Great pick! I've only played the DS version of Radiant Historia, but it left a lasting impression. Nice figures as well. The Cold Steel figures and Lyn from FE Blazing Blade look awesome. Besides Lyn being my favorite Fire Emblem character, the pose she's striking in the figure takes it to the next level.
I just had to talk about 13 Sentinels! Super glad you enjoyed it too, and it was really awesome to see other people’s picks as well! Thanks for having me!
I will always be a huge fan of FF7 as that was my 2nd FF game and will always be my most nostalgic. But I think FF9 will go down as one of the purest FF renditions. Vivi's story was both sad and memorable. Great choice.
Food4dogs is an inspiration for all of us gamers that will eventually grow older and reach that generation. Such an amazing women to be able to talk about her passions and video games. Nothing but respect and a true role model.
@@kindred6453 I think were kind of beyond the days of "you need to grow up those silly hobbies are for kids" since geek culture is now pretty much ingrained into our Society. Hell people make career's out of video game and anime content now. Super Hero live action worlds are mainstream in media and were slowly venturing towards more video game/anime adaptations on regular streaming channels that more adults then kids are getting involved in. @@Artimes. While I agree for the most part I still on occasion see the "x is a kid thing you should act like a grown up" but that mainly comes from people who don't want to see others enjoy life. @@kindred6453 yep and I think naturally history won't course correct itself. This is just how it is now. Loved seeing Food4Dogs, Davidvinc, Ircha Gaming, The Gaming Shelf, HallowedBeThyGame, Orbatology, and Backlog Battle!!! While I don't necessarily relate with everyone else's choices - I was very very very happy to be able to relate to Britta's choice! I agree - FE Echoes Shadows Of Valentia was definitely a masterpiece of a game, even within it's own series. Although personally, Awakening still stays as my most favorite Fire Emblem game at the moment until another FE takes its place. ❤️✨
I really like how people in the JRPG content creator community are getting along so well overall. You guys put together a great list, though I have to admit that I still need to play some of the games. No Falcom though? I'd add Ys VIII / Oath in Felghana and Trails to Azure.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to participate in this colab! It's amazing to see so many passionate RPG creators together and you seamlessly blended everyones clips together masterfully! Some truly great choices and I feel Suikoden 2 is definitely right up there, if not at the very top! Amazing video as always Kiseki and I love watching through your video library multiple times on the big TV in the living room!
Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts about P5R, man. Watching the other great creators and their amazing personalities, I did come across as a bit too formal, but it's something to work on. Silly me also forgot to include an intro in my video to thank you as well. I'll bear that in mind next time :). Amazing video, TKN.
I haven't played every single game on the list, but my gosh, Radiant Historia, 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim and FE Echoes: Shadows of Valentia are amazing. Some great recommendations! Also, I'm glad you invited these guest creators. I've never heard about most of them, except for Food 4 Dogs, but I really appreciate them!
13 Sentinels. What a joy. In terms of story complexity, seems like love child of Van Helsing Anime, Ergo Proxy with a dash of Valerio Evangelisti's novels.
How wonderful to see Britta - an older gamer like me! (I've just turned 70!) I hadn't come across her before - thank you for including her, I'm off to subscribe!
Holy Moses, this is awesome! I knew about DavidVinc, Gaming Broductions and Ircha Gaming before this video, but the other Channels were unbeknownst to me completely. Thank you very much for introducing them to an oblivious Boomer like me. Guess I know now what to do next week during my break from work. 🖥
I'm on board with The Twit Gamer and you, The Kiseki Nut. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is my all-time favourite despite my ~30 years gaming experience. And yes, I have both Pyra and Mythra figures from Good Smile on my shelf. Also I agree with Backlog Battle: 13 Sentinels if awesome. Also I love Atelier series, especially Secret and Dusk, so I'm also in agree with Ircha gaming. P.S.: this year I added Kuro no Kiseki in my list of all-time favourite JRPGs. I rate it a bit higher than Crossbell and Erenobia arcs.
