I used to think ableton was only for Dj’s and bands until I started actually using it. It’s high price is what scares people away. Ableton is easier to use than fl studio in terms of sampling IMO. You actually can drag your samples anywhere on the grid in ableton. Every DAW has its uses.
The difference between kids and professionals is that professionals never say this DAW sucks , that DAW sucks because they know all DAWs are made for music production not for kids use
As an ex FL user myself, i dare everyone here to try ableton for a week, and then come back and tell me you wanna go back to FL studio. Seriously, it's like upgrading from imovie to final cut pro, no one goes back.
I tried lol it's super complicated Fl Studio has the piano roll in front of you,mixer, everything layed out, with Ableton I had to search up how to open up the piano roll。

FL plugins are VSTS people! tbh. all DAWS should provide VST versions of their plugins. id buy FL just for the plugins if i had money.

ableton sux. They screwed me over. You get the trial and make some beats and little songs, think it's all cool kinda to play around with. Then go to buy and get the intro and figure that's enough to play around with. Then find out that literally 99% of the stuff that is kinda cool is not usable in intro and basically have to buy suite with is 7 times more expensive than intro, which intro is so neutered it's virtually completely useless besides the most basic of shit which any free DAW can beat. Bait and switch.. Then to kick me in the balls, I find out you can get a free lite edition included, which is basically intro , when buying a midi push controller. What a crock of crap.
Can't you get a refund :( I paid full price for Ableton and then found out a week later you can get a 40% student discount so I emailed them and they refunded the 40% back

i love ableton, but I still use 8 and I am getting tired of the crashes. ableton's tech support sucks, but I have nothing to compare it to. I might upgrade to Reason, the DAW I started on years ago. when ableton crashes, all my serum presets are erased unless I saved the patches....
