    I wish I could find her video to give her credit but a really good mental queue for good form I picked up is "hips before nips" as in to initiate upward motion in your hips slightly before your chest. It really helps me keep keep the perfect straight-line form. Great video, thanks as always!

    Needed this! Training up for my next ACFT in a month.
    I was a civilian a year ago, and in part because of your motivational videos I joined at 35 years old. Hoping for a shot at Ranger school but also hoping my body doesn't fall apart. Thank you!

    I always maxed the PU for the APFT. I have struggled maxing my HRP (51 reps). I need 62 for my age group. I will implement these tips TODAY and see how it goes. My next ACFT is on 30 May 2024.

    I never realized how bad my hand position was. I used to be able to casually get 45 reps (I'm no stud), but after a year or so I noticed some mild shoulder pain but major loss of strength to where I was struggling badly to hit 25 reps. Simply lowering my hands as emphasized here and changing nothing else, and I'm back up to around 33-35 reps. It feels way healthier and more sustainable and I wish someone caught me a long time ago before I caused whatever damage that I did with the high hand position.

    My question doesn't involve training at all, and I love watching your videos, super knowledgeable and easy to receive. But what wrist watch did you use during ranger school as well as now. Not sure if I should have asked this in your video for the tip ten things you used for ranger school. But I am curious to know. Hope you get home soon back to your home gym 😊

    I made a 79 on my ASVAB yesterday. I’m a 20 year old male I turn 21 next month. I’m interested in being a Human Intelligence Collector for SF if anyone has any connections or just has any experience with the Intelligence side of the military I would really like to hear about what it means to be a part of intelligence in the SF.

    this isn’t a question specific to hand-release pushups but more of a question about the acft overall. i’m leaving in 2 months and haven’t really prepared myself at all for the test. could training like this consistently up until i leave get me max scores??

    • @GrittySoldier
      @GrittySoldier  2 месяца назад +1

      It will at least help your score. You need to consistently train for something like the ACFT, it’s not a test that you can be successful with on a whim.

    I’m not enlisted yet, going to MEPS hopefully next week (waiver got delayed) but on the Army’s website for the HRP they say to remove the hands from the ground and also to have a controlled descent. Curious your thoughts on that.

    • @GrittySoldier
      @GrittySoldier  2 месяца назад +3

      From the official website: “Movement 3
      The hand release - without moving the head, body or legs, the Soldier fully extends both arms into the T position until the arms are generally straight out to the side. The arms and hands may touch or slide along the ground during this movement.”

    I am 23 currently in my last year of college I graduate in the fall and I am going officer but still thinking if I should go army or marines.
    I Am pretty in Shape, I’m not worry about any exercise touching upper body however running is my weakness, do you have any videos on your channel or advice to get better at running.
    God bless 🫡✝️
