I think of the Romans every time I see our government and society repeating the same mistakes they did that brought the empire to ruination.
Right On.
The Roman's did not fall when Rome fell. The Roman's took proper recourse. The Roman's fell in Constantinople. In 1453. And due to fact that they relied on mercenaries.
"For the ruin of Italy has been caused by nothing else, than by resting all of her hopes for many years on mercenaries."
-Machiavelli, Niccolo "The Prince" Chapter XII How Many Kinds of Soldiery There Are and Concerning Mercenaries
@@peppolobuondelmonteI think you’re confusing the Roman Empire with the Holy Roman Empire, which are not the same thing.
The real question is: do you think about a solution?
@@ryankelly9032 I believe you want it to be one way, but it's the other way. For example seek John Romer: Byzantium

She literally described what she is obviously thinking about.
Exactly right. Obviously, all she knows about the Roman Empire comes from the one movie.
She is an example of someone lacking a classical education.
She has no clue to the extent to which our founders studied the failures of Greek Democracy or concentration of power and special interests within the Roman Republic that guided them in designing a Republic that might endure and escape those ancient shortcomings and excesses. Sadly, the 16th and 17th amendments broke the constraints.
😆😆😆
@jamesbooth3360 She's only watching the damn movie to see a sweaty Russel Crowe in a shiny outfit. She dgaf about history or politics. You can't even finish the word "educate" without her thinking about her nails.
It's a trait known as "projection", which is very common among left wing thought.

That ladies husband is BASED. He was spot-on with the comparisons of Ancient Rome and of the USA today. They keep us distracted with a plethora of vices-from drugs, sex, porn, beer, gambling, cigarettes, junk food, and other bread and circus. If we actually stopped and took a look about what our government and leaders are actually doing, we would be disgusted and terrified at the same time.
The problem is when the disgusted awake point out what’s wrong the asleep sheep just baaa in opposition.
There's some similarities but not an accurate comparison to modern America due our technology especially our ability to communicate and relay information over long distances in seconds as well as our ability to use automobiles, aircraft, weaponry etc powers that the Romans would have thought that only gods possessed, I'm not sure how ancient how an ancient roman would describe but I suppose they would ask how these men in steal chariots can travel at such speed and ease are they gods??? did the gods give them that power???
Bread and circuses 🎪
Terrified.
It’s funny that this is suddenly a scoop, 40 years ago it was just a random fact for anyone outside the US.
As a woman I have thought of the Roman Empire a lot! When gladiator came out and my husband and I watched it after it was over I told him that America is going the way of the Roman Empire. He didn’t agree but as the years have passed he has brought up that conversation and now he agrees we are headed to self destruction.
usa is already destroyed. its in a coma being artificially kept alive. makes you wanna cry
My wife has not asked me how often I think about the Roman Empire because she's not on TikTok. That's the win, right there.
Anyone who doesn't have a TikTok account is easily 50 IQ points up on those who do.
Not showing off. But seriously i didn't understand this trend. Honestly i still dont.
My wife married Tik Tok and went on a honeymoon with it .
I didn't know about this trend until I saw this video so I asked my husband and he told me he thinks about it often because he studies and reads the Bible so much. I guess I think about it too then.

