the beauty of this song is fucking unreal
The amount of people saying they're in their 40s and feeling young again is beautiful.
If any of the are reading this, I'm barely 21 but this kind of music makes me wish I got to experience the 80s like you did. A good chunk of my generation feels the same way too
I only got to enjoy the last part of the 80's. I was born in 84 and not the 70's sadly, but the late 80's and early 90's were really similar, but once 1992 came around, things really started changing. Music, television and movies became really different.
I am 16 years old and I want the same as you. Being in that decade and seeing the cars, listening to the music and watching the programs just when they came out and the video games. It is something I will always wish for.

Wait you can't...
... Fair enough lol
The Midnight makes music for people who need to be taken somewhere but can't get there themselves. Every single track they produce has a knack for transporting your body and spirit to a time in your life that you forgot or have to be reminded of.
Amen!
The 80s
Rush hour
On an uptown train
Doors open
As she walks in
She’s soaking
Caught in the rain
Her skin shines
Crystalline
Eyes meet
You know where this goes
Her keys in
They take off their clothes
They’re soaking
Caught in a dream
Her skin shines like
Crystalline
The problem with believers
They’ll let anyone in the door
The problem with deceivers
Is all the bodies buried under the floor boards
Sailors knew sirens would sing
From rocks off the cliffs by the sea
The monsters with waiting teeth
Their skin shines
Crystalline
Rush hour
On an uptown train
Doors open
As she walks in
She’s soaking
Caught in the rain
Her skin shines
Crystalline
Thank you!!!
My goodness that intro, that sax, that guitar, that bass, THAT EVERYTHING!!
Intro is from Gunship - Pink Mist
No one is capturing the best of the 80's better than this band right now... Seriously brilliant stuff they are making...
Gunship?
I think they both capture elements of the 80's! Like em both!!
Agreed. Try "LOME" by sound quelle. I cannot stop listening to that track. such an 80 retro beat. Absolutely love it.
Agreed!
I know I'm commenting 2 years later... but Lebrock, Dance with the Dead, and Timecop1983 are all also great comparisons right now. I just got recently hooked to The Midnight.
OMG. I am 44 now, and I am still stuck in the 80's. This music is just...wow....
Same age as me, nothing to be ashamed of being a 80s child, when life was hanging out with your mates, on bmx's, and being polite to anyone, not like today, no respect.........
57 here... I met "the one" in Portland Oregon when I was 22 and wild... We ran headlong into the wind and stopped to breathe in Phoenix where greener pastures led her astray... 35 years later, it's 2:30 am, I lay here listening and openly weeping...
38 mate, the music it´s just amazing.
You're not alone, fam.
I’m 37 just found them from Dutchsinse( the earthquake king) I can’t stop listen!!! I can’t wait for them tour the US!!!!
The Midnight completely captures the essence of the 80's like no other. This is exactly what the 80's felt like. I know, I was a teen in the 80's. The feeling of nostalgia is so strong. Thank you.
That sax ... ❤️ I discovered this track by jumping from one synthwave track to another and oh my god when I found this one ... 👌🏻 I now follow The Midnight on Spotify and each time I'm driving I listen to this particular track. My favorite 80's style track of all time.
Seconded. I have to hear this song 3x a day minimum. It might just be my favorite track ever now.
I'm 100% on board with this. I'm about to drop in a killer sound system in my truck this weekend. I bought a 10.1" Kenwood LED head unit, four 6.5" Focal door speakers paired to 1.5" oversized tweeters with an effective range of 98 decibels, Two 8" JL Audio subs with a JL 700 watt amplifier (will use the factory Sony 700 watt amplifier underneath the shift tower to power the speakers/tweeters. I plan on utilizing every single ounce of range this song has to its full potential!
This and Shadows, man i whole-heartedly agree, best songs for a long drive
Wow, this track is just as magical if not MORE SO than any other best 80s song!!
High energy, my heart is pounding. A lot of sensuality and energy...
