As a huge fan of supercars sadly this category has lost a lot of its interest due to limited 2 make field, loss of the current Chev next year. Nothing is aussie anymore and the fighting and bickering over parity , repair costs etc is taking away the edge this category once had. We need to sit down and reinvent this category and go back to grass roots racing like TCR. Just my opinion.
Yep, the moment an independent team couldn’t buy a falcon or commodore and modify it in to a race car and instead have to beg the category for racing entitlements and purchase bespoke tube frame chassis was the beginning of the end.
@@NascupI said beginning of the end, it’s been a long decline and Supercars is in a precarious position now with irrelevant manufacturers. Just pointing that out I don’t need to move on from anything.
I want to see some different cars battling it out not the same car different engine different plastic body whinning about parity. Surely the can come up with some rules to make a better series with more variety of cars
This series in 2024 & moving forwards is ultimately a dead man walking, only nobody seems to realise it yet. Time to change to TCR or GT3, & gain some semblance of relevance looking into the future.
@@vern7424 It’s definitely unique. Probably no other tintop racing series in the world that uses cars that are based on models that aren’t marketed or sold in that country. Might as well make a series for grey imports it would be just as relevant.
The Camaro still looks better coming out of corners at speed. Mind you that could just be because the Shell cars are so crap these days. Mid field again or worse this year I'm thinking.
I'm pretty sure that should the Mustangs - of any team - show any sort of on track, title winning form, V-8 supercars will, no doubt, find a way of hobbling them. Just as they've always done.
Too bad I don't get to watch them race. I love watching that sexy black Camaro , way more oem looking than Nascar (cup or xfinity) or any class nhra camaro even a pro stock. I never see too many camaros representing. I miss the old Trans AM camaro VS stang so I love seeing it in this series and wish I could watch every race
We are meant to be able to buy these cars that we race. I know you can buy a Mustang, but you can't buy a Camaro. Can special order it? And Look like American Nascar and we don't want that in australia
Can't speak for Mustang but according to Chev Australia boss the Camaro is 98% identical shape to road cars, including opening doors and headlights etc. which is nothing like Nascar. The concept of being able to buy the road going version of the cars that race in Supercars has gone by the wayside years ago.
Even if you could buy a Camaro here in Australia - have you seen the absolutely obscene prices being asked? That's why there are more Mustangs on the road.
so will V8 supercars be Mustang racing Mustang, Since GM have ceased production on Camaro's. all is it going to be another GMH saga where they could keep racing Commodores long after production ceased. Where as Ford never could

Music to me ears! 😁

Tcr is absolute dog shit
Simply well said!
Production car racing exists - Supercars hasn't been that category for 30 years though so maybe its time you moved on...

No Phillip island on the calendar is crazy. One of the best tracks in the entire world. Pay up Supercars and get it done
It’s a good bike track, not so much for tin tops
Were the two cars in 2024 aero spec? Or still in Adelaide 500 spec?
Mustang looked 2024 spec. Front bumper looked like new spec.
So did all that shipping and expenses achieve parity, or are we going to hear about it all season again?
Must be a Whiney Chev, no obsolete Holden fan…..
@@charlesgustavino7085 Try a Mercedes /AMG fan. What a strange comment.
How do you know when they are going to test at queensland raceway
Speedcafe or teams will sometimes announce it, but I think Qld raceway will specify on their monthly calendars what is open to the public or not.
Are they just doing laps and comparing the torque sensor readings.
Will hopefully have closer racing this year. 🤞🤞🤞.
Don't hold your breath , it'll no doubt be as boring as the last few years
Great stuff

I'll still follow no matter the issues.
Am I dreaming or does that Camaro sound throutier than last season?
Your dreaming…ford sounds better😂
@@charlesgustavino7085 Where did I compare the Ford to the Chev?

Why? There are already a million series that use TCR and GT3 cars. Would lose the uniqueness.

Cars aren't Loud enough 😔
Brodie will cream this season, he is way too good for this lot..
I'm inclined to agree with you.
Brodie just left Erebus 💀
Without SVG, Phillip island and only racing 12 weeks a year. Sorry but won’t be watching Supercars for the foreseeable future

Not v8 supercars. No commodore. No falcon
Just seppo crap .
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Take me back to 60,s and 70,s much better racing Beechey Moffart Jane not this crap we have today
You'll never be pleased

Doesnt qld race track look heaps better since tony quinn took it over
Yeah Jimmy Golding stick it right up em👍🏾
What will they do to the Camaro this year to make the Shitstang competitive?
