Mam when I saw this idichakka recipe ..I remember my grandmother ...she used to make this ...exactly the same recipe ...I am from Calicut and this is authentic Kozhikode recipe...Thank you so much for your recipe....Hatsoff to you for your passionate cooking
We used to make Idichakka Toran'.,without garlic.. instead we use shallots,grated coconut, &dried red chillies.While seadoning(Kadu pottikkumbol)we use mustard,uzhunnuparippu,dried red chillies&curry leaves..😋😁From Thrissur (kodungallur)

Both my husband and I bought a ripe jackfruit here in US and we cut it open and it was a total mess the sticky stuff was impossible to get off omg, we had no idea what to do so we never bought anymore since then.

I have tasted idichakka thoran prepared like this and was very tasty and instead of green chilies red chilies are also good . This is different from my mother’s recipe which includes the use of coconut and turmeric . Thank you