You just earned yourself a sub, sir. Not only is FF7 my masterpiece RPG of all time, (well, Remake now), but to hear you edit everything on your phone? Kudos to that. XD
That's amazing that you got Food 4 Dogs on this video! Such a lovely soul and a genuinely great content creator. Also shoutout to the Xenogears and Xenoblade 2 reccomendations. To this day still my favourite series and both are in my top 5.
this is like an "ALL STARS" episode of my favorite show. amazing creators ❤ I'm surprised to find a few people I haven't seen before. thanks for the video and an amazing collaboration :3
Surprised there were no Dragon Quest recommendations! I'd suggest 5 or 7. Great list regardless though, probably going to finally play through my copy of Radiant Historia soon
11, 8, and 5 for me personally. I think DQ11 has so few flaws that it is the top pick for mainline Dragon Quest games. It has likable, memorable characters, great graphics and art style, classic Dragon Quest story, basic but fun combat mechanics, good pacing, and the length is just right with the post game adding extra difficulty and length for hardcore enthusiasts.
I dare say that if each person had more than 1 pick, DQ would get some love. Always difficult to narrow it down to one memorable experience, much less keep the explanation concise.
Awesome episode! The games showcased are must haves and to have such great guest was a surprise to me as I follow nearly half of them already. Perfect spectrum!
Lunar Eternal Blue, Dark Cloud 2, Rogue Galaxy, Secret of Mana, Grandia, Tales of Graces F, Lufia II, Star Ocean 2,Rune Factory 4 and most underrated Tokyo Xanadu eX+ deserved to be in too. Suikoden V, Dragon Quest IV, Persona 4, and Final Fantasy IV are great games too.
Suikoden 2, to this day, is still such a masterclass. Amazing story. Huge cast of lovable characters. Varied and fun gameplay. Incredible soundtrack. And it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome, telling a full and emotional story in only about 30 hours. I’m so unbelievably excited for the remaster, hoping that more people can try out this masterpiece I’ve adored for years.
I have never heard of Food 4 Dogs, but Britta is now my rolemodel and I want to be just like her when I get to that age. I also agree with her about everything regarding Fire Emblem Echoes. I am not sure about my favorite JRPG, but I would say either Fire Emblem Blazing Sword or Tales of the Abyss. I kinda tend toward Tales of the Abyss. I may not like the newer games, but Abyss just did so many things right. It has great characters, a great story and an amazing soundtrack. The games combat may be simple, but to me, simple is best. You have free range to move in the arena, can create pretty cool combos with altered artes and your main healer attacks and heal with singing! The story has so many gut wrenching moments that just hit you in the feels and kick you while you're down. There is also an Anime, that I have the Bluray for, but I can't watch it because I am German and the Bluray is American. (What the hell is the difference between A and B players?) I desperately want Abyss to get a Remaster, because playing on the small 3DS is great and all, but the D pad is not very fun to use because I keep having to readjust my finger on it. This was a fun video and I enjoyed most of the games being talked about here. See you next time mate. Cheers 😊
I really love Tales of the Abyss. It's not only my favorite jrpg ever it's my favorite video game of all time. Despite all of its flaws on the ps2 I just can't think of any game thats better than it. I immediately fell in love with the story and the combat system and by the end of the game I had completely invest myself in the main cast and it's outstanding villains and the lore of the world. I'm currently on my second playthrpugg where I'm going to not only try to master the combat but attempt to explore everything the game has to offer and I may end up missing some side quests. And it's also the one Tales game I really do hope Bandai namco will give the remake/remaster treatment next
As a fellow German and Tales Fan, I see what you mean about the newer Games. I think they don't have the same feeling. Tales of Symphonia is absolutely my favorite game.
Great collab, I appreciate you doing this. I knew about half of these people and just found several more people to follow! Most my picks are represented here; the one glaring omission I would've monologues for 3 minutes about is Nier Automata. And FFXIV, if someone had the heart to do so.
This is a such a nice and varied list! JRPG fans from all walks of life, and featuring from old to new. My pick world be Ys: Lacrimosa of Dana. Fun, touching and unforgettable. Nice video again!
Good video! I'm discovering this channel and a bunch of others thanks to the collab. I am also a creator that is getting back into the JRPGs, right now playing Octopath Traveler and 100%ing all the Ys releases on Steam, which is becoming fast one of my favorite series of all time! Lovely work, kudos to all the creators for sharing their love for these games!
This was a mighty fun video - got to see a bunch of passionate, articulate folks gush about their favorite games. Thanks for collecting these and to the people who contributed.
