i dont think that the real time mechanic is good at all
I think a shield based attack with the triggered skills for AoE might be fun. It would let you focus on single target, while having the triggers to help clear.
Big note about the auction house, reveal stream said just currency but its actually ALL stackable items, oils, essence, etc. maps and incubaters cant be traded on it, but fragments can.
Thank goodness, it was always that part of trading that was the most obnoxious and irritating, great to see progress finally being made. :)

I don't think the other ARPG's had anything to do with it. This is PoE1's last league prior to the launch of PoE2's early access, and as was mentioned in this video, much of this stuff they've been sitting on for years and is highly experimental. I think they just wanted to throw it all out there before PoE2 launched, even if some of the new systems and mechanics will be broken or are a little half baked. They almost have to be. Idk how they couldn't be when you add 2 dozen gameplay impacting mechanics that all interact with one another in addition to interacting with the hundreds of existing mechanics.... and I'm totally fine with that!

As much as I tried to like LE and Diablo IV, PoE is out of this world and a league of it's own. You cannot compare any of the current aRPG's with PoE. These guys at GGG are giving their best and deserve every dollar and success. /respect GGG
yeah for hardcore arpg players, for the more casual players it isn't it and often enough the casual players are the ones with money.

P2W MMO's live off of the very rich that invest a lot in those games despite being a very small minority of their playerbase, and those are usualy people that invest a lot of time playing those games. That's just an example but there are many others.
I'm a very hardcore PoE player and made (just left) a shit ton more money than most people do by the end of their career, and i'm below 30. Not every hardcore player is a no lifer without a job. In fact, I'd go as far as saying people who enjoy grinding PoE hard to achieve goals ingame probably enjoy doing that IRL too you know.

They played and loved D2, and thought D3 was never coming out, and that's why they made Poe, specifically because they wanted more. True gamers making games, not the crap we're getting from the big gaming corps.

I honestly feel like they are setting this up as a replacement for hideouts in the future. Giving you are building a town which can include map devices. Which is very cool. I am just not sure how it will work from league to league or how hideout layouts will work.
GGG woke up and chose to give us another game inside the base game and make so many changes that you'll probably need days to read the patch notes

Yeah its one of those technically free to play games when in reality it gets a LOT more enjoyable once youve spent like 40-50 bucks for stash tabs

It feels to me a bit like Harvest league mechanically: A lot of set-up, but then it mostly runs itself, and you just add some "essence" to your plantation/town every now and again.

One of my biggest complains with poe and something that usually drove me off the game was that feeling that i was getting punished for not knowing already how to build a character and i would have to re-level all over again until i get it right (or watch a build guide) those news were so good man, i definitely giving another shot to the game this league again (even more with melee re-balancing) :D
What are you talking about? Scours are unbelievably easy to find, I started playing in the ancestor league and changed my build and atlas multiple times. You can swap 4 chance orbs for 1 scour, buy them from tujen fairly cheap, etc. You can also just ask for them in chat. Again, first league I played the game and I gave like 70 to a guy that was asking for it in the chat. It was super easy.
@@grev3471 im talking about being very casual here, i have like... 90 hour at most in this game, usually i dont keep going when i reach maps, fell into some ''build trap videos'' in some of the attemps that i made trying to play the game, so i dunno how easy is after that point, but personally i never got many regret or scour orbs in the campaign to fully re-spec my character, point is: sounds like its going to be easier to re-spec and im happy for it.
@@grev3471 They are easy to get but like other loot... it's basically exponential. A new player might take 10 hours to respec because they don't know how- might as well just make a new character. A few of the big streamers make enough money to respec just on appreciation of their assets in the time it took me to write this post.
I still think they should put about 100 more respec points in the campaign- mostly hidden out of the way so new players exploring will pick them up but veterans will bypass.
@@grev3471 stop gatekeeping :) Not all players are good, I got almost 2k hours over 10 years, and even I find the game so annoying and anti-player. All these huge improvements will certainly make the game more enjoyable. I haven't played in the last 2 years due to being frustrated with the game, but I'll also give this league a shot, and I'm calling back all the members of my old guild that haven't logged in years either!
I felt so miserable to log in at league start and see my list of 20+ friends made over the years offline! Nowadays, we just have the hardcore and the new players who aren't frustrated yet, but with this update I truly believe we can bring back the old player base! If it's good, I'm buying packs!

