0.6 fps still shows as 1 fps iirc, but the difference in latency is 1.6 seconds versus 1 second flat. Which is additional 60% latency and is very noticeable

Oh, my experience at sieges in one MMO. Game was single thread limited, and as result i got dropped down to 1 frame every 3-5 seconds. Ngl, after i tried this game with better CPU recently, it was pretty smooth, even though still could drop to like 20-40 FPS. Unless i toggles other characters on. Then it went straight to 1 FPS or less.
I use Geforce now at 1440p to 4k max bit rate running at 50Mbps and I might have a short stutter every hour or two, but other then that it runs perfect.
to be fair, the RX 580 2048SP is actually a usable (maybe not great) 1080p gaming GPU, as shown in the beginning of the video. The only thing really sketch about this GPU is the marketing (and maybe the 6-pin to 2x8-pin power adapter).
The only reason we're seeing more of this card right now is because it fell over extended support and that made them very cheap to buy and the same goes for the lower Polaris SKUs like RX550.

Dawid I want to say a BIG THANKYOU! I recently built my first PC and it's been crashing under heavy load. I have tried absolutely everything I could think of to stabilise it but it just wouldn't work reliably. When you pulled out the GPU and criticised the crappy splitter it sparked an idea - I was using a similar cable that came with my PSU (8 pin to two 8 pin pigtail). I replaced it with two separate 8 pin connectors and now the system is not only stable but also working significantly better too! I never would have thought of this if not for your video!
@@chummy7294probably Thermal Throttle (i barely looked at the video lmao), this 580 can pull up to 90-100 ish Degrees Celsius fairly fast because this spacific model has a shit fan curve/max speed because the chinese also wanted to pull up with "Silent" in marketing, who woulda guess that shitty plastic fans would actually translate to a barely useable 8k graphics card
@@k3n179 this is more 570 than 580 and cooler like this one should be enough to avoid thermal throttling but die contact is probably bad, gap between heatpipes and plate is visible even on video and that groove in between doesn't help. They try to fill that with thermal paste but as we all know that's not how paste work.
@@gorky_vk yeah, but the thing is, this specific fan and hestpipe design is actually made for the GTX 10 series (specifically the 1050 and 1050TI and 1060 3gb) that actually doesn't heat up that much as the regular old capped rx 500 series that they sell from china, the heat pipes are actually bent and re-made to be hastly packed by only 4 screws on the non-existent backplate, and the motor on the fan is really really sensible to heat, here in Brazil is really common to see that the fan die with a couple months of use and then you can buy replacements
You do because downscaling adds overhead. The GPU has to render each frame at 8k then scale it down to your monitor's native resolution in real time. Even if you use the virtual display method, you're still adding overhead because that's how Virtual Super Resolution works. It creates a virtual display at that resolution, then gives you the downscaled version of it at your native.
My crusty old 1080ti ran Fallout New Vegas at 8K really well, unfortunately it looked worse than 1440p because the model and texture issues became more visible.
Back on my zenith portable, i ran MS flight Simulator 4 with less than 1FPS. I just wanted that executable to run, no matter what. This started my career in IT

For example, in Forbidden west, the game allocates about 6 gb of the vram, but actually uses 5 gb of it. Not a huge difference but still a difference.

My 6950 XT on a 4K display with Super Resolution however does allow for up to 8K in apps and windows. That is outdated or for older GPUs because it is actually up to 8K in my case with a RX 6950 XT and with it off 4K becomes the highest again.
@@GraveUypo mihoyo games have built-in super resolution features. just set the "render quality" to 2.0 or 200% (it's different in each game) and you'll render the game at 8K if you have a 4K monitor.

I just sold my sapphire pulse rx580 today for 60 bucks. I bought it last year for 50 used, super mint condition. I simply bought it cuz I was never able to afford it during bitcoin mining craze. Basically I just molest it, touching it here and there, holding it me hand from time to time. Sold it cuz I think someone else can find a better use it for it.

but i did run 8k on my 6900xt before i sold it. i ran genshin impact. it ran at like 25fps iirc
My 6950 XT on a 4K display with Super Resolution however does allow for up to 8K in apps and windows. That is outdated or for older GPUs because it is actually up to 8K in my case with a RX 6950 XT and with it off 4K becomes the highest again.
I was able to run a Firepro S9050 @ 8k on Super Resolution. It's sort of like a 12 GB 7970.
