As soon as he arrived home Marvin was shot by his father stemming from an argument about the way his father was treating his mother. There was also an argument over an insurance policy which seemed to aggravate the argument.

I respectfully disagree. After one of his divorces his ex wife's settlement was the royalties on his next album. They said Marvin intentionally tanked the album to get back at her. No hits from album and it went into absurity.
He was and still is my favorite musician of all time. I've watched the documentaries of his life and I cry all the time when I think of him on how his life ended. It's just so sad that his own father shot and killed him. Wish I could have attended one of his concerts before he died
