Hi Charles: The [C.fn-7 Auto AF point selection: Color Tracking] section of the camera manual (page 405, canon.us/77D_manual )provides details of how Color Tracking functions when set on or off. If you Disable Color Tracking the camera uses other AF information. When Color Tracking is enabled, if no skin tones can be detected, the nearest subject will be focused on. Once focus is achieved, AF points are automatically selected so the camera continues to focus on the color of the area it focused on first. For example, with Color Tracking enabled, if the camera focused on a red bird first, it would attempt to continue focusing on that red bird. If you have more questions, our camera agents are happy to explain this setting. Hello: In video mode and Live View mode, the camera uses the Dual Pixel CMOS AF method to focus instead of the 45-AF point system. Hi there! RAW is a format that isn't natively supported in many applications like JPEG is. Support has to be added to the software by the vendor. Adobe does support RAW files from many cameras in their software, but the availability of that support may depend on the version of their software you are using. We recommend reaching out to Adobe directly for more information. In the meantime, you can open and process those RAW files using Canon Digital Photo Professional, even convert them into another format that is supported by your editing software. We hope this helps!

can anyone help me make a desicion on buying the 77D or the Sony a6000. My main focus would be on landscapes and potraits. Size is not an issue w me. Please recommend any one of 'em
Im looking into selling my A6000 for either a 77d or T7i and the reason why is because of the cost of lenses for Sony. I do have a Canon lens to Sony adapter but I struggle with keeping the F- stop on. Also, continuous focus is long gone when using other lenses besides native lenses even with the might metabone. Hope this helps
I was also confused b/w Sony & Canon but the photos of Sony a6000 are not that much appealing also there was some heating problem in a6300 or a6500 for videos. (Yes for me a6000 was not even in question). Also the articulating screen & touch screen were plus point in 77D apart from Battery. So I had purchased EOS 77D.
That is a big problem. Apart from battery life, the camera body is quite small, the battery grip will make it much more ergonomic to hold. On top of that, if you buy an aftermarket battery grip (which is available), when you shoot vertical you will only be able to use the shutter button and nothing else.
I am using Canon 80D. I just mean to ask which would be more better ? Sometimes new cameras create confusion sort of with ample of features. 80D still work great for me!

which one is better sir
i should buy 70D or 77D plz reply
Hi Aurang! We think you'll find the EOS 77D the better choice between the two. Hope this helps!
CanonUSA Thank you sir ❤️❤️❤️
Which one should I chose 80d or 77d..? I make RUclips videos and i ll shoot 1 video per day or 1 video per 3 days..pls reply..:)
Hi there! While both are great choices for video, the EOS 77D is a bit newer and has a couple features that might give it a slight edge over the EOS 80D, such as Movie Electronic IS, the newer DIGIC 7 processor and higher ISO speed. We hope this helps!
Does 45 point works in Video?
Hello:
In video mode and Live View mode, the camera uses the Dual Pixel CMOS AF method to focus instead of the 45-AF point system. Dual Pixel AF uses readings off the image sensor to focus instead of using a separate focus sensor. This method is very fast and accurate.
We hope this information is useful.
i'm not able to open canon 77d files in photoshop as well as photo viewer (Windows) please help, the file format is CR2. the error show "it looks like we don't support this file format"
Hey there, please update your photoshop to the latest version or get a converter so that you can open raw files, your photoshops camera might be outdated and also make sure you shoot raw+jpeg it will create a raw file for your photoshop and jpeg for your windows image viewer. I hope this helps
Hi, please download Adobe DNG Converter hope it solved it😉
Clear AF!

Hi there! Between the two, the EOS 80D is the higher-end model, but we think both are great. Hope this helps!

Hi there! While both are great for photography, you'll find the EOS 77D to be the more advanced of the two. We hope this helps!

I’m confused to chose between SL2 and 77D.. Whether the extra money for 45 point AF is worth a Deal?
No answer ? This is a good question !
Of course to stills 9 points are enough... but for movie it worths
I tried both Cameras in store.. I ordered 77D.. I like the quick af in 77D.. I think it'll help, when I had to quickly take some moments once I take the camera out.. that's how I felt when I tried both Cameras...
I've ordered 77D too... it is a good camera...
45 AF points just like Eos 3
steve blow still its 36 more than my Canon 600D & 6 more than my Nikon D600. I'm rather liking the recent Canons 77D, 5D 4 .
can anyone help me make a desicion on buying the 77D or the Sony a6000.
Jay Director Thanks for the advice man! Appreciate it!
So I had purchased EOS 77D.
i agree, Photos are better on Canon vs Sony. My battery drains as well.
NO OFFICIAL BATTERY GRIP ---- for better vertical shooting, and to suffice short battery life!!!
That is a big problem. Apart from battery life, the camera body is quite small, the battery grip will make it much more ergonomic to hold. On top of that, if you buy an aftermarket battery grip (which is available), when you shoot vertical you will only be able to use the shutter button and nothing else.
large AF ! :)))
I had 1 canon 77d camera
But somebody is saying that its a failure 1, is it real
What about Canon 80D then ?
Hi Kashif! The EOS 80D also has a 45-point AF system with the same options. We hope this helps!
I am using Canon 80D. I just mean to ask which would be more better ? Sometimes new cameras create confusion sort of with ample of features. 80D still work great for me!
Hello again! While the EOS 80D is the higher-end model, you probably won't find one is much better than the other when it comes to the AF system.
CanonUSA Thank you very Much ❤
Which one should I chose 80d or 77d..? I make RUclips videos and i ll shoot 1 video per day or 1 video per 3 days..pls reply..:)
