  • In this episode of Sailing Dark Angel we ride out a big storm in Pipe Creek. It's a big windy blow that pushes two boats into the shore and spins us like a top.
Then an anchor check turns into a reef dive.

Thank you! It was scary at the time. It always is. Dave likes to use the word 'exciting'. I don't think that word means what he thinks it means lol

Some crazy wind and lightening! No wonder your Mermaid was shaking. Hopefully soon the storms will stop so you can enjoy that beautiful scenery. -- Jerry

@@SailingDarkAngel You're so very welcome. I did notice after the anchor check you both were in the water, but it seemed as if Capt. Dave didn't make that 'Ohhh it's chilly' sound when he went in. LOL Those Go-Pro handle covers, will they float to the surface when released?

I spend more time in the sun, so the temp is more of a shock. Besides, I'm funnier 😝
Yes, we use floating handles when we take the GoPros in the water. We should use waterproof housings as well, but the sound gets muffled

I know exactly where you were anchored. Super tight and room for only one boat. Glad you guys made it through!

I wish boat manufacturers would stop making decent anchors optional equipment!

We're not sure what the original anchor was for our '06 Fortuna Island Spirit, but our Mantus anchor is really dependable. Anchor technology has come a long way!
