$5 Fancy 5 Course Dinner (Cheap Fancy Meals)

- Sometimes you need a fancy culinary experience but unfortunately, not everyone can afford an expensive night out at a pricy restaurant. That's why today I made a full 5-course meal for only $5 dollars. I tried finding the best option for each course by finding cheap, fresh ingredients and non-complicated dishes even a student can make.
I made: bruschetta, simple veggie soup, spaghetti aglio e olio, glazed chicken with pea puree and a chocolate mousse.

As an Italian - that aglio and olio looks lovely! You have my blessing. Toss some chili flakes in that oil too, we make it "aglio, olio e peperoncino".
(It's pronounced ALLIO, similarly to how you'd pronounce the Ls in 'million')
uggleeo and oleeo
Volevo dire la stessa roba però vabbè
Also I see the water was boiling when he put the pasta in
This i correct!!!

This is perfect. It's also how restaurants make money...cheap ingredients, but made with love and effort.
A little secret that my mom tought me (i don't even know if a lot of italians know this, but I can assure it works really well) is to use, for the pasta aglio e olio, a little bit of bread crumbs to make the oil better stick to the spaghetti (and you can also leave out the pasta water but as a student myself olive oil is expensive so.. lol) ✨💃
Shit’s got no nutrients why would I make it
@@mrbanana6464 sorry, what do you mean no nutrients? Pasta aglio e olio has nutrients as other dishes with pasta and different type of condiment.
@@mela6797 The pepper and garlic is negligible, but bread crumbs, pasta, and oil? It's all empty calories and will be quickly digested, leaving you hungry again in a few hours.
@@mrbanana6464 well you can obviously eat something else after or even before it, or just don't make it at all if you don't want to!
But nothing you'll say is going make it less of a tasty, easy and super fast dish~
And to be honest I think you'd digest a simple salad a lot faster than those "empty calories" that actually take need time to be digested, since we are talking about carbohydrates and unsaturated fats. Other than that, I feel so satisfied after eating a good plate of pasta, but I get that it's not for everyone. :D
@@mrbanana6464 you have to thrust us. When comes to food, Italians know what they do.
Edit: those breadcrumbs turns crispy and flavorful and will make a huge difference in the general flavor and consistency
I actually made the soup you talked about at 1:23 and tbh I didn’t like the consistency of the soup too much. Without the fiber that the peels of the veggies provide, the consistency of the soup turned out like goop. I mean, it was delicious nonetheless, but I didn’t really like the goopy texture and consistency. I’ll probably serve it for myself with some breadcrumbs, tofu, and maybe cheese mixed in the soup to counteract the goopy texture. Just my two cents on the soup :). I made the bruschetta too and that turned out amazing!
You can cook pasta in it - it's my favourite way of having veggie soups. Use a short format, the dry one. Broken up spaghetti is also good!
@@giuliafornaciari9235 I actually ended up doing that and the soup was delicious :) Also, turns out, you just need to let the soup cool down a little bit and the goopy consistency goes away
This is just how I make my potato soup, just add all the broth in one go and cook until the veggies are soft. If you use an immersion blender until the soup gets creamier but you still have veggie chunks, maybe you like it better?
pureed soups without starch or cream were a mistake. they taste like baby food.
Wow your channel transferred from 1000 subscribers to 1.16m subscribers in only 9 months.. well that's because it's a great channel.. 👍

