Love your accent. I live in the U.S.A,, so I noticed your accent and you r a beautiful person. Love your knowledge of your painting experience. Thanks.
@@rashone2879 Watercolour can be reactivated once dry, that’s why finished pieces must be protected either behind a frame or with a fixative. Don’t believe me? Go get an old watercolour of yours and wet it then use a synthetic brush to move the water over your piece, then use a paper towel to dab up the water - you will see pigment on your paper towel and your piece will be ruined with water marks and pigment removal. Sure gouache more moveable when rewetted because the pigments used in gouache are milled finer, but neither watercolour or gouache are permanent when dry. The best method of making them both permanent once dry is to use Dorland’s wax which makes them virtually water proof.
I love this one. I love all your art but of course some of it I really really love, and this is one painting that stands out for me. The whole thing looks so beautiful and well put-together, so smooth, and the way you use "pastelly", romantic colours in your work along with your incorporation of flowers, shells, or insects makes you stand out amongst so many other watercolour artists.
I love white gouache I use my white gouache last with my watercolor paintings unless I want a misty look then can use anytime. I've heard acryla gouache is good for laying down base coats since it drys permanently and can be layered but I don't know how is the clean up for it 😅 I forgot to add this is gorgeous! Love all the detail of her outfit 💕
Hi Lioba, maybe you already know it but, instead of using gouache, I think that Daniel Smith white watercolour ground is a better way to "save" your paintings :) btw I really like your spontaneous way of doing backgrounds in watercolour, it's a nice contrast to the realism of your subjects.
There are two kinds of gouache, Gum Arabic / acrylic. What you can do too, (what I do) is you can get cheap craft acrylic. I will use an antique white or eggshell (there are so many variations of white you could possibly find the one that matches your paper). I like this method better than using gouache because it doesn't mix with your watercolor as much and make it look milky.
If you want to layer more gouache without ruining prior layers, you should try Acryla Gouache! It's basically the same as gouache except it dries faster and more resistant to change like acrylics!
Hi Lioba! Great work again :) How do you fix the watercolor paper to the wood so it doesn't change form when it gets in contact with water? Does it happen naturally when you use glue that the paper doesn't expand or do you use a special sort of glue?
Hi I am huge fan from Philippines, I just want to ask regarding the colored pencil. Did you use regular colored pencil or water colored pencil. Thank you so much, your work is very inspiring.

one thing I find really sad, is that the photographer of the original photography you used as an inspiration doesn't have the slightest chance to give his opinion

Thank you so much, Debra!
Gouache = opaque watercolour, it is as simple as that 🙂
True haha

Yes, but no. It is not as simple as that :)

Hi! Daniel Smith has watercolor grounds and it's supposed to be used the exact same way as you used the white gouache :)
You definitely inspire me.
