My dad was a proud, hard-nosed steel worker who believed that you shouldn't wear another man's name on your back. I've been a Steelers fan for 49 years and although I don't wear it very often, I have only owned one jersey in my life, Lambert 58.

Lambert wasn't another man, he was THE man. This coming from an Eagles fan.

That 74 Steelers draft was the greatest draft in NFL history. Lambert, Swan, Stallworth, Webster, and Shell. All in the HOF. 70s steeler defense most iconic in history and this man was the most focused, fierce, and respected man on that great defense. And maybe ever. I'm honored to have met Jack in 2006 and got his autograph.

Don Shula applauded when Jack referred to "perhaps the greatest defense ever assembled". That's quite the compliment.

Nobody on the 2024 steelers can say these words. They are all transitory players.

since when does natural size have to do with accomplished ability? That would be like my 250 frame playing against a bunch of HS kids. Of course I will outperform everyone.

Mike Tyson and Rocky Marciano were shorter than every fighter they faced. Lambert himself was considered undersized. Size and strength are only parts of the equation for athletic abilities. Speed, stamina, and heart are also huge factors
