That root cellar door may only look like it leads to a mine, but Lumnah Acres still produces its quota of gold every day! I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the door construction and trim work. Figaro is very cute, if a tad naughty. Gina and Olivia were both looking lovely and I hope the recital went well! :)
Root cellar build coming together real nice. Ooohhh, pasture raised pork meat sauce, spaghetti, and fresh baked herb bread, nice meal!!! Al your ladies all look beautiful! A concert with Miss Olivia singing, all priceless!!! God Bless
My father made the frame for the insulated doors so that they were 1/2 inch smaller on the inside of the door than the outside. This made clearence for the door to clear opening when it was swinging open and close. The outside face of the door was 1/2 inch larger than the opening for weather striping and the frame around the inside opening was 1/2 inch smaller than the opening for weather striping to close against. Worked for 50 years.
I love love love your channel! You are doing everything that I want to do! You are awesome Al!! Olivia was so beautiful in her concert outfit! Blessed you are!!!
great job with the frame of the door !! you got to love the instant pot for for quickness and convenience, dinner looked good !! Olivia look so grown up once she got ready for her concert !!
you need a work shop brother!! Now, I understand also....you're tough enough to handle the brief stops outside and it does save walking back and forth to a nice warm shop!! LOL! Looks great my friend!! Enjoying the build!
I sure hope she continues to sing. I and my daughter participated in Choir and she continues to love it. I don't anymore, but sure love singing. That was a cute outfit she had on. How was the dinner?
Oh Olivia! You are so pretty for your concert! Hope we get to hear some footage of that! Love my Kerry Gold Unsalted Butter Too! Gotta give us a video recipe for the luscious bread!
Great Video Al! Gina did a very good job on Olivia's hair, she is so cute. The root cellar project is coming along nicely. One thing tho...every time you used the table saw it made me wince. Please consider using some scrap wood to push your boards or you might end up looking like my high school shop teacher Mr. "Three Fingers" Smith.
I had a bunch of kittens who chewed the cords to an aquarium. To avoid electrocuted kittens I coated the cords in Louisiana hot sauce. One kitten insisted on trying to eat the q tip. I dipped it and let him have it. He never touched the cords or a q tip again. Guizzmo was with me for 19 years. He never chewed on any cords after the hot sauce treatment. I have a friend who put the tubing used to hold car wiring together on his computer cables to keep his cat from chewing. Maybe these ideas will help deter Figaro. I almost wish l had a wood burning stove to keep my coffee hot LOL!!! Your daughter is very beautiful. I hope the evening went well.
"Goooood morning modern steaders"! Has become my morning signal to sort my prescriptions and supplements into their containers for the day! Every time I see cooking being done, and hear that loud beep, I think the smoke alarm is going off. Kinda shows you how good I am at cooking, 'eh? LOL
Give me your opinion Al. I like a straight chop saw.....Gina likes a sliding chop. You have a preference? We're going to pick her up a small sliding chop after the new years and I'm going for a new straight chop!
Hay Al, I live in California and (wood) like to know how that wood heater in uour basement heats your whole house. I never see any ducking coming off it. Plus, we don't have those out here where I am so I have no clue.
You should think about your floor in your root cellar cold travels down and having it on a slab will pull the cold out and into the rest of your slab no matter how well you insulate and seal the door it’s not going to be cold with out insulation in the floor
Al, you need to order another beanie or swipe the one you ordered back from Gina. Your ears are going to freeze off. What a great family night, dinner together and then Olivia's concert.
Easy for someone from warm Arizona to say. Frost bite or making a mistake because your hands are numb is also bad. In cold climates, you got to do what you got to do to get the job done. Besides, gloves and long sleeves safety while using a table saw is debatable. ruclips.net/video/UeQzIzj3j_Q/видео.html
John Harris, how can it be that cold out? He only cut 3 boards on the table saw and he didn't even wear the gloves when he used the miter box. But you have to agree that if wearing gloves, he should at least be using a push stick and not getting his gloves so close to the blade. Also, why work outside in the freezing cold? I'd rather wait for a warmer day. No piece of ham is worth risking my hand to a table saw because of loss of dexterity because of cold. Sorry if the mama bear came out, but hands don't grow back and are very precious. xoxo from sunny Arizona. only 77 today.
John Harris, I watched your video. I might have agreed with you if he had a zero clearance plate, but he doesn't. And the other reason I can't agree is the video just below yours: ruclips.net/video/8ZRhFrj7M0I/видео.html sorry, arms are just not worth the risk... Even the boy in your video wasn't willing to do his test on his own arm. xoxo from Arizona.
He has a job, he cooks, he cleans, he dots on his daughter, he has a gorgeous wife and he is good looking too. Amazing!!!

Thanks, yes the recital want great. Glad you are back Simon!

