In this video, we go in depth how to make 2D, 2.5D and 3D mapping.
This is exclusively with Dronelink (although the principle is applicable for other flight apps too)
The first mission is with the DJI Mavic Pro and the 2nd and 3rd mission are with the DJI Inspire 2 with X5S gimbal.
The image format remains 16/9 and not 4/3 like for equirectangular images.
For stitching of the 2D and 2.5D image, I have used the Kolor Autopano Giga 4.4.2 (although this is discontinued) you can use the KRPano tools;

For rendering of the 3D model, I use the software from WebODM;

Thank you - I did (nearly) all of this a couple of days ago, but my houses and trees had no "sides" (because I used -90 or -85 only. The -75 and the orbit I will try tomorrow! Thank you - so cool!!!!

The basic Mapper plan should be sufficient
Very good video, I have a question: for the 3d mapping what kind of license I need in Dronelink? I was about to acquire the elite hobby license (99$) but, before I buy it, I would like to know first if the 3d mapping is included in it.
As I have a full license, I don't know the limitations of your plan. However, 3D mapping is a grid mapping but with you camera tilted in e.g. -70deg angle. That gives you better 3D effect. But you can make the mapping yourself. Not too hard.

If you are planning on mapping areas with signifcant elevation differentials then i would suggest one of the Business plans. I also bought the Elite plan initially but then realised that you cannot automatically follow the terrain which is imperative if you want imagery with a consistent GSD.
Oyibo, how come in your mapping I see beizer turns than straight corners? Is this the old version of the hub?
Do you have this video without background music / sound? I'm having difficulty hearing your voice and I really regret it because this video seems to be very very useful

What do you use these maps for? Can they be measured with accuracy?
I use them as high dev images and overlays in Google Earth for my work

Like what? Premium give you most of them. Mainly the functions you basically need

I have the enthusiast plan. Is there any way to change flight livel during a mapping mission? I want to change the flight level when the drone reaches a certain boundary point of the map, but I can't find any way to do so without upgrading my plan to enable "above ground level" (AGL) altitude.

Thanks for much for your great tutorials. Since Autopano is now gone (😞) I wonder what you might be using for stitching these days. I've been looking into OpenDroneMap (and WebODM) and it seems very capable.
I see you're using OpenDroneMap (and WebODM) for the 3D project ... just wondering why not for the 2D and 2-1/2D orthomosaics. Thanks
What package that's enough for mapping 2D on Mavic Air 2 with 48MP?
If you're handy, you can make your own mapping plan. I always do that
My drone just takes random photos during the flying. Sometimes 5 in a row, then 3 minutes later one photo. Do you know what could be wrong?
Then I need the flightplan. Can you send to me?

at 19:10 you say you have to first download "docker" ???
Docker is required when using WebODM. But it's free

You say that you never fly in a "straight" line and that you angle them for a better photo, do you know why it is that a "perpendicular" pattern results in a worse result in processing?

I just finished my first test map, but now I'm stuck, where are the pictures? how do I download them to my PC? how do I share them with my customer? why doesn't Dronelink give any info
The images are on the drone's SD card. Copy them to the pc as normal. Proces as normal
Just to let you know .. I live near this location and I was stopped from flying my mavic mini ( safety altitude of max 30:meters at the time ) at this location by the police in the spring of this year as you are very close to the aircraft flight path to Brussels airport .. for sure if they did do a control of your RUclips channel you may have a problem too ... However thanks for the tutorial ...
Depends which location you mean. Without a license, it's "only" 10m altitude in Belgium. This is all outside the Brussels Airport NFZ.
Excellent video - the music put me to sleep half way through. How about a version without the music?
It’s about the content. Music is not important
at 11:03 when flying over the edges - you can't see the building. this is important. Can you explain this? So if I do a 3d image, should I have more perimeter or less?
I would go for more. But your image is getting larger. But that you can cut off later in post