Fantastic list! Nailed what I call the "Holy Trinity" of Final Fantasy games. 6, Tactics and 9. Literally all the games listed were absolute bangers! Great video
Seeing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 makes me so happy. I can't deny it's rather flawed but it's also the game that got it's hooks into me and had me so emotionally invested in its characters and world that I couldn't put it down. I tend to burn out on games around the 60 - 70 hour mark but I remember I was doing the post game content at the 150 hour mark and still having the time of my life. What a great game.
Same, I got worried when I saw games like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 considered as the masterpiece rpg (no offense to people that like the game.). I’m glad I found a fellow Star of Destiny in the comments.
This giant collab is fantastic - not just because you got a bunch of very skilled people who are passionate about this stuff, but just COLLABORATING at this level is something I don't think very many people even think about. Quality was solid and tons of fantastic games here as well. Hype to intro all these creators - definitely a few channels I'll be checking out. (Thanks everyone who worked on the video)
One content creator I wished to hear in this video would have been the JRPG Jungle, but hell, you collected a bunch of truely wonderful persons in here. I played a lot of these games the past years and esp. FF6 was stuck with me. Personaly my 10/10 JPRG. Esp. in the Pixel Remaster! In Addition: GO OUT EVERYONE AND PLAY Ys: Lacrimosa of Dana. It is a wonderful A-JPRG, best YsGame ever!
I actually did give a call-out to JRPG Jungle, she unfortunately was busy this time around! When I said there were 2 influences who got me in to Atelier (on Ircha's segment), it was her and the other was JRPG Jungle.
Got a few good recommendations here so I decided to go on PSN and grab the ps4 versions of both final fantasy 6 and ni no Kuni 2 as well as the ps5 version of persona 5 royal, now definitely got a few great JRPGs to play in my spare time, thank you
What a lovely collaboration. I made a list myself, and most of them were hit: Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Suikoden II... there were a couple on my list that weren't - those being Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky, and Breath of Fire IV. I know you said you'll be checking out Suikoden I and II when the remasters come out - you are in for a HUGE treat!
Thanks for making this wonderful collab video on JRPG's. From my end I want to mention three games that I think need some love & attention. Infinite Space a Platinum Games production on Nintendo DS; Suikoden 5 on PS2 and Mother 3 on SNES & GBA. I really think most of the JRPG lovers would love these games. Thank you.
I would have given the nod to Yakuza Like a Dragon as a game I couldn't put down and I look forward to the sequel. I haven't managed to find any other turn based RPGs to compare to it until Honkai Star Rail, even if it isn't an exact genre match. I love the characters, the world, the way the story goes from serious to stupid. Sakura Wars gets a honourable mention after I heard about it from this channel. I tried all sorts of other games, including Dragon Quest, Ryza, Fire Emblem, Neptunia, but none of them felt like what I was after.
I'm subscribed to the majority of the people you had on here and those I wasnt I am now. What an amazing MVP of RUclipsrs in this video. Fantastic Also your shirt looks like Battle Chasers... Great comic and rpg.
So glad someone mentioned Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it's one of my all time favourite games! The music is probably my favourite gaming soundtrack, one song in particular sticks in my mind called Our Eternal Land, sung by an Irish Choir, everyone should RUclips it if they've never played the game. Irene from Ircha Gaming also got me into the Atelier games, they're very addictive with great battle systems and people should definitely check them out if they haven't already.
Funny I played pretty much all of the games on the list. Man, Terranigma takes me back. Such a fantastic game. I remember the difficulty spike for child me in the castle in Spain. lol
Pretty solid showcase! I think there's only three games I haven't played here (and Ryza 2 is on my wishlist after I finished Ryza 1 a couple of weeks ago) I'm surprised there were no Tales of games on this list though and I'll shoutout Star Ocean 2 because I feel it's becoming a forgotten gem these days.
games that were a 10/10 for me that were not included on this list - Persona 4 Golden - absolutely incredible OST, unforgettable cast, top tier voice acting and writing Final Fantasy 12 - often overlooked but I thought the combat, writing and visuals were gorgeous and a love letter to traditional JRPGs Tales of Vesperia - one of my favorite protagonists (Yuri), great combat and a deep, engaging story Trails to Azure - this needs no explanation (greatest game of all time) loved this collab and added a few games that I haven't played before (Radiant Historia and Terranigma)
Ircha got me into the Atelier series as well, I'm slow burning Ryza 1 as much as I can to savor it. I was glad to see 13 Sentinels, Xenogears, and Radiant Historia here. I would have put Trails in the Sky 1 & 2 on the list. Those games are perfect JRPGs in my opinion, with story I'm always invested in, characters I'm always happy to see, immersive lore, and varied & strategic combat.
