As a type 2 on a pump (tandem t slim) I would recommend it to someone only on basal insulin. For a type 2 on basal bolus I would say get a standard insulin pump designed for type 1s. I love being on am insulin pump and I wish it was presented to me earlier as an option for insulin therapy.
I am type 2 and I don’t see how this would work for me because I have to have both Basil and bolus. Cause I would not wanna have to give shots for meals . I’m terrified of needles so Omnipod has helped me so much. I probably will never switch from it to any other pump due to ad I’ve seen the others you can see the needle. I am still new to the Omnipod only been using it since October 23 and it’s only Jan 24 now. But I started making TikTok’s about putting it on so hopefully it will help someone else who is also scared see they can be brave and do it and save their health cause I was truly going in a very unhealthy direction I had blood sugars over 500 and upwards of 600 at one time now I’m down and have saw my first low (which was scary ) Thank you so much for sharing all this info for someone like me who is always wondering these things and doesn’t know how to get the answers.
Glad I could provide ya with my content. When it comes to this pump, I believe it is meant for those with type 2 diabetes who need one long acting shot a day.
I'm a type 2 on basal bolus as well. I asked for a standard insulin pump like the kind for type 1s. My A1C has dropped from 8.7 to 5.8 being on the control iq/dexcom closed loop system in 3 months
I saw the Endocrinologist this morning. I've been on the Medtronic system for 3+ years now. I mentioned that I am interested in switching to the Dexcom with the omnipod possibly. He said the customer service from Omnipod is horrible. He said he told the local rep that he won't be recommending the device to anyone as a result.
I have been on Omnipod 5 and really do love it but the cost has doubled to 435.00 for 10 pods. which for me is 1 month with my insurance. I am going to switch I think to the Tandem Mobi as Medicare pays for this. @@shauntayecooper9489
I am type to and i was on two different types of insulin. I wouldn't want to switch right now i am on dexcom and omnipod. As a type 2 yes i have gone low allot so i don't understand anyone saying that type 2 normally don't
@jacqueankosh1281 it's crazy the people who's supposed to have so much knowledge about diabetes don't have the knowledge on type 2 . And people with type one think they are misunderstood 😕
Than why on OP5 do I always have say "yes the red tab" is in the correct spot after cannula insertion.. what's the point when it doesn't matter for GO and yet they have the same mechanics..
I use split "different " amounts of long acting insulin. This would not work for me. I can see this working with a new patient who is told how much to use. This can't be for long term use because with only 7 settings you can't get the right amount. Also I'm not afraid of needles

I didn't agree with him saying type 2s normally don't go low either. Type 2s not on insulin maybe. I have had plenty of lows.

I would've loved to hear this guys response for this during the interview. Like would it be " oh well t2 isn't as serious as t1"
I have type 2 I take several injections daily with meals etc. I would absolutely like wearing an Omni pod over giving my self multiple injections
That's great! Cool to hear this is a device you would like to use.
I would love this I have type 2 diabetes and on insulin