I remember when I was younger my mom used to (and still does ) made the egg white and sugar thing and she would sometimes put strawberry in it and me and my brother would eat😋
There’s a technique to make chocolate pudding with literally only chocolate and water! Can save even more that way
as an Italian don't worry you actually didn't mess up alot! it was actually pretty close to what i cook
One of the best food channels. Amazing work and fun to watch
Wow, just watched this video of you giving thanks for 1k subscribers. Just 1 year later! You’re at 2.37 million. Thanks for the motivation 🎉
I’m sharing your channel with people I know! Great content man ! Keep it up!!!
You’re sooo funny 😄. I’ve really enjoyed this video. You hardly see this kind of content anywhere. Was watching you on my 📺 & I’ve had to switch to my phone just so I can give you a like. Kudos 😎 👏
Yesterday afternoon I came across your first video! And then I spent over two hours binge watching your videos and your shorts! You are funny! Your cooking is right on this dinner is a healthy delicious dinner and for only five dollars for five courses! According to a couple of reviews the pasta might not have a lot of nutrition it has a lot of taste! And sometimes that’s what we go for! The only thing I would have add to the pasta would’ve been some Parmesan Reggiano, but other than that, I would cook this for company! Keep up the good job!
This is great! Definitely going to make these.
I've made a mousse like tht before n honestly if u just fold the melted chocolate in the whip cream it also works 👀 just whip the cream a bit longer and put in fridge too and it's pretty good too
this guys vids are always so relaxing and the food looks amazing
So the people who love fall and want to try pumpkin or squash in that soup that’s a great idea too🌸
I realized and memorized so many things. So good yo👌
Haha ik herken de producten! Really enjoy your video's, thank you for sharing the recipes ^^
That soup is a good base for lots of different flavors. Indian, add curry powder, applesauce (or diced apple), coconut milk. Thai, add whatever flavors make Thai food Thai food. Greek, add feta and olives. Italian, add Parmesan, fennel seeds, garlic… have fun with it!

pea puree-->tarragon is a MUST !!!
I am so happy to find your channel:) not a student anymore but sometimes have no time or have to save, so your ideas are wonderful:)) for Italian pronunciation - aglio don’t pronounce “g” :) just “alio”:)
Hello 🤗
Wow this is amazing
Use some type of glass for the chocolate moose. I don't know what they are called. Like a tall dessert glass. Chocolate moose is delicious though.
AGGGGlioooo! The G is silent!!! I love your videos and you are so funny! :D
Please try pakistani breakfast “Anda chanay , suji halwa with lachha paratha or naan bread”
To keep the pea puree vibrant green. Don't hammer them. There already blanched and shocked by the packager to stabilize the chlorophyll.
bruv its a crime that this has 4k views but still dope tho, you have ideas for snacks in between meals? I sometime am hungry in between meals and cant really afford fresh fruits or packaged snacks so i was wonderingg if there's any, 1 pan or 3-5 ingredient snack to fill up a bit before a meal
im bingewatcging ur videos 😅

I really enjoyed the food licker joke. That was in my opinion, the best part of the video. Yep, she is definitely a food licker.
Spaghetti en kip, het lekkerste!🤤
Make sure to pull the pasta when it's less than al dente and finish it in the pan with that wonderful aglio y olio
You went from 1000 subscribers to over three MILLION in a YEAR?!? Well, you do deserve them! Us. You deserve us, though not all of us deservo you.

Please if you don't mind and if it's not too late to ask, what electric cooker are you using?
Fun fact is your making chocolate mousse just chill it in your serving dish, it'll look better, and there's less dishes :)
You're now on almost 3 mill
i'm from latinoamerica and is kinda funny that a regular soup to me can be considered "fancy" haha.
It's not considered fancy lol
You are great 💪🥇
❤️
„1 year from now you will be one of the OGs“ its Not even a year after this Video released and He already got from 1000 to 2.000.000

Hemelse modder... Heavenly mudd 😂 we call it
looks nice but to be a fancy dinner you need more than just good looking dishes, I challenge you to do a video preparing some of the new Basque recipes from the best San Sebastián Michelin star restaurants.
new Basque cuisine recipes*
That's one lucky girlfriend
First time i've heard mushy peas described as a pea pureé
this is cool and all but here in Sweden for 5$ i legit can only buy the cheapest bread and the cheapest ham. Its hard being a uni student here
Csn you use aquafaba instead of eggs? (In desert)
Quick note: "Aglio" is pronounced with a sweet sound. The G is almost silent, and the L is pronounced like the L in the name "Carl". Like "Ahl-lio"
Haha poop dish was my favorite
The romanian accents reveals itself by accident mr kwook
What's the name of the song that plays? That beat?
i don't know if thats your frnd or girlfrnd, but u guys rlly look alike 🤓🤓like siblings! (and you both are rlly funny too!)
You should now boil honey instead add at the end better for health ❤️
