This instrument is called "Meena" and the lady's own father basically invented this instrument if you can believe it. Its based off of a Sitar but it was made in the 1930s or 1940s i believe if im not mistaken. And yes u roll the R's and Noori means speed of light and "Hor Vi Neevan Ho" means even more bowed down.
Thank you for reacting, Coke Studio songs are usually long takes you on a whole journey (as you said you can zone out) but lyrics/poetry are a v big part of it. The strange equipment played by their mother is called "Sagar Veena", it was invented by her Father and she is probably the only one who can play it (sadly), it has v unique sound and also played by her in one of other Coke Studio songs called "Paar Chaana De" which also features Noori and a guest vocalist from India. P.S: You videos didnt show up on recommendation you should probably add Coke Studio into title as songs names are v unique so probably don't show in recommendations for many people
That was relaxing yeah .. Noori is eccentric but relaxing it seems. The second guy resembles my uncle. They do always have English subtitles available if one clicks CC at the top right ...as long as the video one is watching is an upload by the original channels... Coke Studio or Rohail Hyatt channels... not a duplicate from "Popbox" channel. I suggest something by Atif Aslam on Coke Studio next as he does a variety of genres. Take care sir!

Hor vi neevan ho.Its in Punjabi and it means ,"Bow down even further".Meaning to say be even more humble

A little update. I finally figured out how to keep the subtitles on the videos. No one on youtube tells you how to do it but somehow I figured it out.
