Loved this vlog! Visisted Budapest a few years ago and it was nice to "revisit" it through the video. It really is a gem of a city with utterly fantastic food and yes, architecture.
***** It is amazing. Been there for a total of 1,5 weeks. Lovely people and beautifull castles, parks, coffeebars, and go on.... And then think how cheap it is! Meals for 7 Euros... Hostels for 12 euros a night.... Underrated city, it truly is!!
As a hungarian, it made me smile a lot. :) It's always nice to see your country from someone else's point of view, it was truly heartwarming. I also have to highlight the way you say the hungarian names and words, lovely! haha I hope you will come back someday to grab some more lángos and pálinka!
haha I love how Donal randomly just screams "Helloo!!" to a bunch of strangers! If i was one of those strangers i'd wave frantically and be like "Hiiii!!!!! ^_^"
This was an amazing video of Budapest. I live here but still, it was nice to watch and it's great that more and more people see it as one of the main cities to visit in Europe.
Oh this video makes me feel homesick, I am missing the spirit Hungarian people have, I am living in London now which is awesome but still different :) I will definitely show this video to my friends here when they ask about Hungary. Thank you Donal, I love you!! :)
it's always so interesting to see the city - where I spent my whole life and childhood and my every-days - with a foreigner's eye. Sometimes we, Hungarians and especially Budapest-ians, forget what a beautiful city it is we live in and just rush by the monuments and old buildings, worrying about everything but missing out on what the city has to offer. Definitely have to spend at least one day a month when you walk around in your city as a tourist. I really enjoyed the video, loved your enthusiasm and excitement, and just simply really enjoy your personality (not just here but in your cooking vids as well).
I have friends here in the US who are from Budapest and I've never thought to look at a video before, so thank you for sharing with me! Now I want to go! :D
Budapest is such a lovely city, I got the chance to go there a few years ago and it was so nice! I only visited for a few days, so I'd like to go back there some day and stay for a bit longer. That bathplace seems like something nice to try out :)
Gee, I can't believe you were here! It would have been nice to have a meet up :D I'm glad you enjoyed our beautiful city, and I hope the pálinka wasn't too much ;)
Good to see you enjoyed the stay here and liked our foods. Hope you learned some recipes and you can cook at your homeland too. Spread our culture dude! :)
Thank you so much, Donal, for taking us along and sharing your adventures! Your tour guides were delightful, that "bath" was beautiful, and most of the foods looked good (I'll have to take a pass on the rooster bits....LOL!) Looking forward to Amsterdam! ;-)
Not gonna lie, I clicked for the thumbnail :) And stayed for an awesome video. I love Budapest!! I hope you come to Brussels! We have some pretty scrumptious food :D
Donal thank you very much for coming to Budapest I am a little sad to not see you live but I hope you come back to us and also to Budapest we will send you lots of kisses from Hungary and I wish you all the best Please write back to me so I know you have seen the message
OMG, i can't belive you were here and I didn't know about that! :( i was even at the gourmet festival, but anyway i'm glad you enjoyed our little country!
Love love your travel video! You're enthusasiam is awesome. Especially that part when you were saying hello to tje tourists lol. I'm heading to Europe in August and I think you have just convinced me to go to Budapest!! What other food did you get to try at the festival?
Oh, my! 12 minutes later: well, that was a lovely video, I'm excited to watch the whole series. Looks like you had a lot of good food, I personally love rooster testicles, although I've never had them like that, I've tried different other recipes. Also, palinca is deadly, never one shot it if you're not used to it, I had some very old, VERY strong palinca once and my throat went numb for a good 5 minutes, coupled with tears haha. Have an awesome trip, Donal, looking forward!
Your travelling vlogs are always fun and interesting Donal! I hope you have had a lot of fun in Europe. And it seems that taking a traditional bath has become an essential part of #DonalsAdventures haha :D
This looks like it's going to be an amazing series! Plus: Max is awesome! I thought maybe he was an Australian Shepherd, but seeing him up close, he looks more Border Collie. He looks a lot like my own puppy.
Ohhh!! You visited my country!! I hope you actually liked it here :) I wanted to go to the gourmet festival, too bad I didn't... :( I could have run into you!
