My daughters favorite question was, "why mum?" or, "but why mummy - why?" She would almost sing it. She loved my explanations for things or my favorite thing was to make her try and figure out the answer for herself such as why the lights changed from red to green. A great time to educate and teach them how to teach themselves.

No joke, back in elementary school me and my best friend at the time started a "club" called the Why Girls lmfao. We'd just agreed to start saying "why?" to everything. During school. Teacher hated it haha.

Meanwhile, my kids are afraid to ask "Why?" about anything they don't want answered *very* thoroughly. ("Why?" "I dunno, kiddo. Let's go look it up right now . . . Hey, look, there's an hour-long documentary on it!" Sometimes they do actually watch the documentary, though, and we all learn something.)
My father pulled the same shit but without the research, he'd just start talking and after 9, maybe 15, tangents he'd realize it was time for work and leave. My mother would try to answer but rarely knew or had resources to look. I was given so much false information as a kid just to shut me up.

I stopped asking my dad questions cause i "grew" for that faze, who knew if i was right or wrong but i hate depending on my father for information and especially money cause he doesn't like it and i sound childish.
hahaha literally me when my lil sis was growing up. shes 9 now but she'd ask everyone so many why questions when she was 2-7 and my family's worst fear was that she'd ask me and then they'd all have to listen to me sit down and actually answer her every single time😂

You have my sympathies bud, I was fortunate enough to make it to my fifties without having to deal with parenthood though I did experience some close calls, and now it's smooth sailing the rest of the way. Best of luck to you and the road ahead.
