I Love Kung Fu, but; Master Hung, have you ever actually been in a real fight? Ever been punched in the face? All combat forms become much clearer when actual violence is involved.
I'm on the spot with someone who knew kung fu, I was doing karate. The swirling arm movements and strange attacks are very bamboozling. It's like what the heck is going on, I wonder if that's part of its effectiveness. Obviously this sort of kung fu is not MMA training but the beauty and flow allows people to practise and develop very great skill. How many older guys in the West you know who can move like those two.
These are very real, authentic CLF forms. Just because you don't understand what your looking at or know the difference between "large" form practice and "small" fighting applications doesn't make it fake martial arts. CLF does very well in real fights and MMA.

The flailing arms are meant to wear down and overwhelm the opponents defences, the downside to it is the spendings of energy - good cardio is a must.
