I'm real curious to hear what happened with hickey, was he just no longer interested after the record was set or was there a falling out? And if so over what?
I bet it was because the body was flexing so much you can see he was having a hard time keeping it straight and probably thought it would shatter into pieces,, you can see it on the 1st run, notice on the 2nd run they recorded it from the frt and not the rear..
@@mechanic808 I bet most of that "flex" we see is an illusion created by the camera..."rolling shutter" is the culprit. But I agree he did get a little squrrely toward the end of the run. Notice how drive #2 stayed away from the blue line, likely finding smoother surface to run on.
@@fredygump5578 ya, I think your right, but i still think that body must have been flexing a lot since it's only fiber glass as they said in the video..

Roger got a record and a red hat for the 200 Club, something very few people do their first time in a car at Bonneville, others try for most of their life to achieve this. That dorsal was whipping around and deforming on the first run. I'd consider something to stiffen the member, maybe some spray in foam or a couple of baffles.
Did Jim bring the car to the ride side of the strip to take advantage of less disturbed salt during his record run? Was this a purposeful decision on his part, and if so why? Thank you for sharing.
@Andrew Brent Sure, in cities (even I'm annoyed by loud vehicles when I'm in my home), but a streamliner isn't even capable of driving on city streets. If I go to a race track, though, I want to HEAR the cars, and I want to hear MY car.

Love it! Great work! (But speak to Tavarish about some proper music 😘)
Very cool! Onward and upward!
Ow! that was an older Saab 900 smoking behind you after the 218 run... I used to run those pretty hard (still have a 4-door, no brakes.., but I've got one still; great 'family car', btw...), but not That Hard!!
Looks cool with the glass off
Outstanding gentleman EV rocks
for an oldie man . . .. its darn right creepy watching it pull away silently
but well done
So cool to see the first electric car at Bonneville
I'm guessing you knew the White Lightning electric car ran 245 mph at Bonneville in 1999. 👍
Wow! Nice work!
The C.O.G. must be really low because the stability appears to be really good.
This thing looks like it's from the future as imagined in the 60ies.
Was this the same Hickey, who was the original downhill skate boarder?. Used to live off Brookurst & Westminister.
So fantastic to be using solar for the car & bikes!
Congratulations from down under!
Hey would of been great to see the telemetry on the runs ....
We'll be releasing these soon.
Awesome record, great work
That dorsal was whipping around and deforming on the first run. I'd consider something to stiffen the member, maybe some spray in foam or a couple of baffles.
We are working on a new aluminum body that will solve this issue. Hope to be set before the '21 season starts in May.
Did Jim bring the car to the ride side of the strip to take advantage of less disturbed salt during his record run? Was this a purposeful decision on his part, and if so why? Thank you for sharing.
This is great, thanks keep up the good work
Is an electric vehicle more reliable/less things that can go wrong?
Also, is there an auto-traction control?
Beautiful looking vehicle.
You don't need the crap background "muzak" .Mighty impressed with the car, more power to y'all
Proof again, power and speed doesn't have to be loud. Quiet down the world.
the less noise we hear the more efficient it probably is, in most things
But this thing is pretty slow compared to many of these kinds of vehicles.
@@PistonAvatarGuy certainly, they are probably limited by only having 1 gear, its probably also hard to change final ration on it
@Andrew Brent The future is bleak.
@Andrew Brent Sure, in cities (even I'm annoyed by loud vehicles when I'm in my home), but a streamliner isn't even capable of driving on city streets. If I go to a race track, though, I want to HEAR the cars, and I want to hear MY car.