I hardly think about the roman empire BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I DO THINK ABOUT EVERYDAY? THE ILLEGA ALIENS. DO YOU KNOW WHY? IT'S BECAUSE I AM A THIRD GENERATION HISPANIC AMERICAN AND I LIVE IN SOUTH TEXAS BY THE BORDER IN DONNA AND EVERYWHERE I GO WE ARE OUTNUMBERED BY DEADBEAT ENTITLED ILLEGAL ALIENS ON WELFARE, FREE HOUSING, FREE MEDICAL ETC. THESE ILLEGAL ALIEN HAVE PERMEATED THE WHOLE SOUTH TEXAS CAUSING TRAFIC ACCICENTS WITH NO DRIVER LICECES OR INSURANCE. THEY DELAY THE WORKING CLASS IN SOUTH TEXAS BECAUSE THEY HAVE PERMEATED THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY. THE ILLEGAL ALIENS BRING FENTENAL TO MURDER PEOPLE AND HUMAN SMUGGLIING OF CHILDREN TO RECYCLE THEM AND ALSO THEY SMUGGLE SEX TRADE WORKERS. SOME OF THEM ARE VERY WELL OFF BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALOT OF SHADY PRACTICES. IN SHORT THAT WHAT I THINK ABOUT JUST ABOUT EVERYDAY BECAUSE I DREIVE AND I HAVE ALREADY BEEN HIT TWICE BY THE BIG TRUCKS THAT THEY DRIVE SO NOTING HAPPENS TO THERE VEHICES AND SINCE THEY DON'T HAVE INSURANCE OR DRIVER LICENCES AMERICANS HAVE TO PAY HEAVY INSURANCE SO THAT THEIR DEDUCTABLES ARE LOW. THROUGH OUT THE YEARS ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE COMMITTED NUMEROUS MURDERS AND VIOLENT ACT. THEY ARE NOT AS INNOCENT AS THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA MAKES THEM OUT TO BE. THAT THEY ARE ONLY HERE TO WORK. IN ADDITION, NEEDING A JOB IS NOT WHAT ASYUM IS FOR. THEY HAVE ONE SKILL AND ONE SKILL ONLY. DEFRADING AMERICA AND GETTING THE AMERICAN PUBLIC TO PAY FOR IT SO IN THE FUTURE THEY AND THERE ANCHOR BABIES WILL VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS. THEY ARE THE NEW CONSUMERS AND VOTER BASE FOR THE DEMOCRATES TO REPLACE US.
Democracy sucked back then and it still sucks now.
Well it's called Classical Republicanism, Rome and Greece both had the same political system in which leaders were selected by ballot rather then being hereditarily granted their position.
Greece didn't exactly fall to tyrants, rather a few centuries of squabbling between city-states lead each one trying to exert power and influence over the other, until eventually around 338 B.C., Philip started his conquest to conquer all of Greece in order to unify it, which eventually would be carried on be Alexander who accomplished just that.
A Greek named Plato actually Wrote "The Republic" well before the Roman Empire.
Rome also started to have issues with single parent households, family collapse, population decline and gender confusion towards the end of the Empire.
Yup facts 💯 an alot of people dont understand it has come an gone again an again just different each time.
Same with the Etruscans before the rise of Rome.

Romans, Weirmar Republic, Ottoman Empire, Aztecs, the first two Reichs ….all of them thought they were too big to fall
Including the Weimar Republic in this list is pretty perverse. One of these things is nothing like the other.
The Roman Empire was talked about in Daniel and Revelation. And it prophesied that out of it will come a religious system aka the Roman Catholic Church that will twist the truth of the Bible and martyr millions that did not bow to the popes and their dogmas. From 538 to 1798 known as the Middle Ages or dark ages they killed millions that they considered heretics by feeding to the lions and burning at the stake.
The Bible warns that just before Jesus returns a global dominance of this religious system will rise again and its tyranny will be repeated with the help of apostate Protestantism, Christins who have rejected Bible truth but have influenced civil authority to enforce what they believe are Bible principles. Church and state will united as did with the Roman Catholic Church and will begin in America and extend to the rest of the world. False worship will be enforced. Sunday worship, the day of the sun, earth day to save our planet in opposition to Gods 7th day Sabbath will be mandated to keep holy. This is a Catholic pagan teaching and directly defys the authority of God who said in his 4th commandment, Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, 6 days you labor and do all your work but the 7th day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
The Catholic Church (leadership, not members) believes it is Gods representation on earth and has the authority to change Gods law. This is a pagan institution and they will enforce false worship very soon as they lead the movement in climate change.

Lot more of us out there than most would believe and some are even descendents of vets of the revolution
His analysis is a little off. The Roman Empire wasn't, and never sought to be, nor ever expressed itself as being an egalitarian state. There was a particular hierarchy to society. It was a slave-holding society from it's birth to collapse, and those slaves were at the bottom. Then there were freemen who couldn't vote but could more or less participate in the marketplace freely. Plebeians, who were citizens, could vote and own more property. And at the top, the Patricians, who were the descendants of the founders of Rome and they held most of the political power. And within those structures, men were above women. Women couldn't vote for example but many women were literate (particularly among patricians) and were shop owners or even managed their family estates.
All that said, sometimes people of humble origin, poor, or even former slaves could rise up to have enormous wealth and power.
Looks were always decieving. And education does not equals wisdom.
That's not the only thing, by the time the Western part of the empire fell, the population was no longer a majority of Romans, but barbarians and immigrants.
Barbarians and immigrants, does that sound familiar?

