Clear up some comments: yes, this train does have regenerative braking (loco is an ALP-46), but since it is running cab car first, it cannot be controlled individually from the cab car and rather is "blended" with the air brakes. Also, this video was not taken inside the cab: it is just behind the cab in the passenger compartment of a cab car coach. Locomotive is pushing on other end; train is bi-directional "push-pull".

Just bought New Jersey Transit simulator video game on Xbox. This operator in the video taught me a lesson on how to pull the service and lap ,then repeat again every couple of seconds..., To Make the train slow down not too fast, but gradually. In the video game it has the Amtrak Acela (which is my favorite),... Amtrak Frontends and backends with the yellow. And New Jersey Transit front-end and back-ends. The route is only from Penn Station to Trenton.
@BentraxVideos I should clarify , they don;t allow Engines to run in Diesel mode because of the fumes. Some of Amtraks Engines are dual mode they run electric in PENN until they hop on the Empire Line. The NJT AC Express also has diesel but it's off and basically used as cab car with and ALP on the hind end pushing until they get to Shore Interlocking and switch over to diesel.
@GSXRMark99 Not sure, I know if you go over the speed limit restriction it goes off, but also you have the dead man switch. If adding sand it makes the same noise. I am sure after while you get used to it.
Wow you got very lucky there! 5 stars! Actually where you were standing the audio would be great for models and games. On Metro-North I've gotten pretty lucky many times because MN has a lot of engineers and conductors who like railfanners.

All of the engines used in passenger service do have dynamic breaking which for the most part is computer controlled including the MU sets. A few of the alps you can manually used the Dynamic break just keep in mind though it has to be used correctly or it just be like using the independent break causing the cars to run into the Engine.
@GSXRMark99 It's either the alerter aka deadman, or Cab signal enforcing a slower or more restrictive speed/signal aspect and your required to acknowledge, by the looks his speed is kinda slow, and the sander doesnt make any noise only indicator light. maybe a slight hiss..and no emergency message is sent a penalty application is incurred. reset it and go...

(Not that I recommend you go that fast unless you see string of "Clear Signals" even at that not wise) What you guys don't realize is the amount of signals all over the place and how close they're to one another in some case less than a half car length. You have to watch how you're aligned and make sure you have the signals. (obscure signals)

As an Engineer you get used to how handle your train to make it run smooth, if you care that is. All equipment acts differently though even same set running from another end changes
Dylon Vandergrift the beeping? If your talking about the beeping no it isn’t it’s the acknowledge button you have to press it goes off every minute if you don’t press the button it goes into emergency it’s basically a alerter for the engineer to make sure he’s alive etc.
Coming out of the tunnel into NJ is always a beautiful thing but seeing it from the front of a locomotive is another beauty to behold.
