It won't sput another trend because man are not obsessed with tiktok trends. We are obsessed with empire.
y'all are obsessed with video games and degeneratePORN.
hardly impressive.
It is a huge achievement
Yes.
The roman empire isnt random, It's literally the basis of our society. Once you go down the rabbit hole you literally see its latin influence everywhere.
There's a reason Roman Numerals are on most currencies around the world. It interacted with all three Abrahamic religions. Ruled most of the known world for hundreds of years.

Agreed. Everything about modern-day society across all 7 societies, including even Antarctica, wouldn't be the same without the Roman Empire. Its influence is too monumental to not think about.
“Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they had loved her.”

bruhhh im a male non tiktok user and no lie i actually do think about it a lot, before i discovered this trend my mind would sometimes randomly wander around roman/greek conquests, democracy, religion, law, mythology, etc, not even having any particlar trigger for it, and i thought it was just a quirky/bizzare trait that was unique to me, or very very few people. now im glad that im more neurotypical at least among people of my own gender, than i thought.
“… which RANDOM topic….”. We are so different that she can’t even understand that it’s not random at all.
What if the only reason I don’t think about the Roman Empire daily is because I think of other empires. There’s just to many.
A literal Smörgåsbord of Empires. All beautiful in their own unique way.
But ROME!
I’m more of an Alexander guy myself, but the Roman Empire was more enduring.

Anyone who’s interested in world history will think about the Roman Empire a lot
I’m gay and not at all that masculine, but I like imagining what it must’ve been like to live in such a huge country so long ago
Just the fact that you could travel from Northern Africa to southern Britain and still be in the same country is amazing to me
Also, I was in London recently and I visited the old London wall, it just awe struck me the fact that it’s been standing there for almost 2000 years
Most of the romans wer gay to do
Why would you imagine that?
I mean I think about Latin because I have anatomy diagrams on my walls, I'm studying the earliest Christian gospels which were written in ancient Greek originally. But what would be the purpose of *imagining yourself specifically* dressed up like a Roman? That's not even "thinking" about the Roman empire, that's playing a mental movie in your head called imagination.
Also you couldn't have traveled. It's a rare person that ever left their village, people who left their villages might only be soldiers (or rare traders) and really only to a nearby village to invade. People weren't walking from Tunisia to Hadrian's Wall. Which goes to my point about imagining. When you fantasize about something, you're not seeing the real thing, you're making your own projected image of those times and you are almost always inaccurate in making that projection. Most people's projections are made from chopping up Gladiator and Passion of the Christ together.
you being gay doesn't mean that you don't idolize the same ultramacho crap that hetero men do.
if anything, gay culture is INCREDIBLY macho and misogynistic, just look at the way you refer to "bottoms" and any gay dude that is scrawny or has soft features.
the average gayporn isn't "delicate" by any means.
Watch reruns of Will & Grace, not an episode goes by without the 2 main gay men treating the lead actress like she's a fool or obnoxious, and making some comment about how being with a woman grosses them out.
so of course you get off on these ideas of having power over vast land and whatever other bs.
you're in denial.
bahahaha @@Utilizador-gs3lx

As a huge warhammer fan, I think of the Roman Empire predominately due to its association to the XIII Legion, ultramarines. They use the roman glaive, a short sword - Many wears the laurel leaf crown or the Galea helmets, etcetera.

There is not an educated European out there who doesn't think of the Roman Empire all the time, male or female. The language I speak literally comes from the Romans as do the roads I use (originally) and if I think of my ancestors or any history it obviously includes the Roman Empire. All roads lead to Rome
For me it’s ancient Celtic and Norse mythology
We men think about more relevant things like politics, history, military, engineering and architecture… that’s why when women do think about an ancient civilization it’s often about mythology. Something downright useless
@@Poiuytrew-uq7dl mythology is steeped in history, politics, architecture, engineering etc. Mythology is very much part of history and if you spent any time studying it you would know it’s highly allegorical and culturally significant.
@@casfox Sure, dear
Kudos to you because you’re actually very right.
I enjoy Celtic mythology especially, a great deal, not only is the founding of most nations historically tied in some way to mythology like the first Emperor of China king Yu creating all of the tributaries of China with the aid of a dragon or he himself was a dragon, mythology is actually extricably woven into the fabric of every culture.
I’m starting the Arthurian myths by Leah Tether, part of the flame tree mythology series, but boy is King Arthur a hugely important figure in English and Welsh mythology, first mentioned in the Y Gododdin by Aneirin sometime between the 6th-11th centuries, he is also tied to French culture because Chrétien de Troyes based some aspects of Arthur's character and personality on a noble patron of his, named Philip d’Alsace(a chivalrous knight from Flanders I believe...) but of course in the Welsh legends he represents Welsh resistance against the invading Anglo-Saxons, again hugely important figure as a foundational national myth of Wales.
Good on you. Ignore those two goofballs.
@@Paser00 I’ve recently started learning a bit of Welsh mythology myself. I had always assumed it was shared amongst the ancient Celts but not so. There are similarities and variations. Very fascinating!

