Being a musician first, then an audio engineer for 30+ years, I concur. Most pop music these days is garbage. Standout modern bands... Knower, Thank You Scientist, Snarky Puppy, Consider the Source, etc...
Pro drummer /lead vocalist here for over 30 yrs. Started playing clubs very young. Just wanted to say that to this date, best cover version of this song I have ever heard any band even attempt to try. Same feel to the song. The original from the Tubes always made the hair on the back of my neck and arms stand up. Always loved this song. Awesome job to all the musicians on this one.

Saw the Tubes in concert before they were famous, they were really great and funny in concert.
Still, _The Completion Backwards Principal_ is a really great, funny, album.

The Tubes were such an underrated band. Good job all round. That vocal is quite a challenge, and Austin nailed the keyboard riff. Two thumbs up.
This particular song is a testament to Steve Lukather’s guitar genius. He played bass on it too.
Lukather (not amongst musicians) but amongst the common music fan, doesn’t get his justice as an all-time great. Toto, BozScaggs, to Michael Jackson and many more I could list…he’s a legend!
While he likely wouldn’t fancy himself at all as a singer, he more than did a solid good job when called upon vocally.

What is so shocking about this level of performance is that most everybody is going to compare this against a studio-produced album, with with producers and an engineer, and lots of time dedicated to each track. I'm not sure about this particular song, but this was getting into era when it was no big deal to spend time tracking an extra accent guitar to fatten a part. So, to listen to this thing and hear a pitch-perfect rendition of this song that seems to be a live performance? Well, DAMN. That's impressive and reflects an amazing level of preparation. Nice, job, LLB. This is studio quality.
I was thinking the same thing as I listened! No Pro Tools, no multiple takes for each performer, no click tracks, no qauntizing on the grid and not just a live cover.... more a live reproduction of the recording. Just brilliant! LLB, we hear you!

I was in HS when this song came out. We had so much great music from the Police, SRV, David Bowie, U2, The Fixx, etc.
This song couldn’t be more pop, immature and dumb. It was terrible then and it’s terrible now.
But these guys are great. I just absolutely hate this song.

What makes LLB so great - in addition to the great instrumentals and vocals- is the mixing. Every instrument's sound is spot on, and the vocals blend so well. The videos are great too, an I know that takes time. All in all, a highly polished presentation every time@

As a decades long fan of The Tubes, I was stoked to see, and hear someone give covering them a shot. I have seen them a bunch of times. One thing they never really had was quality back up singing live. You two crushed it backing up the lead. Awesome. :)

This is a HARD song to cover and to sound good. Yet they made it GREAT. Fantastic! 62 year-old here who has been playing drums since the age of 3 and did session work with dozens of major name bands in the late 70's and early 80's.

Unbelievable. This band kicks ass on every song they choose to cover. A+....A+....A+. The weird thing is I just watched an interview by Fee Waybill (Tubes lead singer) about 1-2 weeks ago. Among other things, he spoke of this very song and how it came about. I then played the original version of She's a Beauty along with, Talk to You Later. Had not heard them in decades and forgot what amazing songs they were. Also learned Steve Lukather has a writing credit on both songs along with David Foster (the producer). Then saw LLB had done this cover. Amazing effort by LLB; vocals, guitars, keys, drums and mixing all stood out. Always looking forward to watch/listen more from them.

I’m 72 now and back in the late 70’s and 80’s the Tubes were one of my favorite bands, there first album The Tubes had White Punks on Dope & What do you Want From Life, two great songs . . . glad you guys did a cover of She’s a Beauty 👍