We are living through that right now.
Truth
Spot on, this is what crosses my mind all the time. United we stand, divided we fall
I feel like it's about time for us to fail. What happens afterwards is up in the air, but the foundation is crumbling in the USA, and I'm getting pretty tired of it at this point. And I only see it getting worse with the introduction of deepfakes becoming more and more close to completion, eventually this will be used for the gaslighting of civilians to such extremes that something is going to snap. I could see them using it to rally up marginalized demographics and having them pit against each other without either side knowing why they are doing, and at such a scale that just doesn't compare to previous years.
America=Neo-Roman Empire.
A couple of things about the Roman Empire I would love to bring back:
-Actors being the bottom rung on the societal ladder
-Schooling which actually prepares young people for adulthood/the workforce
I think about this every time one of these professional liars tries to voice an opinion. I wish we could bring back actors being shunned and ignored. I think that “imagine” video a bunch of them made during the pandemic really brought that point home. They were widely ridiculed and finally actors stopped making pandemic lockdown videos from their 10,000 sq foot homes, telling the rest of us it’s not that bad.
At the time of Shakespeare, actors were considered subversive and lazy and thus were not allowed in London. His Globe Theater was located outside London city limits back then.
@endofdaysanarchy 🤣 We fell short.
schools do, you just choose poorly and don't listen. i learned basic finance, taxes, how to read and follow directions, basic math, building skills, writing reports, speech etc. it's just nobody wants to be there. they listen to the programming that schools are oppressive and learn the infinite genders and Never read a page of a textbook. Gets even worse in college.
I'd bring back the office of dictatorship.

Every woman in the comment section that feels the need to declare, “I’m a woman and I think about the Roman Empire” is literally part of the collapse of the current empire. Just stfu and stop trying to make stuff about you. Women today literally take any topic and try to make it personally about themselves. I don't really know the origin of this trend or what the inspiration is, besides seeing a few thumbnails this is the first vid I've clicked on about it lol
But I agree 100%. You could just ask how often you think of history period, and too many would say never or hardly at all.
There is so much to learn from it, but I guess some never even learn from their own history x.x
I am a guy, and have always loved history but I know many are turned off of it in school because there are a lot of teachers out there that don't teach it as anything but names and dates to memorize for a test.
I'm super thankful both my nieces love history too despite school experiences. Hope more young people will have an attitude to learn from the past, we sure need it.

The man is 100% correct. I always was taught that you can determine the downfall of a society based on their forms of entertainment and how depraved society is.

Nope, that's wrong. The primary reason the roman empire fell is because they used lead pipes for their drinking water. The lead slowly started poisoning the minds of everyone, including leadership, and that caused them to start making a bunch of dumb ass decisions which had profound repercussions. In the end, the roman empire fell because they were too widespread, they had deep fiscal problems, they were spread too thin and couldn't repel invaders and raids on their borders, they had huge communication problems because of the time delay between sending messages around the empire (it all had to be hand carried via roads and horseback). The romans eventually decided to partition their empire into the east and west, so when the empire finally collapsed due to fiscal problems, the eastern portion of the empire just became the byzantine empire and the western portion kind of just imploded and created a power vacuum which ushered in the dark ages, lasting several centuries...
the depravity of the society has very little to do with it's downfall.
There are countries that have had legal rights to fornicate with animals, and where prostitution is not only legal, but there are shacks designed to hold people in place for fornication like a stockade, where the public just comes in and uses it like a latrine.
Yet those societies have been running strong for a fairly long time.
There is far more going on that causes the fall of a society, than whether or not it is depraved.
However, people like to look at failed or failing societies, which have numerous issues all adding up to its failure, and then cherry pick the ones they personally dislike to say "this is the reason, this here! nothing else, just this!"
When in reality, the single issue they picked, is often a minor issue at best and there are many societies with that same issue which are running just fine in comparison.
That third video of the girl trying to tell everyone what men are thinking about is from a feminist being angry that men are smart.
Men do think about the Roman empire frequently. Not because of movies, but because of legacies. Men are very logical processors that focus on legacy. A man's primary goal in life is the legacy he leaves behind, and the Roman empire is a legacy, relatable. Men think about the technological gains from the Roman's. Women aren't thinking "Gee, why is the middle of the road slightly higher than the sides of the road." No. Men are. Because men know it's to make water wash away from the center of the road to the sides. A technique the Roman empire greatly greatly greatly utilized. Women aren't thinking, "Gee, if we didn't have Romans making carriages, swords, etc. back in the day, imagine what today's technology would be vastly lacking in." They're not. Men are though.
Most of what men think about the Roman empire is related to STEM which is what men are primarily gravitated towards in society. Science. Roman Empire. Technology. Roman Empire. Engineering. Roman Empire. Mathematics. Roman Empire.
Women fight the government over humanitarian issues. Men fight the government over structure, legacy, and stability.
That's why more men complain more about gas prices, Amendment laws, military strategies, etc. while women complain more about things relating to personalities and feelings (transgenderism being the prime current example). Men have a "Let's make sure this machine is well oiled and running but the cosmetic condition doesn't really matter" mindset while women have a "Let's make sure this machine isn't black/white or greasy, it should be shiny and pretty but doesn't care if it's running right" mindset.
Look at car buying. Women tend to look at how cosmetically a car is. Men tend to look at how mechanical a car is. Just straight up facts. And none of this would exist... you guessed it... without the Roman Empire.