I legit started tearing up when the sax solo started. I got transported back to my childhood in a fraction of a second. This. Is. Incredible.
That.......... Sax !!!![Eargasm]
👂💦
the comment having 111 likes is aesthetically pleasing just like the music which is aesthetically musically pleasing
9:35-est 5/18/23
Waiting on the return to Nashville so my daughter can experience her first concert. This her favorite song.
absolute genius, mimicking the 80s is one thing but you guys have modernised it tastefully and built on it as though 1984 has been going on for 30years.
how you create those chords and my god that SAX!!!!
I'll try my best to promote your work here in Adelaide Australia
SienaFoods I agree, well said!
I feel 1983 was a much better year in this context. Hence Timecop1983.
Been listening to The Midnight on a loop for about year. Makes my 44yo heart feel young again. This is my favorite of theirs and I feel 3 key influences in the song: “In the Air Tonight”, “You Belong to the City” (the sax, obviously), and Tangerine Dream’s Risky Business score. Just a great piece of music all-around.
Am I the only one that gets the sense that Crystalline might be a serial killer seducing dudes on the train?
Oh, it's a murder ballad for sure.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_ballad
Reminds me of something akin to "Species" if you've seen that flick.
Try out the State Azure remix of Love On A Real Train from the Risky Business soundtrack. Incredible song.
Vim pelo Adriano do canaltech só pra testar a quantidade do meu fone e gostei bastante
The intro reminds me Phil Collins In The Air Tonight
thought the same, but with the hint of love on a real train by tangerine dream
same. and the part before the sax.
I thought the same, amazing song.
@@fd3871 tangerin dream 70s real good they made some futuristic music 💖
Same right with you
When they upload my consciousness into the virtual reality in the future I hope The Midnight and the 80s aesthetic is available. Forever living in the best style and sound.
Whaaaaat an epic track...OMFG!!!! 80s..OMG OMG, the sax, the Synth, the voice, the grove, vibe!!!!
Atish Rath Nice isnt it? were you born in that era?
@@11Modern11 I was born in 1982. My uncle used to play synth. I actually grew up listening to music like this. But the sax man, THE SAX!!!!!
Every song that rocks a sax like this is 2nd to none.
Came here for a sax solo
Was not dissapointed
sameeeeee
With the Midnight you never get dissapointed
Manuel Hernandez factsssss
How much sax would you like with that..them YES
Listening to The Midnight takes me to a place I've never been, and yet is somehow familiar to me.
Hello fellow chrono trigger fan 😁
This and Vampires are two of their best in terms of the sax harmonies and how it meshes with the synth. AMAZING 🔥
This, Vampires & Jason
Quem diria que em um vídeo de teste de Fones Bluetooth eu ia achar uma música incrível dessas.
né? musica incrível mesmo!
Hahaha somos 3
Aliás, comprei o fone QCY QS2, ele é maravilhoso, excelente Grave, Excelente bateria, extremamente portátil.

Beautiful track. So nostalgic. Reminds me of those 80s Hollywood/Hong Kong films
The sax, the guitar, the drums, the vocals, everything, just amazing.
Vim pelo Canaltech... top a música
When the drums hit after that long interlude, goosebumps go down my spine.
I get goosebumps every time I listen to this song. It takes me back to 1982, standing outside on a warm summer night in San Diego, in shorts and a tank, watching the rain as it falls diagonally through the light of the street light on the corner, waiting for my boyfriend to come pick me up. I wish this song had been there with me then, but I'm glad it's here to take me back there now. This whole album is a beautiful ride.
Damn that sax touches the soul
This track has mystical energy... Sublime And Beyond Epic...
This song just feels wholesome. I love the vast range, the guitar and saxophone solos are perfectly executed in this. I'm having a monster sound system put in my truck this weekend and will be testing out the range and depth of my new system with this. Job well fuckin done, I'm seriously in awe listening to this song!
This song is perfect holy cow
The sax, the rolling synth and the non sensical vocals! 80’s rebirth! Love it!
