Thank you Ruth, For the video of setting it up. I think I'm going to bring a little step stool with me because I think that's my problem with getting the top of it up I'm too short. Thanks again, Sheila
Wonderful video Ruth! Keep on making them. I really want to try car camping in my Edge this fall. I’m going to rewatch your video on that. Also, I’m going to check out what else you have been up to on RUclips! Safe travels!
Well I really enjoyed this video I'm going to share it with my sister we're talking about getting one of these a-liners we're thinking the one that's a little bit bigger because of her grandchildren you're awesome I can't wait to show her today
I thought the 30A breakers were already on when you switched them. 😁 I passed through the Oregon Coast in 17 traveling up the 101. Beautiful Coastline! 😎
The whole west coast is beautiful isn’t it? We’re so fortunate to live so close. I never know with those electrical towers, they’re all different. Thanks for watching Eugene 😊
I enjoy your videos. I just got an A-frane camper and I love it, so I'm watching all the videos I can find. I like how competent/cautious/organized you are--kindred minds! I mostly camp alone and I love it. Enjoy! Oh, I have those same cranberry throw pillows in mine, lol.
Congratulations on your A-Frame! I hope you are enjoying it 😊 I sure love mine. Thank you for your thoughtful comment, much appreciated. And there’s a lot to remember so it helps to be organized. Happy camping!!
Thanks, you’d be surprised how the springs and cords help the setup, pretty much goes up on its own. But you’d definitely want to test that out before you buy one. I did a lot of research and testing before I got mine.
Hi Ruth! I love your channel! I have an Aliner as well and I noticed you had a bar up top. Can you share what kind of bar you use? I’ve been looking into one and also adding a high wind kit. My is an older version that didn’t come with. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Hi! Thank you so much for the feedback. I don’t have an appropriate bar for the sidewalls, I use a shower rod but only for hanging clothes on. It’s not strong enough to protect the walls from collapsing in high wind. What I was told was to go to Home Depot and buy a painter bar, they are yellow and cost about $40… I need to do that. I just uploaded a video about a lesson learned on not having one. Had to leave camp because the wind got gusty. Congratulations on your Aliner!
I Love watching your videos! your videos make me miss home! I'm originally from Coos Bay. My sister is a camp host between Lakeside and North Bend. I believe her camp ground is called Rilyes Ranch. I also own a Aframe camper-bought it last year-mine doesnt have a wind kit like yours, it would come in handy!!
@@ruthtrips7391 I would love to bring my camper to OR. I live in MN now. I’ve lived in the Midwest since 1993. We thought we would maybe move back home, still might. My oldest daughter lives in Portland so it maybe a reality sooner or later.
You can buy a 110V outlet tester pretty inexpensively. It will tell you if the RV Park electrical is okay and you can also use to tell if the power is on or off
Yes! The High Liners were AMAZING! What a treat to stumble upon that troupe. I had more footage but had to limit my upload. I’m getting a lot better at backing up thanks 😂 If I decide to sell my Aliner I’ll keep you in mind!
Omg, it does run on the battery! No wonder my refrigerator didn’t get cold…. Oh well, lesson learned, I only spent the one night. Battery had a good charge and I had my ice chest 😅 I like the idea of using the outlet tester for those RV electrical posts that are not marked. Thanks!
No charge. That's what I'm here for. I bought my first trailer back in 81, when I was married. Had 2 more up through 93. Traveled quite a bit. Ended up having to change jobs, got rid of the trailer, no RV traveling after 93. Think I mentioned I plan on getting another one at some point. Still looking after my Mom and trying to finish renovating my house. After that I plan to get an RV and do some traveling, fishing, etc
I was the official driver for my Dad and stepmom the last few years they went out in their truck/trailer. He got to where he couldn't drive. So, the last time I drove for them was in 2019
I haven’t ever stayed in a very windy camp but I’ve stayed during rainy thunderstorms and that’s pretty cool. No leaking! But wind scares me because I’ve seen the pics of others that had the roofs blow back. I have all my bases covered now so it should be fine on a windy camp 👍🏻
Well I imagine the new ones are bigger and heavier, plus they have the Popup dormers… I’m sorry. Mine is a 2010 Sport, it’s only 10’ and 1000lbs. Very easy for this old weakling to manage 😊

Thanks Sheila, a little folding step is definitely helpful. I don’t always grab mine but it’s in there somewhere 😊 Happy camping, it’s almost time!!!
I hope you have a Merry Christmas Ruth
Happy Thanksgiving Ruth. I hope you have a great day

You’re so fun! I bet you rock the car camping!! Fall is perfect for it 😊 Happy camping!

Love the video. Learning so much thank you for sharing. I hope there’s more to come
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the comment!
I hope I can keep camping and keep sharing too!

I liked the information. I have a bad back , nice to see not hard to put up .

Did you install the level on the battery box or did you buy it like that? I absolutely love that!
Yes I added that level so I’d know while I was right there at the crank 👍🏻

I guess the Aliner is parked for the winter?

Aww, thanks Martha. Sorry you’re homesick, sounds like you need to bring your Aliner home for a visit 😊where are you living now?

Great idea! And I have one I just need to throw one in the Aliner!
Im really beginning to like those campers.
They are so easy to take out, perfect for casual weekends 😊 Thanks for watching!
Up there I'd try to stay in a state park. Oregon State parks are beautiful
I'm still planning on getting some sort of an RV. Don't know what or when yet. Still thinking
Thanks for the setup tutorial. Was amazing to see those folks walking the tightrope. How's your backing up skills coming?
Yes! The High Liners were AMAZING! What a treat to stumble upon that troupe. I had more footage but had to limit my upload.

@@ruthtrips7391 We've decided on a classic with hard dormers. Patiently waiting to find a good used deal !! Don't sell the Aliner!!!
I’ll probably keep my Aliner for my granddaughter lol, she’s only two now but they grow fast 😂
Doesn't that fan work on 12V?
I think it needs more power but maybe it does… maybe I actually turned the power off and I ran on battery all night LOL!

I'd rather stay in an RV than a hotel, any day
How exactly is it in the wind?
I haven’t ever stayed in a very windy camp but I’ve stayed during rainy thunderstorms and that’s pretty cool. No leaking! But wind scares me because I’ve seen the pics of others that had the roofs blow back. I have all my bases covered now so it should be fine on a windy camp 👍🏻
Whasst? I have a brand new Aliner and it does not pop up like that at all!
How does yours pop up?
It does not pop up after releasing the latches like your and it takes a mighty push to get them together at the top. But I am short and a weakling.
Well I imagine the new ones are bigger and heavier, plus they have the Popup dormers… I’m sorry. Mine is a 2010 Sport, it’s only 10’ and 1000lbs. Very easy for this old weakling to manage 😊
