I went online with discord wingman and his best plane was the E-3. I hadn't been in one in ages and all I heard ringing in my ears (apart from the tinnitus from Much Too Loud For too Long Trance) was that "109s are NOT turnfighters".
I left my wingman engaging a Blenheim while I took on a Typhoon Ia, got him in a turn after a dive-chase, then went for a P-39N and got him in a turn, and also nailed a third I don't remember but might have been a bomber.
I'm pretty sure the Emils is where I formed the opinion of 109s as turnfighters...

Still quite hard to out turn even in a spitfie (or i dont know how to kill one because id dont go against one because matchmaking)
Man you can only imagine how spectacular the dogfight between this and the Spitfire Mk.IIb were in the Battle of Britain 😍

The Mk.IIb spitfire didn’t fight in the Battle of Britain it was introduced in mid-late 1941 the Mk.Ia and Mk.IIa were the spitfire variants used in the Battle of Britain

yes, at il2s are very good in heavy fighters role, and at their br many many folks are going headon or completely underestimate its turn ability. In addition those 23mm can easily get folks from 1km away.
Those 23mm are scary. Although it's easy to stall an IL2

Definitely a big improvement on the cannons compared to the E-3.

The thing that makes OP this and the bf109f1 is that 2 out of 3 enemies at this br are noobs and you can pretty much do all the manouvers to dominate and to energy trap. Then you get a lv 6 on a cw21 and you ask why does this happen
Thats life, its also why some of these planes stay low in br, because the average performance in it is within normal numbers.
I hope we get an E-7 in the research tree soon

I have played the game in the patch 1.3 to 1.4 days and I just wrote a long comment about how German fighters always get their BR raised to ridiculous levels.
Yet, even old cynical me is shocked to see that 109 E's are now fighting La-5. This is ridiculous. Back in my days the La-5 had the same BR as the 109 G-2 and the La-5 was at an advantage in that matchup.
Now "baby" low tier 109s have to meet them in battle?
Was the La-5 nerfed hard, or has the forced uptiering of German fighters reached absolutely ridiculous levels now?
What's next? He-51 with BR 3+?
the 109's are in good state right now. only the f-2 is overtiered atm in my opinion.

IL-2 is pretty insane, 23mm cannons are very strong, it has very very very very very durable airframe and gunner is a huge troll.
Personally I find the BF109 F2 a hidden Jem the velocity is slightly more on the 15mm
i prefer the 20's. But we all have our preferences.
I also love the 20mm cannons but i find they have much less range and you have to engage much more closer

I need to come back to these earlier 109's. Didn't know much back when I was using them. After spading the g series I have come to be very fond of 109's. Death machines. And they have a kind of menacing look lol

Pretty good plane, easy to learn and with decent firepower. No much need for MEC, cools pretty fast. On sim its also decent, but it had some issues like "not the best" cockpit visibility mostly due to 10 mm metal plate behind pilot chair and some minor problems at landing/takeoff, due to torque and a german inability to trim everything. But overall it is a very good low br machine and its god damn pretty.
Sheinar I agree, but I feel like 109s are not that easy to learn.

@@jengar6258 had to go back and watch it again. I was wrong. It was smoke from successful hits. Was just so low to the ground it looked like rounds hitting the deck behind it. Good shooting

God damn... why does it seem the early German cannon does so much more damage than the later one? Seeing you get several easy kills in the E-4 puts my... relatively few kills in the G-10 to shame. Though I suppose you do have two cannons compared to the single cannon on a stock G-10.
I's mostly due to the fact that aircrafts are much more fragile in the lower BRs
True, but it's a bit depressing loading a F4U-4B and the like with mineshells and the most i get is a reddened wing
The fact that you have only one cannon doesn't explain nothing, the f4 has only one an kills a lot, i think it's becouse the later ones are more armored and better pilots
This is very easy to explain actually. The higher you go in the Tiers/BR's, the faster the planes get. The faster a plane flies, the harder it is to hit. And even if you hit, you will usually hit with less rounds, depending on the guns muzzle velocity and RoF.
The MG FF/M here has a lower MV and RoF than the MG 151/20 that is used on basically every german fighter from the Bf 109 F-4 onwards, and
I guarantee you that if you had a MG FF/M(or even two) instead of the MG 151/20 in your Bf 109 G-10, you would get even less effect on target... even if it looks like you hit with a good burst. Remember, you only see the tracer shells, not the ones that actually do the real damage.
In any case... a Corsair with a red wing is still as good as dead.

The Japanese premium is BAE
Dora190 the f1 is a beast too. Same climb as the e4, 20kph faster at any speed and br 2.3

I like how the plane perform but the 20mm cannon are bad.
Stephen the Great canons are pretty bad right now. The 50. Cal is really op right now.
If you only stay of the game graphics, then Warthunder is good. For all the other aspects (campers, numbers of cheaters, slow boring game, unbalanced, not realistic, unfixed bugs that are present for years, ...) this game is pure shit.
