This was great! Was nervous to go through a carwash especially owning a new electric car. Thanks!

Mine was tricky for the model 3. You have to put it in neutral, when you're on the belt then car wash mode. When you get off the belt, you have to press the brakes the put it in drive so hopefully no one is close behind me

    I don't even own a Tesla but I'm watching.

The hardest part is finding Neutral.

Oh yeah when I first got the model Y I couldn’t figure it out either. I was used to Jeeps..

I've had both a Model 3 and now a Model Y and they both seem the same in car wash mode. The thing I have found tricky, (although its never failed) is to get into 'Free Roll' mode. You have to drive up to the track that pulls the car along, but to actually enter 'Free Roll' you have to put your foot on the brake, press the on-screen button, then release the brake.

@@quamrana exactly right! It’s tricky, but I find that once I put it in N once I’m on the belt, it engages the free roll.

I don’t use carwash, just with buckets and pressure washer

Oh I don’t disagree. That’s the best method. For those that may not have that as an option and car is it, at least they know how to seal 🦭 it up for those internal components. Thanks for watching, really appreciate it.

i think it wil help a lot of people but i have to admit that i cringed at all the paintwork damage caused by the brushes. If at all possible you should be hand washing your car

Oh totally agree. I typically detail it my hand, clay bar and some wax or paint protector… BUT there are days I just don’t have time and need a quick wash and use the car wash.

I was thinking the exact same thing! I understand that clay bars will also do some damage, and need to be followed by mechanical buffing, which will remove a minuscule layer of clear coat. I have been using Clay Towels (Decontaminating Towels) once or twice a year after a thorough wash. These supposedly won’t marre or remove the paint and leave the car looking great! I have also applied ceramic coating which makes my car super easy to clean! It also protects the black trim (around the Model 3 & Y windows) that become oxidized after going through car washes. Hope this helps!

Indeed. Claybar if not folded in after removing dirt, will definitely mess up you paint too. I try to fold it as many times as I can… but throw it in the trash after one or two uses. You bring up a good point about the clay towel… I haven’t tried those.
