My son and I are going to Pine Mountain! I just told him we're going to Waverly Hall to visit ... We've never been to Waverly Hall, I should message Brian Mallard to see if you guys will show us around some exclusive places. We own a fruit Farm in Alabama. I have a teenage boy & we would love to meet you if possible!?? I've been following you since the beginning. Thank you because I've learned a lot! We love your videos, Robert! Ossahatchie Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Georgia that runs through Harris and Talbot counties in the west central part of the state. It is a tributary to Mulberry Creek. Ossahatchie is a name derived from the Muscogee language meaning "Pokeweed Creek".

My mom and I used to roam the hills near our house in Kentucky each Spring and gather poke when it first sprouted. She would par boil it a couple of times, season them up and serve with hot buttered cornbread baked in an old cast iron skillet. Best eats ever! Saved the nutrient- starved settlers from scurvy. The trick is to pick it as a young shoot.

My Daddy, Momma Always Ate Poke Salad. You Have To Wash,It And Boil It Very Well Or It Can Hurt You. They Use To Fry It After Boiling,Put Eggs In It. It Stunk To High Heaven. I Would Stay Out Of The House Until Late Evening. Brent You, Your Family Have A Beautiful Restaurant. I Wish You The Best....

I'm Canadian and up here we boil fiddleheads 4 times & it turns into Fiberglass and we shape it on a White / Paper birch tree & make our canoes inside out so they float even upside down... we all know Canadians are polite & don't ever tell a tall tale eithor 😊😂😮😮

Heyyyy ! Josh and i stopped by Pokeweed Creek this past Saturday. The "Pig Boy Special" was so good !!! Those were some of the best loaded fries we've ever had. Got to meet Brent also. They have done fantastic job and we will make back soon. 👍✌️👏

Eating pigboy's kin. Oh no!! Ahhh, Brent and Robert together again. Ya'll so full of it. Cooking pokeweed is an art. My aunt used to fix that, poke salad or poke sally. We called it ink berries cause those that couldn't afford ink used the ripe berries for ink long ago. It grows around my house. Love the bicycle and all the art done. When your food comes on just a tray, you're in trouble.

Brent did an awesome job fixing up the building and the restaurant. The food looks amazing! I wish I could go there and indulge. Somehow I got pokeweed growing in my flower gardern. At first I didn't know what it was. I checked it out and found that is bad, bad, bad. Birds can eat the berries. But dogs and people can NOT eat this stuff. And it is really hard to get rid of. I have heard that you need to boil the leaves at least 3 times, changing the water each time. That was 5 years ago and I am still finding the stuff growing in my yard. I never tried it and don't plan to. Great video. Love old history.

Wow! The Native Americans eat that weed but we call it Milk Weed.I remember I had it my mom cleaned it boll and put some bacon bits in it and also put some flour in and it was delicious.I miss them good old days.

My sister, and I just had that conversation the other day about what idiot try the first things that we eat. That story was funny about the third guy boiling it twice. He survived, but maybe not to smart. The place looks great, wish it was closer would love to eat dinner, and watch some Duck Dynasty..LOL
My mom used to cook down young pokeweed (before the berries develop) and mix scrambled eggs with it. So good and I made it for my kids. Can't find it here in Florida but I get a craving for it every Spring.

The food looks great!! How can you eat to get a heart attack? The food is fine, just don’t eat before you eat a large meal! Eating more than 2 pounds of food a day can give anyone a heart attack. There are no calories without the measurement of weight. Just tell us how good it tastes when you are hungry!