Thanks, the concert was a lot of fun
Another fun day on the homestead... Thanks for sharing your projects and show us how to keep busy :)

hans has a point Al with the thicker door you will need more clearance
Had to laugh when you said "perfect looks good now let's screw up the other end "!! I have a twisted sense of humor!! Looks great
Robert Veronda I snorted when he said that. I was like what wait I thought he said it was perfect?! Then I snorted with humor I guess Im warped too.
I love love love your channel! You are doing everything that I want to do! You are awesome Al!! Olivia was so beautiful in her concert outfit! Blessed you are!!!
Great progress on the cave. It is going to be awesome and that bread looked great. See you tomorrow. Greetings from Andreas on Off Grid Sweden
great job with the frame of the door !! you got to love the instant pot for for quickness and convenience, dinner looked good !! Olivia look so grown up once she got ready for her concert !!
Great video. I enjoyed the dentist part, Olivia’s confidence, and Al cooking in the flannel and vest.
Got my wife an Instant Pot for Christmas. Made some 5 min spaghetti tonight!
How did you like the spaghetti?
It turned out great and the one pot clean up is a huge bonus!
What a bunch of cuties! Don't worry Al, you're looking good too!
:)
Olivia looks so cute!! The cave is shaping up nicely
Absolutely beautiful. Love'd the trim too.
Got a recipe for that bread, it looked yum! I hope Olivia enjoyed her concert, nice job as usual on everything!! ~~Leslie
once I get it 100% right I will share it
That bread looks delicious! Have a great time Olivia! :)
Looking good

Yes we do need a shop. Someday.

Once I finish tweaking the bread recipe I will post it.
Nice family dinner at the end.
A great and informative video. I also dread going to the dentist. I look forward to seeing tomorrow's video. God bless America.
Your channel is so awesome..cooking, woodworking, hair styling and where to find a kitty!! 😍😍

Thanks for being there. xoxo from Arizona
Making progress!

thank you for sharing...
🤔 I think I may need to make spaghetti tomorrow. That looked good! There’s a new bread recipe I saw on Facebook too... I’ll be the copy cat lol.
Hi..... AL your video is amazing I love to watch your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👨👩👧👸👕👓🐩🐔🐓🐕🐖🐈🐐🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
Your cat needs a sock that is all his own. Hes just following his hunting instincts lol!

bbbbrrrrr I love your wood stove!! Dinner looks great :)
Damn, I’m starving, looks delicious‼️👍👍 Vinny 🇺🇸
All dolled up! Beautiful girls. Al, you should really post the recipes on your webpage. I'd love them.
I do need too.
that's a tasty looking meal !!! made me hungry. LOL
Give me your opinion Al. I like a straight chop saw.....Gina likes a sliding chop. You have a preference? We're going to pick her up a small sliding chop after the new years and I'm going for a new straight chop!
I like both! Lol. But a slider takes up a lot more room.
I think its great you 3 sit and eat together as a family
I think he does it because he's not an asshole. You should try it sometime.
Next springs project should be a shop building. :)
Yes we could use a shop!:)
Beautiful baby girl.
It's a good practice to use a minimum of 12 ga. extension cords. They draw less amps.
I adore recipes! Can you post the bread recipe on the website?
You need a Murphy door pivot hinge to make that work better for you.
we have some -40 deg in here !!!
Wht a pretty girl! Was Olivia just singing or also playing her flute? Love the earrings!
Olivia was signing. She has to wait until next year to be able to play her flute in it
Hay Al, I live in California and (wood) like to know how that wood heater in uour basement heats your whole house. I never see any ducking coming off it. Plus, we don't have those out here where I am so I have no clue.
I will do a video on the stove this winter
You should think about your floor in your root cellar cold travels down and having it on a slab will pull the cold out and into the rest of your slab no matter how well you insulate and seal the door it’s not going to be cold with out insulation in the floor
We want to hear more about what that dentist told you he does and what you do
food goooooooood
Hey ! No push stick when using the saw ? That is a quick way to lose some fingers !
Just one slip or moment of inattention and , well , you know !!
Olivia, you look very pretty honey.
My natural sourdough doesn’t rise enough. It’s way to dense. My thought is that I keep my winter temp in the house at 65
Al, Idk about that pressure cooked pasta and all of that... Lol
It is crazy what you can cook in the instant pot
Lumnah Acres The diner looked delish...
Lumnah Acres Another great benefit from a pressure cooker or the energy you save vs cooking on the stove.
👍 👍
like like like
lol was that coffee too hot or something at the start of the video looks like a blooper edit
you need a new blade or your blade is out of alignment(square) with the fence
Figaro is probably teething right now. Hopefully when he looses his baby teeth it will stop.
I hope so! Lol
Get a new blade.
Al, you need to order another beanie or swipe the one you ordered back from Gina. Your ears are going to freeze off. What a great family night, dinner together and then Olivia's concert.
the darn cat ate it!
Yikes! You should never wear gloves and long sleeves when using a table saw. So very dangerous! xoxo from Arizona
