That exhaust is so Steam Punk pretty 😍 The visual is better than new. That pipe drop - although unfortunate - was quite a quality test proof of the peice.
Matt what you need is in the industry called a “Dead Man” or officially an under hoist jack. They are super cheap and way more useful than the transmission jack you were talking about getting.
You're so lucky the exhaust didn't fall on your head as well xD The car sounds sweet. This V8 is very similar to Audi's 4.2L V8 engine in terms of sound and character - good old high-revving, naturally aspirated beasts. Gotta love 'em. Cheers.
Hey Matt some advice. Next time put a little bit of soapy water on the grommet where the exhaust bungs go. That will make it a lot easier with that grommet puller even though it looks fairly easy with the grommet puller
I had my AirPods on, was eating lunch at my desk at work when BAM...the exhaust falls and about blows my ear drums out. Not complaining, shows others that shit happens and most people edit it out (I've done it myself). Sounds so much better with this one, the other one like I said was to raspy.
Next time, flip the garbage can over to make a tall stool for Ry to stand on so he can stabilize one end while you fasten the other end. 😁 The fact that you include your little fail moments is why we love you, Matt. We’ve all been there! 👍
So, I'm watching this at work...the center section comes crashing down and I yell, "Oh my God!" Several people turn and say, "WHAT HAPPENED???" Me: "Well, there's this guy trying to install an exhaust system by himself....."
Sucks about dropping that on your ankle. Hope you're ok... I personally think it sounds great. Just enough raspy... Wouldn't hurt being a bit deeper. However it's not a big V8!
I personally liked the sound of the Vanguard exhaust that you had before. This setup and the EMS exhaust both have some top end rasp that doesn't sound as clean as the Vanguard version IMO.
Is the smell tolerable being fully catless? Am deciding to go fully catless but currently running test pipes with primary cat delete and the smell isn't too bad with secondary cats in tact.
Hey Matt very good sound test, and very relevant for me as I have an e90 very low Ks and am looking for certain changes but keeping it in line with what an e90 M3 is all about so looking forward to this journey. Have you thought to try the Aka Exhaust I love the very Euro sound and the quality is amazing let alone HP and Torque increases. Love to hear what you think
The Akra doesn't appeal to me. It is titanium that has a different resonant frequency. It is really expensive for that metal. That exhaust is much more about fit and finish than anything else. And they don't sound particularly good.
Yep they are expensive here as well and I am probably not going to godown that party but was interested in your thoughts. Anyway looking forward to see what you do next. Have been watching you for ages but just finally subscribed. I am located in Sydney in Australia 👍🇦🇺
E92 is my favorite m3 of all time but If you want car that sounds good without tons of work you should have gotten a w204 c63. Sounds great out of the box.
Obsessed Garage would you mind explaining cause i have an e92 m3 as well and i was looking into an IPE exhaust system and i'd love to hear your opinion on their products.
It takes real control not to curse when a exhaust comes crashing down on you 😂😂
Josh Veaughn no kidding!!!
I cursed for him lol
A ratchet strap can be your best friend when working alone and needing a third hand.love your vids
And here we are, once again as I knew we were going to be. I will be listening very close for any drone brother.
Now that exhaust note sounds awesome. It must feel great doing the work yourself and appreciate the final result. Thanx for the video
I think you nailed it , not to loud and you got rid of the rasp!
Yea a vertical transmission jack would help you a lot!
Great tool to have
That exhaust is so Steam Punk pretty 😍
The visual is better than new.
That pipe drop - although unfortunate - was quite a quality test proof of the peice.
Sounds way better than the first go around. I'm interested in hearing it under "normal" driving conditions. What do you think? Is this the one?
It's probably not the one, but it is pretty good.
Love it. This thing needs the wheels to make it look right! It just doesn’t quite look right yet! I know you’ll have it perfect soon
Matt what you need is in the industry called a “Dead Man” or officially an under hoist jack. They are super cheap and way more useful than the transmission jack you were talking about getting.
Oh god someone is going to make a meme of you with that exhaust... I’ll be waiting to see it in og core group 😂
You're so lucky the exhaust didn't fall on your head as well xD The car sounds sweet. This V8 is very similar to Audi's 4.2L V8 engine in terms of sound and character - good old high-revving, naturally aspirated beasts. Gotta love 'em.
Cheers.
stay safe Matt! glad you ok

The car sounds way better but its still not dialed in and do you realize you put your hands all over exhaust after you cleaned it ?
