Couldn’t find a definitive answer on whether these billet distributors would work with a stock fuel pump. Thanks for the video, your video answered my question and showed a nice install for me to see. Appreciate it!
Put the same unit on in my split single cab and having issues with 2 gear hesitation. What springs did you put inside the dizzy? Also your top genny pulley looks way bent ;)
I’m running this one with the standard light silver springs and luckily I’m not getting a flat spot or any hesitation out of second gear. Thanks for the heads up! This engine is due for some out of car maintenance, so I’ll put that on the list! Haha
Yes, great point! That does need plugging after removing a vacuum advance distributor. This was done off camera 👍 but I should have made a mention of it. Thanks!
Really enjoying it so far! It’s made the engine a bit peppier and nicer to run around town. I’ll get a bit of a review done and uploaded. Cheers! Ricky
@@VWClassicFix thanks for the reply. I decided to install one a couple months ago. Yes, I love it too! Seems to start easier and idle nicer. The motor likes to rev a bit better too. All in all, no regrets at all!

Get that coil wired backwards and you blow the ignition module (inside the distributor) not the coil, just an FYI.
Yes you’re right, a great point! Thank you!
Good job man. I hope you remembered to plug the vacume advance port on the carb.

Thanks Max!

How do you like this ignition on your stock motor? Would love to hear about it

Great to hear!!
A tiny improvement for a reasonable cost. The best improvement you can make to a bug is new, hi quality tyres like Michelin's or pirelli.
Yes, great point John! Good quality tyres make a world of difference, along with a good balance and alignment.
Nice job 👍
Lol when’s the timing video coming out
Sorry for the delay, but it’s been released! Cheers