The forever-single chick who was putting down boyfriends for not knowing specific dates is a great example of the modern problem. Someone's boyfriend will speak up and she CLEARLY does not listen to what he is actually saying, then she reinterprets why he said anything so it fits her narrative, then she dismisses the boyfriend altogether as a fool to be mocked. Hey bro, you are spot on! Gibbons suggested in Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire that a very good "barometer" for the health and stability of a polity is to guage their morals. He said that normalization of homosexuality and other similar perversions is a solid indicator that a society is in decline.
Homosexuality was more usual in Greek and Roman society than it is now,
mainly due to the increased status of women in our western societies.
@@smkh2890 reminds me of what to me is one of the odder expressions of homosexuality in a culture... In ancient Japan there was a book called something to the effect of the Book of the Virtue of Man Love. It was written by a samurai warrior and explained homosexuality as the true expression of masculinity. It argued that only sissys had sex with women and a manly man loved other men. It talked about the comradery of a group of soldiers. About the deepest bonds are formed by men at war. I don't think that the idea of homosexuality being the truest expression of masculinity has ever been written down by any other culture and it's almost a mirror view of the western interpretation of homosexuality. It was like the first student exchange program. I thought that they were always strictly anti gay. It's why I snigger when I see a rainbow free Palestine flag. Palestine has laws against homosexuality and is punished by a 10 year prison sentence. (Plus you get your teeth kicked out of your mouth on the way to jail, so you feel properly welcomed.) There’s also a story of he had a servant whose only job was to whisper into his ear “You are just a man” to remind him to not let power get to his head. If we ever needed a Marcus Aurelius it is now.
I think that "you are only a man" story was about Julius Caesar. at least the version i heard: while on his triumphs with his crown and pageantry around him one of his slaves reminded him "you are still only a mortal"
The father of stoicism and a philosopher king. Truly a great man.

"There is nothing new under the sun." I think people tend to act the same when given the same circumstances. Of course there are outliers, but as a whole we are all much more similar than we are different. We can learn a lot from The Roman Empire, and save ourselves from being doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
I went to Rome last year, been to the Vatican and the Coliseum. Also been to the Berlin Wall and Normandy. The reality of being in those countries that have fallen and where thousands of military men fought and died, it was heartbreaking because we are currently repeating what happened in history which should have taught what not to do.
I agree. History should teach us, but so few learn. Here’s a recent example for me…. I took a class on The American War of Independence and I find myself proud of the efforts of American rebels to fight for our Constitutional Republic. Without them we wouldn’t have all the luxury we do today. The one thing I don’t understand is this: While the government, the Constitution and its ideals, set up the new nation for the eventual abolition of slavery… why, being educated on the events of the ancient world, didn’t they see the honor and righteousness and justness of the efforts of Spartacus and his captains that fought so hard and well AGAINST their enslavement? Why didn’t they learn from that? Why weren’t they more inspired by that?
The only time I think about the Roman Empire is when I look around and see our wonderful country coming to the same end.

As someone who thinks Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe are overrated, when I think of Rome, the movie Gladiator, is literally the furthest thing from my mind.
Also, that woman’s projecting. She’s telling us what she thinks of when she thinks of Rome and putting it on men.
She's a gaslighter
She enjoys the benefits of mens extreme hard work, to be so comfortable to spew such hateful ignorance without true repercussions.
It’s such a great movie.
Nah. I don't think she's projecting. I think when you see a shit load of trending videos a pattern emerges and that's what she's speaking on. I find Tiktoc trends annoyingly impersonal and disconnected. A bunch of beefcake boys talking about needing to be ready for war at all times, but what do they do during their day to actually shift the paradigm in reality. Probably still act like the first guy's interpretation, keeping their heads up their asses with their bread and circus.
Eh, I think it's a mixed bag. The movie Gladiator is what the average normie probably think about when they think about the Roman Empire. But there are a lot of men who are very interested in history as well who probably genuinely are thinking about the Roman Empire frequently, so I think there's truth to both sides. Making blanket statements either way is the ridiculous part in my opinion.
I live in a town in Greece right next to the ruins of ancient Nicopolis, the city that Octavian Augustus built to commemorate his victory at the naval battle of Actium against Mark Antony and Cleopatra! So yeah I think of the Roman Empire fairly often...
I wish more people thought about the Roman empire more. Not just Rome though, history in general. If people were more aware of human history, I truly believe that we would be less doomed to repeat it.

