Handbrake Adjustment - Nissan Micra K12

- How to adjust the handbrake (parking brake) on a 2003 to 2010 Nissan Micra k12. This adjustment is just for the handbrake lever as the cables can stretch over time. However, if your handbrake rises too high, don’t assume that the issue is caused by the cables stretching. There could be other issues causing the excessive lever travel, such as a broken anchor point or, more likely, a problem with the brake shoe self-adjusting mechanism. Always check the rear brakes first before adjusting the handbrake cable. If you’re in any doubt, take the car to to a qualified mechanic or Nissan specialist. Thanks for watching. You're welcome! :)
Thanks for the guide and great work with the camera angle! Question, Is the motor running?
You're welcome. The engine was running in the footage where I was pressing the brake pedal but it doesn't need to be
Very interesting, thank you!
You're welcome, thanks for watching
Great video!
I have a Micra K12 with rear drum brakes. The handbrake works on the driver side (left) but not on the passenger side (right). The wheel just spins quite easily, not as easy as with no handbrake though. What could be the problem and how to adjust it? Thank you! :)
Great job bruh!
Thank you !
Thanks for the video. My 2015 nissan micra handbrake has very little resistance when I pull it up and it doesn't engage the brakes to stop the car from moving
Brake cables are in good condation. Can I try your method without jacking up the rear wheels? What you think can be the issue in my case? Thank you
Does it have drum or disk rear brakes ?
@@screwsnutsandbolts drum
It could be a few different issues. You'll probably need to take the drums off and see what's happening in there when you pull the handbrake.
@@screwsnutsandbolts thank you very much. I attempted to take the drum out but it refuses to come out, rusted. Dont know how to take if off. Hammered it a few times to no avail.
@@saboorsaboor704 You have to remove the dust cover and 30mm bolt
you are amazing!!! can you please make a video for the removal and install new tail door lock? Mine is not working well and produce noise in the cabin
Thank you, I'll be doing that soon
thank you
You're welcome
it's enough to just reduce a bit the excursion of lever . no need to check wheels if the brakes are not new
Is this suit for every car handbrake adjust?
No a lot of cars have a different method to this
that hand brakes is too high
This car requires dry cleaning😏
Thanks !
