Thanks for the speedy response. Unfortunately, my boss doesn't want (me) to take the time to do anything to it. I'll keep it for parts for the replacement atx, and to learn from. I will watch those videos, though.

where do you buy your transmission parts from
Allen asked a question and I saw no reply I am having the same issue. my 2007 Ford Escape will run just fine for about the first 20 minutes in every gear easy or pushing it hard then will shut off will not allow you to shift enter out of gear and the transmission will not respond turn the car off for a few minutes turn it back on and you can repeat the same process for about 20 minutes and is showing no codes will doing the shift kit fix repair this issue thank you for your time great job on the videos

Where can I get the bushing for the driverside axle that you talked about leaking in the video teardown of the CD4E. I cant find it anywhere not even ford sells it for that year. Mine is out of a 2005 Ford Escape 3.0L AWD.

Question if you don't mind. I have a 2002 Ford Escape V6 and the O/D light is flashing. I read that it is "probably" the 2-4 band. I think this is also known as an overdrive band. They mention replacing it without pulling the transmission completely out.
In your experience is that band a common cause of slipping out of gear and that it can be replaced fairly easily?

Hi Hiram Enjoying the video. The 6 Tribute V6 automatic 2 wd we have has a leak where the drivers side axle goes into the transmission. When I pulled the seal I noticed that the axle shaft seamed to be loose in the transmission. I'm thinking the bearing inside is starting to wear. After replacing the seal it still leaks. The shaft still seems to be loose. I don't know if the whole transmission has to come out or if that bearing alone is serviceable by removing part of the housing? I have a lift and do quite a bit of work myself but have never done anything on a transmission other than swapping one out. Any advise or pointing in the right direction would be helpful. Thank you!

Good morning, by accident when connecting the radiator, interchange the connection that comes from the transmission with the one that goes to the water and when starting the car the entire transmission is filled with water. It is a CD4E from a ford escape. Your opinion please. Should the entire transmission be disarmed? Or can you replace the oil?

having trouble with my 2002 ford escape transmission.
i put in drive and it moves very slow but when i put it on 2 it runs normal
hello guys, nice job on the videos! keep it up. are there two versions from the CD4E transmission (manual AND automatic)? i have issues finding manual transmission for my Ford Escape/Maverick from 2002. it is a 2.0L gasoline 4x4 wheel drive.
i've heard mazda tribute has the same transmission but i was wondering if there are other vehicles that have the same transmission. i would be very grateful if you can give me an advice where to purchase one. i'm located in europe. many thanks! :)

hiram!! Thanks for sharing a very value information, but I have a mazda 02 CD4E that it won't move at all. remove the transmisión and pull out the torque con verter and I find out the Long and skinny shaft is bend badly.What it can be the problem for this unit?

Hiram, for mechanics who are venturing into this for the first time, is there a way of how to organize and sequence your parts so we don’t get confused? as is there a trick to how to lay them down so you would know what you need to put in next?

Hey am from the Republic of TrinidadandTobago I've watched your video because am in search of answers on transmission problems. However heard you highlighted a problem with Soidnoid Valve... After doing a diagnostic check I found out the (16-line pressure soilnoid valve) is the problem... i wanna find out what is causing the problem and what should I do...And would this just prolong the life of the transmission temporarily...
I have a 2008 Nissan Y12 AD Wagon. The problem am having is when the gear is shifting from 1-2 the gear would go in hard, it feels like a buck every time i slow down and start back accelerating ..On advice of my mechanic I changed the mounts thinking the problem would stop... however it continued.when I did a diagnostic i found out its the line pressure solenoid...But most so called experts here say its best i buy a foreign used transmission and forget about it.. after looking at a lot of video i learned I can just change the solenoids but that's so expensive because you only get them new...Some told me just buy a valve body and replace the old one... what should i do. Then someone else told me buying a valve body is a gamble because it could stop working the next day. i really need my car to drive to school...

Transmission a 2002 FORD ESCAPE with
a 3 liter engine I need your professional
advised on what I will do after draining
the contaminated trans-fluid. I would like to replace the filter and put a degreaser
to clean inside without removing the valve
body and blow air inside. I don't want to take the risk of overhauling it myself I have
not performed any overhauling on auto-trans. What do you think.

Just flush the oil by removing one of the atf cooler lines before the radiator. Run the engine as you pour new atf in and have the contaminated atf run into a bucket thru a hose. get a helper to shut the car off as soon as clean/clear atf starts coming out. It takes quite a bit of atf to flush out. Replace radiator or put an external trans oil cooler and bypass the radiator cooler. I did this on a windstar and is still running good 30k+ miles after. i did change the filter before i flushed it.
Hello Hiram, I am having the hardest time trying to find the driver side cv axle support bushing for my 2002 ford escape. Ford is looking at me like I am crazy and the bushings I have ordered from transmission shops online are too big. Outside of the shaft measures 1.1545in. Id figured if anyone could help me would be you. Thank you in advance.
Hello! I am from Romania, I have a Mondeo Ford, with gearbox, from 2002, 2.0 benzine, and my problem is that the car does not leave the place. It just goes in reverse. Get in speed but just go back, it doesn't goes forward, just in reverse. I have changed the oil from gearbox after I had problems but in vain.The car just goes in reverse and get in speed but just go back, it doesn't goes forward. Please can you help with some advice!! What do you think is wrong? Thank you!

Please, please, at least put the parts on wooden blockes when you treat them. Don't trow the parts around as if they were junk. That doesn't pay off.