When I think about the Roman empire I go back a lot. A king had a dream; a statue with a head of gold, chest and arms of silver, hip area of brass, legs of iron and feet a mixture of clay and iron. I know what the future holds.
That king was Nebuchadnezzar II, the Babylonian emporer.

As a man who thinks about the Roman empire several times a week, I also did not realize that other guys that about it that often. And FYI, "gladiatorial battles" are something I rarely think about. I actually read books and stuff and can answer all of those womans questions. She is projecting her thoughts about "muscular sweaty men" (all she knows about Rome is the movie Gladiator) onto everyone else.
true - if she had known any hard facts about the Roman Empire, she would have specifically mentioned them - as in -
"ask them about the Roman Road system in relation to todays roads"
"ask them how the Fall of the Roman Empire mirrors today's societies..."
but you are correct - instead - all she thinks she knows about the Roman Empire - is Russel Crowe in the Gladiator movie...
I think a lot of men and women don't spend much time in each other's company anymore, so if our egos are left unchecked, we quickly start to believe that we are the most interesting and intelligent person in the room (while always being alone in the room, haha). The Roman tactic of blood and bread is something I have preached to people for years now. I remember when I was younger hearing about it in a documentary only to realize, like this gentleman, that that is what is going on now. Add in all the controversy that the government perpetuates, the big ones being race, guns, sexuality, and religion. It’s all meant to keep people divided. If you study the New Testament in the Bible, you think about them a lot. They are a very important part in it and the early church. When Christ lived till the church took over the empire.
Truth

Beast #2 Apostate Protestantism of America

Meanwhile the leaders are all corrupt and they're no longer able to hold on to their authorty and the Empire is no longer able to project its power. All its distant territories have turned into fiefdoms of their regional military leaders and ready to secede from the Empire.
Look at America today. Its traditional allies have weakened. Its trade partners are no longer faithful to just the US and are openly doing business with, and investing in, China and Russia. Much of the world is gradually pivoting away from the petrodollar. The saner countries of the world are mocking and ridiculing America's woke culture and the presence of mentally-ill gender-confused people in the military leadership. Look at the streets of San Francisco and many parts of Baltimore, Chicago, and many other cities. They're rife with homeless tents, zombified druggies, trash, filth... you don't even see that in places like Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok and Hanoi.
America truly is heading down the same way as Rome. All signs point towards its collapse and the end of its global dominance.
One other thing that lead to the fall was indoor plumbing among the wealthy. They used lead pipes, and mostly only the wealthy could get indoor plumbing. So you had a ruling class essentially succumbing to lead poisoning. The young were becoming insane and debauchery was an offshoot of that.
There may still be a parallel, as there is evidence of hormones, other drugs and microplastics in our water, in addition to less than healthy diets, thay surely have impacted people's minds and reasoning.
I am a woman who loved studying Roman civilization and so do also think about it fairly frequently. It's frightening to me the way people feel modern western civilization is so stable and permanent when it is a mere infant compared to many powerful civilizations of the past. Thinking about Rome, it's contributions to modern society, and it's eventual fall should be a warning to us all, but we just continue to take our way of life for granted.
It's inevitable. The intelligent thing is figuring out how we can escape this fate for ourselves and our families.
Homeless camps a couple streets away from the White House
Yea two dudes kissing is gunna be the end of America, you can take your tin foil hat off now lmaooooo
@@Leangreen69 Typical homosexual response. People like you are totally ignorant of large-scale cascade effects of sociological changes, and clearly you're ignorant of history as well. To you it's just "two dudes kissing ain't nobody's business" because people like you are like typical self-centered millennials who can't see beyond your own immediate circle. History has repeatedly shown otherwise. Facts vs feelings, I choose facts anytime,
“How often do you think about…” is a lot different than “are you a scholar of….” Some people live their life only feeling relevant if they are pushing those around them down.
I studied Latin in high school. That was over a half century ago, and yes I do remember it and my teacher (RIP Miss Morgan). I find myself thinking about "panem et circenses" (bread and circuses) and from there what happened next. Fun fact, in The Hunger Games the capital city was called Panem. That's where it comes from.
I'm a woman, and I think about the Roman empire often. Entertain the masses as the people slowly starve.
Every woman in the comment section that feels the need to declare, “I’m a woman and I think about the Roman Empire” is literally part of the collapse of the current empire. Just stfu and stop trying to make stuff about you. Women today literally take any topic and try to make it personally about themselves. FFS…literally on a video about empire collapse while actively participating in the type of behavior that leads to empire collapse. That is how retarded our society has become.
Bread and circuses, I remember hearing.
As the saying goes, "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it".
Or those who change historical facts, or those who topple statues without even knowing anything about the heroes behind statues will repeat it.
Those who learn from history are doomed to watch those who don't repeat it, & occasionally get told to learn from history by a woman who hasn't.
She just strikes me as someone who is insufferable to deal with on a daily basis. The kind of person that works in a marketing department or some made up middle management that has no idea what is going on and call meetings to 'correct' people and 'put them on the right track for the project', when in fact all they are doing is derailing and second guessing the experienced people on hand.
This pretty much describes the dysfunctional bureaucracy of healthcare (or pretty much anything else) at this point
They do this to teachers too.
Honestly i dont think too much about the empire, its the repbulic that is interesting, the history of the empire gets pretty repetetive but can still be good.
This topic leaves me with really just one quote, “The only thing we learn from history is that we don’t learn from history “ this scenario has repeated itself throughout human existence, not only the Roman Empire. It is happening not only in the USA but throughout almost all countries
Sadly true. History warns us, but few pay attention to history.
History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme a lot.
I'm glad we're finally addressing this pressing issue..... The memes are coming true 😂

