Wireless mic required Mr Barron 🙂. Lovely finish. That pressure treated looked like tiger skin. Nice!
Ask Hannah to get you a powered mic you can wear when recording and your voice will always come across with the same volume.

Awesome! That's amazing. So what I'm hearing you say if you you want a box without the dark black, heat the boards up then assemble.
Looks really good I knew you would find something to do with just one arm I like the arm brace makes you look like The Bionic Man

Always enjoy your videos bro. You always have some cool ideas.
That was interesting Jeff.
Burning it does make it look real nice. I like the way it looks and cedar looks good burnt too.
THATS PRETTY..💜💜💜💎
We burned the wood for our dining room table. We also have some of the European mounts on slices of wood cut at an angle from a tree trunk that was about 8" in diameter. They are pretty blond and don't have much grain in them so burning them made them look much better. I watched video on youtube to find out how to do it. You did a good job of explaining it. Hopefully you will entice people to try it.
That torching sure makes the grain stand out. Good instructional video, Jeff. I can just see some of those good ol boys burning down there house. lol. Appreciate y’all.
Enjoyed video, Great technic. Volume off some. Thanks for posting.
New to the channel thank you for your informational videos
jeff barron with a bionic arm torch wood, is real wood torch man, love it
Thnx Jeff...
Tip: When doing inside corners, start burning away from them and ease toward them. If you start at the corner the heat multiplies as you move away.
Cool video‼️👍😎
Nice I like that
Jeff you look like a super hero or something with that thing on your arm 😁
Man yu know yur woods thats badass
Awesome job Jeff. Just cant hear you to good. But that sure makes that wood totally different. It's beautiful! Thanks stay safe. Good to see you trying your best to take care that arm. God Bless y'all.
Pricate y'all!!
Yes sir...! When I did the wood finish on my furniture I did the same thing there hoss! Looks good brother for Ohio..!!!😃😁👍👍
My son treated some pine shelves with one of these "flamethrowers". It was amazing and a bit scary!lol
Cool thanks
Every good video thy help think you
Jeff Burning wood is called shou sugi ban, Chinese have been doing this type of wood preservation for centuries. Most of the ancient buildings that are standing still today are done in this method. And after you burn wood it seals the pores and make it insect proof. Here's a good way to do your fence post and not have to worry about them for a very long time. Did my neighbors cattle fence posts a long long time ago and they are still fine. Getting ready to do the rest of the pasture fence posts this winter.
This is actually an old japanese wood preservation technique. If you char the wood long enough, the pores in the wood swell, and close over. This creates a barrier that makes the wood much more weather proof, and helps it last a lot longer. Check out 'Shou Sugi Ban' for more info.
I'm here in the bay area and brother we got a whole lot of that torched wood around.
thank you
Nice.
One process I do is use axe to make wood look hand hewn, then drill few holes, bang some chain and stuff, then burn it for a nice brown petina. I use wire wheel on the char and then spot sand with 300 grit. Makes nice faux beams and table top (I use resin on tables)
nice demo, like the vids. You all stay safe with the two storms coming in.
Appreciate you Jeff,I just tried it on my outhouse and I believe I left the torch on her a little too long cause I watched her burn to burn to the ground. I don't remember you saying nothing about being careful with your outhouses. 😆 lol preciate yee Jeff.💪😁
Can’t teach common sense
That shit will burn.
Love the videos Jeff, keep up the great work!
PS - Get yourself an "On Person" windproof MIC with a battery pack, that uses Bluetooth Wifi to connect to your camera and allows you the freedom to do your how to's without worrying about if we can hear you.
been doing this to alot of fences I build lately
I use a lower flame and hit it a couple of times for more of an antique look without the black burned look.
Nice next entry to that method. I need a job, keep an open mind out on me, headed to Virginia soon.
Great Video. Jeff, it is called Shou Sugi Ban: The Art of Japanese Wood Burning .
The rough cut side of the yellow line looks like an airiel view of a bunch of islands surrounded by water
Nice
Going to be picking one of the bigger ones up but I wasn't sure until now cause I use the small ones and for my bigger projects the bigger one will be alot handier thanks for sharing the tips. Keep up the great videos
G'day Jeff, the technical term is Burnishing.
Keep up the great work and I hope your arm is feeling stronger by the day.
Cheers mate 👍
Jeff looks everywhere. Except into the camera. 😂👍 Just an observation. That's why we need hannah. But brilliant videos.. Keep it up man.
Yer not supposed to look into the camera. Yer supposed to look at the tomato can above the camera. LOL
2 Terrible Toads
don’t think many will get that
@@thomasdalbec5233 Yeah. I guess you'd have to be of a certain age. Lol
I really love your craftsmanship. You give me a lot of ideas that I could use at my parent's farmhouse in the south of Germany! Kudos to you Jeff, you truly are an awesome man. You look better and more handsome at 49 than most men in this world ever have or ever will. Keep up the wonderful videos!
