I'm sure it would not have been pleasant to fly through. We had light turbulence flying around it. No telling what we might have encountered within. Besides. Visibility would have been reduced to potentially unacceptable levels. We were VFR, so no point in pushing our luck. : )
@@iflycentral I totally understand. In real life we don't take unnecessary risks, especially with your relatives on-board. There's no reloading levels and infinite lives. I was just kidding, you know that. Safety always comes first. In that regard, take care and be well!

My Father (Copilot) thought it would be neat to film an isolated rain shower / thunderstorm off out 3 o'clock as we came in to land.

It was a heavy shower, but a shower nonetheless. It did not rain for long in that spot.

This is why I prefer Sims, botch the landing and all you need to do is restart .. not go to hospital ! :D
Naturally; one has more incentive not to botch landings IRL. I've many, many hundreds of landings IRL, and I've never bent a plane.