Basically Player owned port/player owned farm from RuneScape with POE/ARPG twist.
That was the one thing I loved about RS3
I like how they incorporated it into other aspects of the game. The workers you hire to initially gather resources to build your town can then be used to protect shipments, and even run maps for you. They can be killed or taken captive, etc.
There is just SO MUCH this league.
I watched the trailer first and was cringing since i abhore real time progression stuff but with the sheer amount of shit they added i can hopefully ignore the entire town part and very hopefully not miss out on that much loot and just enjoy the base game again

I've only played one league of POE a couple of years ago and was quite overwhelmed by the complexity. I am going to give it my all for this season!
The ONLY thing missing is for us to be able to board the ship expeditions to protect it, then we'd pretty much have Patrician (the videogames) in PoE as PART of a league mechanic. Settlers is gonna be crazy

The Dancing Dervish Unique Sword no longer has "Manifested Dancing Dervishes disabled both weapon slots". It now has "Cannot be used while Manifested", meaning you can now weapon swap after Manifesting Dervishes and still use items in your second weapon set. HOLY FRAK

But this one comes close. I adore the re-spec with gold and QoL currency updates. A also really love the systems around creating a settlement. Ya, I'm finally looking forward to a league in POE.
I haven't even played it, and I want that town in future POE release's. I also Love the melee rebalance!
11:40 Probably asking too much but it would be fun if the atlas runner NPCs could gain levels and/or you can give them gear to increase their odds of survival. With that gear lost if they die. Be kind of a way to drain a bit of the item pool since it appears trading will be generating a lot of gear out of nowhere.

I don't play this game, but it's nice seeing people happy once in a blue moon about what a company is doing to their game. I'm guessing this is a game I'd need a lot of free time to enjoy.
Retaliation skills are gonna be really good - I'm calling it now. Two 6 links if you use 2h weapons. One main skill, one retaliation skill.
Really excited for the league, but I wished the supporter packs had an option to make them cheaper and remove the point reward from them.
The paladin armor is sick, but 50€ is still a lot.
Fuck me I need a t17 farmer this league for sure. I still haven't done shaper solo. Only zerg through some of the t17. Each league I get further and further than my previous PB

This is insane. i haven't played POE in a while for many reasons but mainly i wanted to just wait for 2.0 at this point, i don't have a lot of time to play and i hate doing same exact campaign every league and i absolutely despise trading in this game which you have to do if you casually pay to have any chance and i hate gem slots in weapons and armor. but this update seems too good to miss out on.
What do you mean have a chance? Its basically a single player game and you dont have to compete with streamers. Just play at your pace and have a good time. Have a guy in my guild thats never even seen a red map and he has a blast every league. Its all about perspective!

It's amazing how one company only offers 3 flavors of lemonade for tons of money and another has endless flavors, they are always refrigerated and if you don't like it you can get your money back.
i feel as theres a big risk of it either being a 100% thing youll be doing as an average player or its gonna just be a ton of playin the waiting game for those who play a lot. hopefully they found a balance because it looks like its own little game with enough to make you ignore the whole basegame

There are a lot of nice changes currency AH, gold respec and so on, but the league mechanic with some "time barriers" could be bad for players who have less time to play because in some way it feels mandatory to "wait". Can you buy "skip time diamonds pack" or "buy more resources chest" only for 19.99 for best value? :D

Unbound fury seems like a way better version of the usual periodical skill tho. Its basically berserk but unbound fury stacks instead that you can push pretty high with fast attack speed and multi ailment builds, even with just one ailment as long as youre hitting 5 enemies with one hit and you have 1 aps you still get 33% uptime resulting in an average of 27% more damage. With one extra ailment its already 50% and with all 3 basic ones you have like 66% uptime which should be nuts for nuking bosses. (If im interpreting the wording correctly
Mark at the head of poe 1 and their way more risk friendly approach to poe 1 development is fucking amazing. I hope they never stop risking weird shit to see if it works.
If you get T1 increased crit chance on a prophecy wand, you can have 13.8% base crit with sandstorm visage. This sounds like a buff to hexblast mines
