Seems like AMS2 is really focusing on the single player aspect of sim racing. It’s nice to be able to race without fear of ruining someone else’s race every now and then.
I'm curious what are they planning for the career because they teased us to be excited for it...
1 update to MP will fix it for a lot of people. For the love of GOD... please let me save my MP lobby settings!!!!?????
If only MP was more of a thing., For now it's ACC. I don't really have the time for IRacing plus the candy in VR in ACC...uff
This is the best all round sim for single player racing; from the huge variety of content, the time of day & weather systems and the ever improving ai. It has come on leaps and bounds since early access.

It would be cool if you could set a “range” in which the yellow would happen at any time between say 25-50% or 50-75%
I think being able to work out when a yellow is coming 20 minutes before sort of makes it easy to prepare for and make decisions around, whereas if it’s within a 25% race range and you’re not quite sure, you’re then gambling strategy which imo is more fun.
I am so glad I had faith in this sim. Bought it day 1 of release and have so much fun. This latest update is amazing.

Hey Rob! Thanks for checking out the video, man. Yeah, AMS2 seems to have hit its stride. ACC is still amazing, but I’m loving the variety on offer from Reiza here.
Getting AMS2 in July with the Humble Bundle, then falling in love with it, impatiently waiting for the Autumn Sale to buy the season pass, now a new update all just ahead of a week off of work... big happiness. This race looked good. Here's hopin' the wrist and shoulder don't give out too early in the week.

the formula hi-tech and historic track pack pt 2 are free rn until monday, spent the day yesterday checking it out, set a WR at Bathurst and was convinced it was worth buying.
apparently there is also a further refinement to tyre physics to come on monday as well, quite an interesting and exciting time for AMS2!

Many people does that, even long endurance races. I am doing a 70s F1 season now with 100% race distance.
@@jota.191 it's really awesome to meet people who enjoy racing with AI and take it seriously nowadays, because it almost seems that you have to be playing competitively vs human to be called "Sim racer" or some will say "what's the point to race with AI?"
To me, racing with AI is a very important element
Been playing mostly IRacing the past 6 months. I can honestly say I’m excited for AMS2. The latest update is a game changer for me. The physics and force feedback are greatly improved.

It's been awhile since I sat down with AMS2 but I played yesterday for 5 hours straight, a bunch of the cars feel amazing now! Particularly loving the Porsche 911 GT3 + GTE as well as the GT1 cars.

That’s actually a really cool feature I didn’t know was added. Reiza have been working their tails off and it seems like it’s paying off. AMS2 set their all time record for concurrent users yesterday so things are trending well for this game
Oh, really? I didn’t know that. Good for them. As you say, Reiza’s hard work is paying off. I’ll be curious to see what they can do with Le Mans next year too.
Now we need UDP for CC and Yellow flags for accident heads ups. Thx for post. At 25:00 Maybe they will get the pit stop frame jitters fixed as well?

And here I was wondering why I'd trigger a full course yellow willingly and dismissing the feature (for now). Well... I might have a use for it soon. Haven't done hour long races in AMS 2 in a while. I can see the vision now!

I do like these multi class races, but we need an option to choose the cars of each class, or the number of cars of each class.
Great video!!! Have you ever considered head tracking? I love using it in these sims.
I’ve tried it. It’s pretty cool, but I do find that it’s a bit jerky for use in my videos, so it’s hard for me to commit to it long term.
Sad to see they haven’t increase the headlight range, it’s not as bad in your video since Monza has track lights in some sectors as well as the fact that you were mostly in a pack for the race. With people in front / behind you, you get a lot more light. The worse case scenario is when you’re driving on your own and the track has no lights, you cannot see 5m in front of you which just makes for a horrendous experience.
I’ve just ended up turning the exposure compensation pretty high which allows me to see a bit better at night but during the day time everything is absolutely blown out, I hope Reiza gives us high beams or something at least 😅
Yeah right, high beams so you can blind drivers in front lol!
@@RonniePeterson lol yeah on race cars maybe not, but for road cars I'd like that option. I guess another way to fix it is allow the environment to reflect more light rather than swallowing it like a black hole. But from discussions about the game being too dark in the past, it seems like there are shadow bugs or what no regarding the headlights from other cars behind that causes massive fps dips so I could only assume that is the reason why we don't have brighter headlights for now
This idiot has not bothered to check out how the AI settings even worked originally in AMS2 let alone after the latest update. Watch his video again. At one point he says he wants realistic AI but then has the AI aggressiveness set to max which overrides the realistic AI to max aggressiveness for all cars. He later complains about backmarkers not getting out of the way. Yeah when you set the wrong AI setting that is what you might expect to see quite apart from the fact that backmarkers back then were not quick to get out of the way at the best of times. Some might say the AI is behaving as expected! For me this is disingenuous comment on AMS2 at best and deliberate bad mouthing at worst.@@hMint

Love the update but i also thought the headlights were not on as they are not very bright at all. I had a job to see when i did a wet race at Spa at night once i had no cars to follow.

Your ascari and your parabolica could use some work 😂. If you're not on the curb at the exit of the parabolica because that's where the car pushed you under acceleration, you're off the pace on the straight, which explains why you couldn't make many overtakes into turn 1 even when you were faster over 1 lap than the others
That’s cool but I wish the regular yellow flags would work properly. I’ve seen proper accidents and pile ups blocking the road but no fcy…

That’s present here too. If there is a major crash it triggers a FCY.

I downloaded the demo but couldn't configure my SimuCUBE 1, Heusinkveld Ultimate pedals and Martin Ascher Button box, so gave up. They work fine in other racing sims.
I have all those you mention but i have the HE pro pedals. Never had any issues with configuring them in AMS 2, you must be doing something wrong. Give it another try, make sure you just have what's needed usb wise, it might be a conflict some ware.
The demo is an older version. Better to just buy the game and see if it works. If not, get a refund.

Ams2 needs to figure a way of amplifying MP. It's such a fun sim but the MP experience is way too hit and miss. I do get that with so many variables it's tough but hmmm. what to do/suggest to them?
I say 'hit and miss' just because of lack therof, that's all.

The concept of a scheduled full course yellow seems a bit alien to me. Can it not be random and triggered by incidents?
It can, but then it’s not random. So the game does allow for proper, event triggered FCY, but you can also schedule them when setting up the race if you want.
I wish they would add option to stop camera shaking. Looks and feels unreal / bad. Other than that, really enjoy AMS2 🙂

Not really. It’s on the development road map though. Hopefully coming in 2024. There is a fan-made career tracker on RaceDepartment if you want to start sooner.

Tried the new update but still have the same problem, too much grip, impossible to loose control of car
Running gt4 on interlagos they are much more loose than the iracing gt4s but they are mods brought over from project cars.
so it's a faux yellow? not based on a real ai crash? that's no fun
Scheduled yellow flags is the dumbest thing ever in racing. Totally defeats the purpose of racing. Good for advertisers though, ram some more nonsense down our throats. Sell more crap products. It only benefits the noobs, and discriminates good drivers. To easy for dumbasses to ram you in turn 1, in case they failed at the start, they get a second chance. Horrible.
