Dot cards are nice too, if you do any portable watercolors sketching.
I saw another artist use a rubber tipped thing called a Colour Shaper for Encaustic Angle Chisel to apply masking fluid. I didn’t want to spend much since I don’t use masking fluid very often, so I tried a rubber tipped “gum stimulator”. It works and I don’t have to kill a brush. 😂. Your creatures are so cute.
The cheapie Plaid brushes worked well, but I’m glad you found something 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I've only used pebeo. It seems fine. I pour out what I need in a spare lid so it doesn't dry out. Thanks for testing it against the other brands.❤
You should try QOR's. It's very good and removes like a charm.
I love these characters you painted! So colorful and they make me smile! You got a great imagination!
Thank you so much 😀
Nice video. Thanks you
I'm happy for this comparison. I've only ever tried the Pebeo out of the three brands. I've had issues with it staining my paper and not lifting as it should. Maybe I was sold an old bottle. After trying it on several different paper brands and having issues with about 25% of them I ended up tossing it. I'm currently using Qor masking fluid. No issues so far.
Mine didn’t have any blue stain but this project didn’t sit around for weeks either….
@@SandyAllnock1 I always try to be able to remove the masking within 24 hours
The watercolor creature class isn't available until July 1.
Correct
Love your characters! I had problems with a masking fluid that lifted my paper. Then I reread the instructions and it recommended that you not leave the dry masking fluid on for extended periods of time( not sure now long is extended but I used it on a picture that was completed in stages for a class over several weeks). I have also heard that if you use hot air to rapid dry your watercolor it may affect the masking fluid. Have you heard of either problem? Thank you for your videos!
I have experienced both.
I don’t work on anything for weeks but yes I’ve heard that. I HAVE overcooked it with a heat gun 👀
Great video! I'm super curious about the Schmincke masking fluid; have you tried it?
Not yet!
I use masking fluid extensively and have put many brands to the test. By FAR Schmincke's is my least favorite! It really surprised me. I hated it so much that I wouldn't give it away, I tossed it. I use Pebeo exclusively now. Hope this helps.
Very cool! Going to look for your class, as I paint rocks for kids going through hard times, so these monsters are perfect. What brand ‘pick up’ do you prefer please? Thanks.
Here’s the one I have - bit.ly/3KgNNRx
Class won’t launch til July 1
@@SandyAllnock1 Thanks very much!
Hi. The Dot Card fundraiser requires an 'account.' What account would that be?
An account at art-classes.com
Maybe I missed it, but I don't see where we can sign up for the Imaginary Creature watercolor class. Also, can you let us know the exact name of the eraser you used, please? Thank you.
Class doesn’t launch til July 1. Sorry I forgot to link the pickup! bit.ly/3KgNNRx
