Man I’ve had my Rog Ally for about 3 months and I just sent it to get repaired for the second time smh. The first time was the SD card driver and now my left analog stick moves all over the place when I touch it. I’m really thinking about selling it and buying a Legion go 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Good luck with warranty repairs I guess.
What I prefer is not having to buy a new device every year.
Everything they do with the X update wise you're getting. It really isn't so much for people who has one already. It's more so for people like me who doesn't have one. Don't like it stick with Consoles this is a PC handheld buddy.
Unfortunately, that kind of is the case with new markets. Because the few next generations always have a problem here and there.

@@KarlFluesse they shouldn't it's your own fault actually. That's what happens with new tech. You decided to become an Early Adopter into something like a PC Handheld on the first Generation of a product.
@@dogwithoutw if They don't want the hassle of becoming a early Adopter of a first gen product then they shouldn't should they. You can't do this and then complain about it. Stick with Steam Deck or console something that isn't updating the product yearly.

In theory yes
I love my ally my only issue is trying to unlock it sometimes. The fingerprint doesn't always work and requires a pin but then the touch screen freezes so i have reboot it from bios which is a big pain in the neck.
Just use a local account and have no password
Have you tried to reinstall? I made a NTLite custom Os setup and installed that. Bypassing the cloud install completely. I had issues when I used the cloud too.
@@JamieR I’ve done a reset and it still freezes the touchscreen but I’ve not put a fingerprint on it and I can now access the on screen keypad through accessibility and type a number in. The touchscreen seems to work after a restart. It’s not ideal I would rather be able to touchscreen the numbers in on first startup.
I already upgraded my Ally with 2280 m.2 2TB
I mostly play attached to power and already have a good gaming PC so I won't be upgrading to the X
Having 32gb RAM will be great for the hardcore modding community as previously any update would remove functionality to modified RAM values

Would like a stronger CPU since it's a bottle neck with the Asus XGMobile eGPU Dock, does anyone know if it works with the cheaper AMD external one?
Also just more FPS on the go would be nice, I would love to play that with more than medium Settings and 720P resolution to maintain the 60-70fps - I want to get one used but I think it is worth waiting for the Ally 2 since it's Windows I want to replace my Laptop. That would be amazing!
The chips haven't gotten much better the 8840U is the new chip but it's not much of an improvement and there's no z2 extreme which would be a modified 8840U . So Asus , Lenovo, and MSI all need to focus on 32gb of ram , better cooling to pump out more fps and better cooling to sustain high fps and better battery and then wait for the next z chip based off AMD's unannounced 9840U chip which will probably be released later this year .
Still 7 inch 😭 they should make it bigger than smartphone

I have both and both are brilliant. If I had to choose one it would be the Ally as it can play everything. Both amazing though.
I heard awful things about the ROG Ally, so I got a steamdeck OLED and LCD. I feel like they’re in the lead in regards to handhelds.
After hearing all the horror stories about warrantee issues with ASUS, there is zero chance of me making a purchase from them.
I would definitely buy it they include track pads
And better battery life

I've had two rog allys and both had issues so i sent them right back and got the legion go.
My Ally has been perfect since day one . Brilliant handheld .

@@matthewtolley8655 happy with it thus far. The bigger screen is why I wouldn’t go back to the ally. The device as a whole is not perfect by any means but I prefer it over the ally. I wish I had bought this the first time round

None of this is a leak when ASUS Pulse made the announcement themselves lmao and rumor of the screen isn't a rumor either since they said that themselves in the video that it's the exact same screen as the current one 😂.

I kept an open mind about ASUS and they let me down with a broken sd slot, the XG port to capitalize on their $2k GPU, terrible user experience, and now a questionable RMA. ASUS deserves no praise, I'm crawling to Lenovo.
They should just have their own OS much like the steam deck. I wouldnt use my gaming handheld for anything else other than gaming anyways

You must be talking about the msi claw , and the GO...I hate them both...my Rog ally is awesome!! So is there updating everything...and the build quality is great! Unlike the go!! Not to mention the speakers on the Go....go right in the trash!!!

Ally is no good steam deck is better to deal with because windows 11 is bad
Sold my Steam Deck to get an Ally almost a year ago and played way over 1.5k hours on it , works flawless and never regretted 😅

@@cs-ge5kx i get this Point but it was actually the OS that drove me crazy haha because i Always hate tinkering with Linux but you have to at some Point and also some stuff simply doesnt Work at all. Also a Windows Handheld runs also Linux (also steamos), a Steamos Handheld likely will never Run Windows Well enough to BE your Main OS 😅 since i do Not have a PC and my Ally is my everything it Just turned Out to BE better than the SD, also Performance is Always 2-4x