I think the latin music in games contributes to this heavily. Ive often heard from boys and men who play games that when the sky or the sea starts speaking Latin, or the bosss monster has a Latin theme its over.
As a student of Law, it is an everyday thing to come to mind.
Law revolves around power, morality, politics, legal systems, rights and public order and then the Roman Empire comes to discussion every time... again, again and again.
And it has become so natural to talk about it that we do it almost unconsciously now. haha
When it cones to politics, morality and rights then the roman empire was literally rhe worst of the ancient empires. Like what? The greeks and especially the persians had far more sophisticated and civilized societies, but people who know nothing wanna badwagon this weird silly trend. Like what is this logic? There is no hope for humanity when backwards bby 🧠 people think they are somehow profound intelllectuals who spend their time pondering about the roman empire lmao. If you spend every day thinking about it then you better have done some insane analysis and ideas about, so lets hear it brother. Did you come to any conclusions thinking about it? Cause what you wrote here is meaningless surface level ramblings
Roman empire is like thinking about random sports cars for men.
To be honest, I have been researching Greek Mythology for the last month in my spare time
Im a Vikings guy. Till Valhalla
I'm pretty late but I'm a woman and think about the Roman empire a lot. Although, I tend to be a bit more interested in Bronze Age civilizations like Sumer and Ancient Egypt. I'm also really interested in the Mongol Empire and Imperial China. But I also have Autism so I'm probably a bit of an outlier in the wider female population.
I had a dream of me and the boys building Athens just to be raided by some weird dudes from Persia, then the Roman Empire. I know Nero comes in muuuuch later, but somehow Nero (Fate universe version 🤦🏼♂️) came in and announced, "Nobody rules Rome but me) and helped us (Athens) fend off Roman soldiers
I'm not male, but I do think about the Roman empire a pretty whole lot. My autocorrect even capitalized Roman in sheer reverence apparently, twice. I tend to lean towards either scholarly critical analysis of the bombastic shit these many lads did during each of their reigns, or saucy yaoi romance fantasies, especially with Caesar and this one guy Nicomedes(I think? Memory is a little foggy) when Ceasar was a foreign exchange student that one time. It's real guys.
Hm, that sounds like the real Roman empire that you're thinking about when you read Japanese comics.
next month: why is domestic violence on a steep rise? :D
i just learnt about this and i died.. what the actual fuck?! 😂
I don't think about the Roman empire I usually think about Pirates when they used to to roam around the Earth
Also reveals that women do not really know their man.
I think about it constantly and wish I was there. And I have since I was born. I also think about how mechanized and soulless and devoid of real experience life is in the modern Era. How far removed it is from nature
I do think of the Roman Empire, but honestly the Glory of the Mongol Empire is greater
more important question, what do people that don't think about the roman empire (and things like it) think about? Do they just wake up every day and assume all these buildings and infrastructure came pre-packaged with earth? are their days filled with worrying about your social standing among your friends, or their monotonous job, or this weeks fashion?
it's not even the roman empire (and republic) in particular, it's everything. we think about the mongols, and the huns, and the chinese dynasties, and the japanese shogunate, and the malaccas strait trade empires, and the indian maharajas, and the persian empires, and the macedonian diadochi, and the ancient egyptians, and the caliphates, and the mali trade routes, and the spanish reconquista, and the portuguese explorers, and the british colonies, and the holy roman empire, and the polish lithuanian commonwealth - i could go on. their structures, and their politics, and their economies, and their culture and philosophy, and their art and cuisine affect literally everything around us.
being stuck churning your mind over thinking about the petty day to day shit sounds so depressing. everyone should entertain abstract and unrelated things like the roman empire daily
Bro there are plenty of people out there who unironically think the world is currently 2023 years old
I think them thinking about it so often has nothing to do with their gender. More with the fact whether they're interested in history or not.

