    UPDATE: After using these some more I think there may have been a problem with my particular case causing the vignetting you can see on the Anamorphic shots in this video. I need to do some more testing but after mounting them with more pressure I’m no longer seeing the dark edges like you can see in this video when stabilisation is turned off! Seems like this is an isolated issue!

    Can you please make a video comparing the old and the new anamorphic lens? The price difference is quite a bit so I would rather get the old if not much has changed.

    I appreciate this video. I want to suggest you do a video on setting up the black Magic application you spoke about. I just ordered my lenses from Freewell and would like to have some sort of video guide me through the set up and application. Thankyou

    could you compare the Moment, Shiftcam, and Sherpa lenses from 2023? You would kill it on views...I'm looking forward to seeing this from somebody on youtube and I hope it's you. The bayonet vs threaded cases as well I hope?

    Whicj one is better for filming on night events like Djs and that stuff? Wide angle or anamorphic 1.33/1.55?

    Have you had a chance to try the 1.7 Telephoto lens yet? I have tried one on my S23 Ultra main lens. Too bad it isn't usable on the S23 x10 Periscope lens (to increase light gathering and resolution)

    Could you tell which set of lenses for iPhone 15 Pro Max you think is better - Freewell, Sandmarc or Shiftcam? I am primarily interested in anamorphic lenses 1.33 and wide angle lenses and ND filters for them

      Freewell’s are the only I’ve tried so far on the 15 Pro Max, but I’ll be testing more soon! ✌🏻

    Great video. Just wondering how they compare to the ShiftCam lenses. It’s seems like the ShiftCam lenses are sharper at the corners and have less chromatic aberration. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • @JCKRGB
      @JCKRGB  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, ShiftCam’s seem to be the sharpest overall so far. Really sharp edge to edge! I don’t have an iPhone 15 Pro Max case to test those with yet but I’d imagine the results are similar to what I saw with the 14 Pro Max as the cameras are so similar ✌🏻

    Do you know difference between the first version and the 2.0? I ordered the 1.33 and 1.55 but the 1.55 arrived labeled as "1.55 2.0" but the 1.33 is not labeled like that, so I'm uneasy thinking that maybe in loosing some quality update...

    Hello, I would like to know about the possibility of simultaneously using ND, CPL, SMIST1/4, and other filters in the FREEWELL SHERPA system for iPhone 15.
    I have watched many videos of people reviewing this system and carefully studied the manufacturer's website, but nowhere is there extremely important information. Everyone says that you can use, for example, a VND filter or a permanent ND filter with the Anamorphic 1.33 lens, as well as a CPL filter and others.
    Good!
    However, everyone needs to understand whether ND, CPL, SMIST1/4, and other filters can be used simultaneously on one lens in various combinations, as this is critically important for any shooting.
    For example, when making videos of the city or nature in high lighting conditions, I need to use an ND or VND filter to reduce the shutter speed, but I also need to remove glare from the surfaces of plant leaves or from the surfaces of cars, water, windows, etc., and I need to use a CPL filter.
    As you understand, these filters are meaningless separately and can be used, but only in rare cases.
    I would appreciate clarification on this aspect, as it significantly affects the functionality of the entire system and gives a clear answer whether it's worth buying or it will be money thrown to the wind.

    And I have a question:
    If you remove the filter on ( long range macro lens ) then does the lens become the 1.7 telephoto lens ??
    because I found many youtubers said that.
    Please try it and answer me.

      No I have both macro and 1.7. There’s no filter just UV protection. Both are pretty bad lenses for 15 pro max. U can play a bit with macro, but it’s very distorted on the edges, like curls all over in the blur area. If the surface is flat then it’s ok. But if there’s space behind the object it becomes a mess.
      1.7 telephoto I couldn’t find a use for it. It decreases quality and doesn’t give extra bokeh. Maybe with older phones it makes sense.

    Thank you for the honest and thorough review! Not bad for a first release of add-on lenses, but seems they have a ways to go before they challenge the more well known brands. I do applaud the selection of fixed ND filters as it seems variable ND filters are not without their flaws. Thanks again Jack, well done!
    BTW - I’d love to see your take on side by side lens comparisons. 👍🏻

      @JCKRGB  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks so much! Definitely, it must be so difficult to make mobile lenses with camera specs changing each year. But Freewell has a pretty good start here, and more competition is good to challenge all the other brands ✌🏻

    so is the long range macro lens only good for photos or can it be used to take a closeup video of a moving hummingbird that is hovering?

    • @JCKRGB
      @JCKRGB  10 месяцев назад

      Yeah the Long Range Macro is great for video too. But the focus distance ranges from about 8 to 12cm away from the lens, so might not be so useful for a hummingbird unless you can get that close! ✌🏻

    Appreciate the exacting pros/cons in your video. Very much. 🙂
    I'm currently comparing Moment T-Series to Beastgrip to Freewell to Sandmarc to Shiftcam. The Macro + Telephoto + ND filter workflow.
    Moment T-Series tele does not work on the iPhone 15 ProMax 5x. Beastgrip does and there is footage. Freewell tele is not out, Sandmarc and Shiftcam don't offer information about 5x compatibility. That the very best sensors are on the main camera could lead against a telephoto on the 5x. But there is independent footage on the Beastgrip 1.7 Tele on a 5x. It begs a few questions.
    It appears that Freewell / Shiftcam have the best long range Macro. And (drumroll) ... if you read the reviews on Shiftcam's website, half of the 34 are nightmarish with much commentary over non-existing customer support over obvious problems. For that reason, I will not sniff at Shiftcam. They have not even responded to those critical comments on their site, which would be common sense.

  • @quietboysince59
    @quietboysince59 8 месяцев назад

    A small addition. At 0:44 you show the case for the Anamorphic Lens and Filters kit. The rubber insert of this case leaves visible marks on the filter glass on the side where there is no thread. The entire part of the glass that is inserted into the recess gets dirty. I noticed this immediately as soon as I received this kit. That is, in addition to the need to wipe the filters every time, there is also a danger of scratching the filters when dust gets into the slots.