OMG nooooooooooo
The real Matt is back, great video. Well almost, this one is PG.
I didn't expect it to sound that much different from the Macht Schnell. It is a big improvement.
Dude, I wish I had the self control you have not to curse when things crash like that...you have a stellar even keel temperment.
That it. Any job with leftover parts will officially be called weight savings. Matt told me so! 👍😂
Sounds good Matt.
I have the Dinan midpipe and rear cans with Dinan xpipe tune. Best setup and sound for the s65 ever!!!!!
Next time, flip the garbage can over to make a tall stool for Ry to stand on so he can stabilize one end while you fasten the other end. 😁 The fact that you include your little fail moments is why we love you, Matt. We’ve all been there! 👍
Ha, ha... I need Ry there to help me.
ah fond memories of trying to fit my twin 3" exhaust, I vowed to never do mechanical work on it again after that fiasco lol sounds epic though
So much better!!! Keep!
Becareful, you might want to invest in a couple underhoist stands for safety Matt
Perfection sounds amazing Matt
sounds so much better
I like that one, Matt. Sounds great!
So, I'm watching this at work...the center section comes crashing down and I yell, "Oh my God!" Several people turn and say, "WHAT HAPPENED???" Me: "Well, there's this guy trying to install an exhaust system by himself....."
Ha, ha....
Love the exhaust obsession Matty!
If this isn't 'the one' … then what would be the alternative?
Do you have to remapped due to this setup ?? If Yes or No, what mapping do you think is the best ? Thanks
lol that intro, thought i was watching ur old e92 M3 video
I think the problem is the muffler. Highly highly recommend Corsa. Check out a few videos...
agreed
Sucks about dropping that on your ankle. Hope you're ok... I personally think it sounds great. Just enough raspy... Wouldn't hurt being a bit deeper. However it's not a big V8!
sounds great now
Dinan Intake next? I know you said you wanted Eventuri though.
I personally liked the sound of the Vanguard exhaust that you had before. This setup and the EMS exhaust both have some top end rasp that doesn't sound as clean as the Vanguard version IMO.
Sounds better now
Sounds good to me! Nice combo.
Sounds sooo good. keep it.
Is the smell tolerable being fully catless? Am deciding to go fully catless but currently running test pipes with primary cat delete and the smell isn't too bad with secondary cats in tact.
It's not too bad with the tune.
Here we go !
Sounds proper now
Sounds Killer !!! Great Job!!!
Now that's a nice sounding exhaust.
Anybody have any suggestions for a setup without any rasp? I want just pure v8 grunt and rumble
it sounded great...
How much did it cost you for this e92 m3, If you don't mind me asking?
$43,000
I dunno how you feel about it, as I'm 10 seconds in, but the intro sounds really good.
Damn Matt look out below..... That could have messed u up when it fell WOW

Most RUclipsrs would have titled this:
STRAIGHT PIPING my M3 (ALMOST DIED!)
Great video Matt.
Ha, ha... "Straight piped" with four resonators, an x-pipe, and two giant mufflers.
Obsessed Garage lol glad you aren’t like everyone else.
Now just need to put some MCS coilovers on it.
What brand is that lift?
I’m just surprised you didn’t polish it first! Jk, shop looks rad and that thing sounds even more rad
wow a bolt on exhaust that was actually bolt on, thats new!
Sounds good to me!
sounds great
Installing and uninstalling e9x m3 x pipes alone without a transmission jack is the bane of my existence.
Yep...
Much better!
Hope you are okay
I like it!
You should due a video with all your bloopers uncut version
This is uncut... lol
Just few of them
E92 is my favorite m3 of all time but If you want car that sounds good without tons of work you should have gotten a w204 c63. Sounds great out of the box.
Maybe akrapovic?
Nah...those sound even more raspy.
Next exhaust: straight pipes from the headers unreal sound. ruclips.net/video/xNO88Rga_iE/видео.html
Please do video's with Adam Lz again : ) miss those video : ' ) I wish you went to Japan with him.
3:11 holy shit
I still get the feeling you're not satisfied. I could be wrong.
I'm probably not, but that's how I roll.
I understand 100%.
Ouch!
Just get an Ipe and you’ll never regret it.
iPE is junk
Obsessed Garage would you mind explaining cause i have an e92 m3 as well and i was looking into an IPE exhaust system and i'd love to hear your opinion on their products.
Lmao omg exhaust comes crashing down... Done that before
Last time on Dragon Ball Z
#notamechanic
Am I first!!!
my supercharged e63 m6 would destroy this thing.