an angle of understanding of why this is could also be the fact that Christianity and the Roman empire are so fundamentally connected historically. If you think about the New Testament regularly, then you are likely thinking of the Roman empire.
the female version seems to be how often do they thing about thier former best friend that is not longer their friend.
for men, we hadly can watch star wars, play warhammer, or read or watch anything related to western history, culture, food, language, science, art, christianity, etc, or even watch the news without thinking once or twice in the roman empire.
Woman lags behind in nerd topics in general unfortunately
You're asking men of the West, who live in the current globally dominate empire, how often they think of the empire that birthed their entire history and are surprised by the response? Latin is still used in the legal and medical professions. Regardless of what European tribe you connect to, Rome influenced it.
If I'm not mistaken, the classification of living things is also in Latin (animal and plant kingdom)
I have to imagine at least some women do this too. How do you go through a whole week without considering, as a civilization:
1) where we are
2) how we got here
3) where we go next (if anywhere)
4) despotic tyrants
5) how to prevent atrocities
6) your ethical responsibilities to other people
That really feels like taking the whole world for granted
I'm surprised it took this long for them to make it about women.
The roman empire isnt random. The roman society as a whole was arguably the greatest society in history up until modern western society. Its crazy how people(women) think its weird to think about things that are important and relevant. You know be educated.
Bizzare?
Men think about the Roman Empire because it was a great civilization that laid the basis for our society and government, women think about the Salem Witch Trials because they fantasize about being oppressed so they can complain about it. We are not the same.
Leave Diocletian alone, he just wants to grow his cabbage.
They had to make it about themselves
The fall of the Roman Empire is similar to the fall of the United States which is what we currently going thru. It isn't weird to think about parallels in historical events. It is really dumb to not learn from history though.
USA is not an empire although it's the world's leading power. Assuming it IS an empire, you've only been an empire for 80 years (1940-now). How dare you compare yourselves with the longest standing and most influentional empire in the history of mankind. Check yourselves.
I tried explaining that to a woman one day, how things started to go downhill after the sexual revolution of 1969, how the income gap widened drastically, how the family unit has been disintegrating in a way eerily similar to Rome in accordance with the culture epoch cycle of societies, all that for her to called me a misogynist
We are doomed

Women's Roman Empire: True Crime?
I don’t think about history much. I’m a woman who spends a lot of time thinking about time, space, and the universe. I wonder about the cross section of other dimensions with what we perceive. I think about the future. I do watch some recaps of reality tv for amusement. I’m currently consumed with a kpop group and their recent release, Korean culture, and learning more of the language. I enjoy gambling and I’m scheduling a casino trip for Thanksgiving weekend. I think about the battle of Stalingrad from time to time and the American Civil War, but I guess since I pursued a BS,, I didn’t get an education steeped in liberal arts firmat of Western European centric teaching. Mine was more Organic Chemistry centric focus. Yeah, I’m preoccupied with the universe ad the possibility of continuous non-theistic life. Of course women have to turn the subject to being about them. No one is asking why men are thinking about the Roman empire.

Never think about roman empire. Are they gamers then I'm not surprised
It's just because males and females are different. I already knew women don't think about the Roman Empire already. Whenever I've had a conversation with a girl about anything that's not gossiping or a about a reality TV show or about sex or about celebrities (the common thing about these things is that they are all people-focused topics), their eyes just gloss over, you can see they're really bored. But when men are alone we have long conversations about space or conspiracy theories or planes and everybody is enjoying themselves. Men think mostly about things, women think mostly about people. This has been scientifically proven for decades and common knowledge for centuries, probably millennia before that (even back in the Roman Empire they knew this). Yet in 2023 we act like it's a new discovery, it's sad how far we have fallen.
Our ancestors, from every human culture, from every place in the world, in every era, in every religious/occult text, in every language, have repeatedly told us that men and women think differently and that they are NOT the same. So that's how I already knew this, because I actually listened to those people and noticed the same patterns they're talking about in the world around me.
How stereotypical and biased. Yes women and men do think differently BUT researchers stressed that just because the two sexes think differently, this does not affect intellectual performance. Men think more with their grey matter( a brain type of tissue) while women think more with their white.
I’ll gladly tell you that psychologist and researchers that their findings show that in general, men have nearly 6.5 times the amount of gray matter related to general intelligence compared with women, whereas women have nearly 10 times the amount of white matter related to intelligence compared to men.
If women only think about people while men discussed the big things then there wouldn’t be any female scientists, physicists, engineers, astrophysicists, teachers, lawyers, psychologists, doctors, neuroscientists and et cetera.
Please we’re in 2023 enough with your gender bias, your statement is a classic mansplaining.
"whenever I've had a conversation with a girl"... 5 years ago, on the internet?
You mean, WOMEN?
those conversations say more about the kind of women you hang around with, than about women themselves.
I think you just talk to thots. Lots of women are interested in those things, too
@@Xela07727 He is correct in saying that men are more object oriented whereas women are more people oriented. Where he drops the ball is in saying this means men are only interested in grand intellectual topics while women are only interested in shallow, superficial ones.
The majority of intelligent men gravitate towards STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields, while the majority of intelligent women gravitate towards fields that require emotional intelligence, like education, healthcare and visual design. Meanwhile, a roughly equal amount of men and women are talented at art, music, writing and poetry. These are all important pursuits that advance human development.
Men and women complement each other and both play a crucial role in advancing society.
@@Xela07727aren't feminists crying because women simply do not take STEM classes? There are always exceptions to the rule, but I'd wager 95%-98% of engineers are male. Bare minimum 80% of scientists I'd wager as well.
Meanwhile nursing, psychology, teachers, event planners, real estate ect. Are all mostly women....it's almost like men like tinkering with things and women want to learn more about what makes people tick. Stop being so self hating, there is nothing wrong with being in those fields. We complement each other, stop making it a competition.