This explaines what you were doing in Amsterdam on Monday :) I was on a city trip there and saw you but I was too shy to talk to you :s hope you have a lot of fun in Europe
If you get a chance whilst you're there in Budapest (if you haven't left already!), I would suggest a visit to Gerbeaud in Váci utca - they do excellent food. And I definitely suggest going to the Gundel Patisserie :) or the Gundel restaurant itself - plus its near the zoo, and who doesn't love a walk around a zoo.
Aw the memories, I got to visit Budapest a couple of years ago and we visited most of the same tourists spots as you. Unfortunately we missed out on a lot of the shops because we were only there one day and it was a Saturday when most of the shops close super early so we went to the same bath as you instead, it was AMAZING! I'm curious to know if you tried any cold fruit soups, I had the cherry one and it was delicious :)
The video was nice, however your first meal was rather called stew than gulas. Gulyás is a very-very rich soup made of beef with a LOT of vegetables and some dumplings.
When I was in grade 10, we had to learn every country and it's capital so now whenever I see a country or a capital (especially Europe) I have to say its counterpart
Very cool! I was surprised that you camera crew was comprised mostly of older people. But they seem really sweet and Anders seems like a fun character and I'm excited to see the final production. It's sometimes a bit distracting when your vlog camera is focused on the things behind you. It seems like an auto-focus, though. Bringing your hand really close to the lens and slowly drawing it away should put you in focus, I think.
Donal! You're off to an excellent beginning. ADVICE. When doing travel or restaurant tours with people who ARE NOT adventurous eaters do yourself a favor. LEAVE THEM AT HOME. LOL why no shot of you eating the rooster testecals? Please keep sharing these talented video's. Blessings ChefMike
Loved this vlog! Visisted Budapest a few years ago and it was nice to "revisit" it through the video. It really is a gem of a city with utterly fantastic food and yes, architecture.
LoveBud1765 Such a great place!
I'm glad you loved our little city and the food
Budapest looks like an amazing city! Love the architecture in that festival food looks LEGIT. Looking forward to more!
***** It is amazing. Been there for a total of 1,5 weeks. Lovely people and beautifull castles, parks, coffeebars, and go on.... And then think how cheap it is! Meals for 7 Euros... Hostels for 12 euros a night.... Underrated city, it truly is!!
***** I moved in to live here 3 weks ago and since that I am still discovering beauty of this city :)
i know I am kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
@Jalen Conor Flixportal =)
@Decker Hayden thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it!
After seeing this short vlog I would definitely visit Hungary... if I didn't live here. :)
Maybe i can visit?
dat Pálinka reaction :D so cute :DD
Oooh Donal! You should have done a meetup! I can't believe you were walking around where I live!!!! You were so close! :D Please come back soon!
I've been 100% sure that you guys would mix up the gulyás (gulash) with the pörkölt (stew)... :) they are different things... gulash is a soup :)
+Péter Varga Exactly. That was my first comment as well. Not good for a food series.
+Péter Varga In English the goulash is equal to pörkölt as well as in German. ;)
+Zsuzsa Kirsch Some restaurants translate pörkölt as gulyás stew. This is a common mistake to make.
+tutu1987 of course, but this is their language, and they call the pörkölt goulash.
I get to see the lovely Budapest through your eyes Donal. Bon voyage!
Can't believe you got the chance to visit my country! It would have been incredible if i could have met you. Hope you had a great time!
IM GOING TO BUDAPEST !! fucking awesome City never fought it would be that great
As a hungarian, it made me smile a lot. :) It's always nice to see your country from someone else's point of view, it was truly heartwarming. I also have to highlight the way you say the hungarian names and words, lovely! haha I hope you will come back someday to grab some more lángos and pálinka!
Cannot wait for more adventures, everything looked fantastic.
haha I love how Donal randomly just screams "Helloo!!" to a bunch of strangers!

The architecture is amazing! Why does Europe has to be so expensive to be there?! sobbing*
this is making me hungary
Hey Donal, Loved your vlog about Budapest! I'm wondering if you visited the great marketplace? Beautiful building and it's definitely an experience :)
Very cool! I was surprised that you camera crew was comprised mostly of older people. But they seem really sweet and Anders seems like a fun character and I'm excited to see the final production.