Haven't played many games from the list but now I know where to start. My 10/10 is definately Legend of Dragoon. At this point I can't even remember how many times I played this masterpiece, but I still enjoy it after all these years. Combat is a chef's kiss, I've never seen anything like it Also my picks are: Ys viii, Final Fantasy 8 and 10, Chrono Cross, Trails in the Sky Thanks for the video!
The amount of work you and the great creators involved with this video must have had to put in to get this video across the finish line is more than commendable. Every pick a true winner. Had I contributed to this video, I would have chosen Breath of Fire 3. This is especially a good choice in my mind as no one else picked it but also that it encapsulates everything in a JRPG that I believe should be there. Thank you TKN and everyone involved, this is wonderful.

@@OtterloopB we need more RPGs with evolving home bases that we can add to while advancing the plot! 😁
Awesome idea for a video! Loved hearing everyone's thoughts
nice idea of a video, it was a lot of fun to watch
Bro that grandma at the end is so based. Shes getting my sub!
Pleasantly surprised with Britta's pick. I looove that game! Excellent choice. Masterclass remake indeed.
Great video as always! But I also hated it...the list of games on my wishlist increased 😂
TKN and Tarks Gauntlet are two of the most underrated content creators in the business - love both of you guys!
Such an awesome video!
I love seeing everyone coming together in videos like these lately to celebrate games we love!
So many great games listed! Also some spicy hot takes 😮 🔥
Love this! 😊
This was a mighty fun video - got to see a bunch of passionate, articulate folks gush about their favorite games. Thanks for collecting these and to the people who contributed.
I wish there were more creators for this collab, this is awesome!!
Fantastic list! Nailed what I call the "Holy Trinity" of Final Fantasy games. 6, Tactics and 9. Literally all the games listed were absolute bangers! Great video
My top 3 JRPGs ever are in this video, so I'm satisfied lol
Seeing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 makes me so happy. I can't deny it's rather flawed but it's also the game that got it's hooks into me and had me so emotionally invested in its characters and world that I couldn't put it down.
I tend to burn out on games around the 60 - 70 hour mark but I remember I was doing the post game content at the 150 hour mark and still having the time of my life. What a great game.
I have not been able to get into any of the Xenoblade games personally. Never liked Xenosaga either.
Did love Xenogears though.
I love the game too! One of my favs just didn’t like tora, and some of the weird sexualization throughout the game but a great game none the less
Shadows Of Valentia and 13 Sentinels are also on my list of all-time favourites. Wonderful unforgettable experiences.
14/15 great games in the list can't be bad. Nice collab!
I had to go forward just to see if any of them would say Suikoden 2... Thank the gods.
a man of taste! There is nothing about Suikoden 2 I would change, it influenced my life!
Same, I got worried when I saw games like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 considered as the masterpiece rpg (no offense to people that like the game.).
I’m glad I found a fellow Star of Destiny in the comments.
Suikoden 2 and 13 Sentinels are my top 5, and I’m glad it’s on this list! Great work everyone
The Miyazaki Man is the only person who had the correct answer. I was worried for a moment but he restored my faith.
He has a good channel.
Cool concept and a super solid list overall 😄👌🏽.
I might consider giving Terranigma a try ;-).
These community videos are fantastic! I am currently playing Grandia, and it is great.
I’ve personally tried to reach out to JRPG Jungle several times over the years for the collab but she’s always busy. But we’ll all keep trying!
You know she would have said an atelier game lol jk
@@Suikojunkie you’re not wrong lol
I actually did give a call-out to JRPG Jungle, she unfortunately was busy this time around! When I said there were 2 influences who got me in to Atelier (on Ircha's segment), it was her and the other was JRPG Jungle.
Man, it was great to see Food4Dogs feature here. I love her channel
Glad to see that so many people are putting respect on the Final Fantasy name ❤
Got a few good recommendations here so I decided to go on PSN and grab the ps4 versions of both final fantasy 6 and ni no Kuni 2 as well as the ps5 version of persona 5 royal, now definitely got a few great JRPGs to play in my spare time, thank you
It's always been FFVI & FFIX for me. But I have to admit that without the nostalgia it's Octopath Traveler II
This was a lot of fun. Some great selections to.
