged in. It is simply a bypass, there are no interactions outside of connecting to the computer. You can leave it on for as long as you like, it has no implications driving or not

    Hi Aaron, I just installed the OBD linkmx + with the adapter. I managed to change the tire size to the exact speed as my GPS. the issue I have now is I've gone from 19 to 20 litres per 100km to now at 28 litres per 100 km. shouldn't my gas mileage be better? would really appreciate if you could help me with this.

    • @shawnmorgan3244
      @shawnmorgan3244 7 месяцев назад

      If you put larger tires on that stock you're going to lose mpg's. Alfaobd and changing the tire size in the computer will not get you better fuel mileage