2:24 absolutely in love with that 2 minute buildup that leads to one of the most satisfying and goosebump-inducing drops.
This ✅
S.O.S !! Like si pensas lo mismo.
Not one of your songs are bad, they are amazing. You are my new favorite band.
Just found this band a week ago and I’m so happy I did😄 this song is amazing, audio bliss.
love this style so much
Amazing track.
It's so beautiful! The sax❤
The song not ending when you expect it to is a really welcome surprise. Especially with that powerful Fm9 chord fading back in.
Temazo!!! Noche, Frio, Ciudad, Auto, año 80 .. magia!!! Saludos de Argentina!!
Ya te digo, menudo temazo.

AYYYOO THE BEAT DROPPED!!
You made a young feel young again. 😊 Well done! I love your music.
Reminds me of a more 80's version of M83. Good stuff!!!
man that drum entry along with the sax was lit as f.........
I’ve been listening to this album non-stop. Just a shame I didn’t find out about The Midnight sooner. Love your music.
Hands down one of the BEST songs in the genre!!💪💯🎹🎶😎 #80sKid
Omg 😍😍 was told to listen this as Phil Collins and Miami vice is my fave thing ever and this is giving me goosebumps...legit like a total remix of Phil and pure Miami vibes 👌🏼🔥

True World Class Masterpiece!!!!!
I listen to this album whenever I have to do an all-nighter for university. It makes everything better.
I love the bass with the sax. I play this super loud in my caddy lol.
The song is so good with the sax 🎷
When the drums kick in with that classic 1980s gated reverb I can feel it in my whole chest. I'm instantly transported back to my local pizza parlor with a pocket full of quarters, waiting for my turn at Spy Hunter or OutRun.
Mad how songs can take you back to when you was younger and make you smile thankyou
2:26 took me right back into the 80's. I even recovered a lost memory. Thank you!
Question: what's the difference between this track and the one NewRetroWave uploaded?
I know this is a late response, but these uploads are from their personal channel, where NRW is a channel based in putting out tracks from artists (predominantly synthwave), and giving them credit to boost popularity for the song and the artist. Usually most channels like that will either ask the artist, or the artist will ask them, to put the song up and a deal is made over split streaming revenue.
there are quite a few sites that post up music without permission, and those usually get into trouble, but channels like NRW (for synthwave), funky panda (for electro-swing), and trap nation (for trap rap, rap, and remixes) will get permission from artists and make a streaming revenue deal in exchange for a bigger exposure range of audiences.
Krist Stevens thank you for that; good to know!
You are right, at 2.26 it just takes you into another world! 💜
One of theeee finessst songs I have ever listened to... 💖💖💖💖💖
Just wow....so damn good. I have not heard a song that I just have not been blown away by. Just when I think , yeah that's my favorite song, here comes another! Can't get enough!
This embodies the love child of Night Court and Miami Vice. RIP Glenn Frey. The City is yours.
That dropp, no words! That Sax is magical.
That Phil Collins style drums and badass drop, monster track
Hits harder in the car when watching the heavy rain 🌧 come down.
The mood of this song is fucking inconceivable. Mind=Blown.
How in the world is this song not part of Cyberpunk 2077's soundtrack? I mean, when I listen to it, the first thing I think of is the very first teaser trailer CDPR released 6 years ago with the cybernetic chick with the dead bodies around her getting shot at...
MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
The Midnight should have done the whole thing and collaborated with Mitch Murder and MiamiNights1984 and Timecop1983 as well. Maybe even some Perturbator in there for insane gun fights. God I'm so ready for Cyberpunk.
@@JamesHammIII it will be worth the wait, my friend!
It's a shame Cyberpunk 2077 didn't utilize that many actual synthwave artists, if they did at all. That's far from the only disappointing thing about the game, but still...
@@channelwithout I think bands like the Midnight wouldn't exactly fit in with the overall tone of cyberpunk 2077, since the game is of a pessimistic nature, while the midnight mostly portrays an optimistic futurism.