25:44 that makes me happy, YNWA DARKPHOENIX!
One of the best colabs I have seen. Most of the channels I subscribed to but am glad to be introduced to new ones
What a lovely collaboration. I made a list myself, and most of them were hit:
Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Suikoden II... there were a couple on my list that weren't - those being Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky, and Breath of Fire IV. I know you said you'll be checking out Suikoden I and II when the remasters come out - you are in for a HUGE treat!
This is a dope complication! Well done 👍
Love all the collaborations between some of my favorite channels.
Still watching the ad, show hasn't started yet... Already worthy of more thumbs ups and likes than I can give.
Cheers!!
Star Ocean 2 and Early Tales (Eternia) was so ahead of its time and deserve to be in the list.
I've played lots of them and I am currently playing Atelier Ryza 2 right now!
Thank you.
Excellent callouts - all 3 of those are indeed wonderful.
Played all of this game.. except Atelier. Suikoden 2 just holds a special place in my heart.
Best jrpg for me. Period. As aged very well too thanks to its art design.
Best game for me of all time! I just saw the orchestra for Suikoden live in Tokyo yesterday!
This was an amazing collab with awesome picks!!!
I'm subscribed to the majority of the people you had on here and those I wasnt I am now.
What an amazing MVP of RUclipsrs in this video. Fantastic
Also your shirt looks like Battle Chasers... Great comic and rpg.
Toolman!!! :)
It's actually a Dogi shirt from Ys - got it from PinBox who are my go to for Falcom related merch.
@@chickenfillets hey man. Always good to see you in a Collab video. You and ff7... 🤣
@@TheKisekiNut oh very cool I'll have to check them out. I've only played Ys 8 and loved it.
Would love to see more of this kinda content in the future!❤
Collaborations are literally what most every consumer loves to see!
What a great list of amazing games by so many people, well done!
Funny I played pretty much all of the games on the list. Man, Terranigma takes me back. Such a fantastic game. I remember the difficulty spike for child me in the castle in Spain. lol
Did anyone else figure out a bunch of the entries just from the intro music played? SO MANY great JRPGs come with memorable music.
Pretty solid showcase! I think there's only three games I haven't played here (and Ryza 2 is on my wishlist after I finished Ryza 1 a couple of weeks ago)
I'm surprised there were no Tales of games on this list though and I'll shoutout Star Ocean 2 because I feel it's becoming a forgotten gem these days.
Food4Dogs! I’m an older new gamer, and I appreciate that she’s in this collab!!
What a great video. Love the compilation of people's favorites.
Broduction nailed it.
I feel like a spoilercast or big review or discussion in a podcast form with all these creators would be awesome!
games that were a 10/10 for me that were not included on this list -
Persona 4 Golden - absolutely incredible OST, unforgettable cast, top tier voice acting and writing
Final Fantasy 12 - often overlooked but I thought the combat, writing and visuals were gorgeous and a love letter to traditional JRPGs
Tales of Vesperia - one of my favorite protagonists (Yuri), great combat and a deep, engaging story
Trails to Azure - this needs no explanation (greatest game of all time)
loved this collab and added a few games that I haven't played before (Radiant Historia and Terranigma)
Yep, P4G scores even higher than P5R on Steam.
Nice video, came here, because foodfordogs told me about it
Ircha got me into the Atelier series as well, I'm slow burning Ryza 1 as much as I can to savor it.
Britta coming in based with Fire Emblem Echoes.
Also have to give props to Orbalology for Radiant Historia as well.
Amazing collab, I love these types of videos! Thanks for bringing this to us.
Haven't played many games from the list but now I know where to start. My 10/10 is definately Legend of Dragoon. At this point I can't even remember how many times I played this masterpiece, but I still enjoy it after all these years. Combat is a chef's kiss, I've never seen anything like it
Also my picks are: Ys viii, Final Fantasy 8 and 10, Chrono Cross, Trails in the Sky
Thanks for the video!
This is collaboration at its finest! So many creators we know and love and so many we dont know who clearly have a great taste in games! Excuse us while we go and binge some youtube now! Good job team!
Love seeing some love go to the Ni No Kuni series, but am more for the first game myself
Great video with so many good people and their great channels. Those were all awesome games
that lady from Food 4 Dogs was the sweetest surprise