My first visit to Rome, our landlord took us on a tour of the neighborhood. I stepped on a manhole cover looked down and cast into the cover SPQR. I was stunned. I said "Georgio, SPQR? Senatus Populusque Romanus?" I've studied Rome my whole life and here I am looking at it. I looked up. A gas cover on the side of a building... SPQR. A city truck drove by SPQR. "Georgio. 2000 years, the legions. the... you still use SPQR?" He looked through me. "This is Rome." PAX ROMANUS
Rome continued through their religion.
Pax Romana*
Other Italians say it stands for , “Sono porci, questi Romani.”😂😂😂
Or... Romani ite domum 100 times@@WinstonSmithGPT
I would love to visit Rome again, such a great place.
Insane they built colliseum for.. was it 8 years it took? That is fast! Even if they built it upon Neros Palace and had some access to alot of materials.
I'm a woman who thinks about the Roman Empire every day. Marcus Aurelius is my dude, after him it went to crap. Bread and circuses afterwards, just like now. This fella is SO right. History repeats itself because homo sapiens sapiens refuses to learn from its mistakes. War and evil still rules in the hearts of most people, not the love and unity that should be in there.
I've always been a history enthusiast. It didn't lead me to be popular growing up, but it was something that I enjoyed. I'm glad that more people are educating themselves on this!
Roman Empire never fell. The last Roman Emperors were the first Catholic Priests. Rome couldn't stop the Christianity movement so they repositioned their empire to control it.
Love listening to you ABL. Absolutely correct on an extension of bread and circuses. Keep up the great videos.
Every time I send or read an email. My email includes the name of my business which was partly modelled after those heroic Gauls, Asterix and Obelix, who in the year 50 BC helped hold off the Roman Empire from their small village on the Brittany coast. You can learn more about them in the series of historical documents called Asterix books. May the sky never fall on your head!
Your comment makes me so happy, by Toutatis!
Yeah, "These Romans are crazy"
My Dad told me we were an extension of Rome when I was 15,after living here I would say we will fall the same way.
What did the Romans ever do for us!?
If you know, you know

Water transportation pioneers in Europe, sewage systems and spas experts. Incredible builders and scholars...
Pretty much gave us everything. People who know, know. Also a lot of people don’t realize that our government (USA) is based on the old Roman Republic. The idea of representational government and a three tiered system of checks and balances is nothing new.
Romans are the present-day Italians.
They set the blueprint for modern society.

Excellent! Spot on!
Nobody ever thinks about how large medieval Poland was. It was huge. But everyone knows Rome. It’s safe to say they achieved their goal towards Rome’s greatness.
