i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me
@dr6zzy Don't see why a even a 100k rebuild is a problem for a petrolhead. A rotary engine is so simple compared to a piston engine and parts are relatively affordable here in Australia that is :P
I'd love the Coyote swap, when idling people would think I drilled my exhaust or something and that it's just a rice can, then I'd rev it and they would mess their pants haha.
and the miatas engine is just as reliable... just makes crap worth of power unless you know your shit and take the time to replace internals... but then it cost as much as a ls2 engine with a bit more horsepower then a stock ls2.... then you got to put crazy money to go higher and at that rate you paid for a full ls2 conversion with about 30% more power but that power acts way more crazy since at that range they power surge really bad like
That Honda K24 swap though. Keeps the same weight distribution, gives you an 8K redline and + 100 hp and still easy maintenance due to the smaller motor size.
I put a 13b in my miata Here are some pros and cons if you want to do that too Pros: Small, Powerful, Reliable if you treat it right, Mazda Engine, Smells good, Easy swap process, great Sound, can be used for daily driving Cons: People think its not reliable, it sometimes doesn't run good, Police Magnet,
Awesome vid! The one engine I'd definitely want to see swapped into a Miata (and to my knowledge never has been) is the 2.3 MZR DISI Turbo (the Mazdaspeed 3/6 engine). This would be really cool because you'd still be keeping it "all Mazda" like with the 13B. The MZR is a great powerplant too, and can easily support 450/380 @ the wheels on stock block with proper supporting mods, fuel, and turbo selection. When built, they can go north of 800whp. It really would be an amazing engine to put in a Miata.
Just put a Mazda L in it from a 2015+ Ford Focus RS.. it's a Mazda engine but it's a 400 horsepower 2.3 making over 23 mpg all day long. To me that would be a hell of a swap
Please no... The point of swapping is upgrading, not downgrading to a diesel engine that kids think is cool because they bought/painted an Ibiza white and then waste their time making their rearend go black with all the smoke, instead of getting a proper engine, and learning how to not drive like idiots, which is what I see from people with those engines/cars.
Anyone tried fitting it with a 2GR-FE? This engine is insane, popular with swappers, yet I haven't seen anyone putting it in a Miata. I'm thinking about this swap, but would like to see someone else execute it first :P
What engine would fit and would you suggest putting in a 1996 Mazda Miata mx5 ... They aren't refurbishing anymore 1995-1997 engines and salvage yards aren't working they all break within a couple of weeks.
I would either turbo charged the stock engine or put in a Sr20det if you want to stay turbo. If you want NA, your best choice is Honda's s2000 f20/f22c
@@MTLJack thanks but I don't have the engine anymore. It died and I got a replacement and it died. There aren't anymore engines for. 1995-1997 and Mazda isn't making or refurbishing anymore. So if you could tell me the cheapest engine that would work with no problems I'd appreciate it. Would you suggest an engine kit?
You could , anything is possible but good luck finding a RWD transmission and convert the srt4 into rwd configuration.... too much customs for ntg. You are better off putting a Nissan sr20det which is basically same concept as srt4.
I would nor recommend the SR20DET. It's only gonna get you 25 more hp than the stock miata engine, and it will throw of the 50-50 weight distribution... Not worth it
What’s the weight difference between them? I know Chelsz H is doing an sr20det swap but I wouldn’t think that if your doing that kinda swap you would be putting a stock SR engine
Alright so a stock s13 sr20det (205hp 203tq) is going to make about 100 extra horsepower and torque over a stock miata from the 90's (virtually no one is going to use a brand new miata as their platform). A stock s14 (220hp 203tq) will get you 120 extra over a miata and an s15 (250hp 203tq) will get you 150 extra over a miata. Here's what you can make with each engine on the stock turbo from installing bolt-ons increasing boost pressure and tuning the car. s13 ~280hp (250 at the wheels, ~230tq at wheels) s14 ~300hp (270 at the wheels, ~250tq at wheels) *tq should be higher than I listed if the person did any porting/edging/opening of the valve bowls on the cylinder head* s15 ~330hp (300 at the wheels, ~270tq at wheels) Since s13's are cheapest, people tend to run those, do bolt ons, get a good tune and a larger turbo (Garrett GT2871R) and reliably make up to 350 wheel horsepower on an internally stock sr20det safely as well as having the advantage of being less costly to make considerably more horsepower than stock when compared to other popular brands like Honda. This has been done reliably for decades. There's a lot of idiots out there, regardless of engine, who choose to cut corners on the most important part of a build (which should be done with every used engine that's going to be used for a build) and opt to not disassemble the engine, they choose to not clean the engine as they don't completely disassemble it, they make the mistake of not measuring tolerances as well as not inspecting key components (if any) for failure or signs of impending failure and lastly they skip doing a full engine gasket and seal rebuild (replacement). The guys that do this are the ones who will tell you X engines are crap when in reality they didn't take the steps necessary to take for any and every engine swap for the purpose of modification/power gains. To that I say "play stupid games, get stupid prizes!" My SR20 swap is in it's 5th year now with it being my every day driver whether it's 120 outside where I attended a trade school, or it's -10,20,30 (I don't go out when it's -40-60 with windchill) where I live in my home state. It's been used to drive from minnesota to arizona and back, it's been raced on multiple occasions and driven hard. No issues. Proper build. They truly are great engines.
All-purpose flour Yes, I know Audi used to make a 2.2l inline 5 turbo. They were used in all their rally cars. VW still makes a 2.5 inline 5. It’s a euro thing. One day I want to swap one in a miata. Or a vq motor in a miata...
Stock miata trans and diff. I'm looking to do the swap on my NB. On my spread sheet the total adds up to just north of 8500 for what I want to do to my car. Theres more info on Kmiata.com
Kmiata makes an adapter to use the stock 5 or 6 speed Miata trans, or you can use a BMW trans out of the e46 3-series or M3... but that gets real pricey real quick.
Where is the Mazda F2T engine out of the gd chassis mx6gt, 626gt, and probegt/telstars? It's literally the next step up Mazda engine. 2.2l sohc Turbo, generally makes more torque than hp, and can put 500 whp on stock internals!

s13 ~280hp (250 at the wheels, ~230tq at wheels)
s14 ~300hp (270 at the wheels, ~250tq at wheels) *tq should be higher than I listed if the person did any porting/edging/opening of the valve bowls on the cylinder head*
s15 ~330hp (300 at the wheels, ~270tq at wheels)
Since s13's are cheapest, people tend to run those, do bolt ons, get a good tune and a larger turbo (Garrett GT2871R) and reliably make up to 350 wheel horsepower on an internally stock sr20det safely as well as having the advantage of being less costly to make considerably more horsepower than stock when compared to other popular brands like Honda. This has been done reliably for decades. I would rather buy an mx5 NB with the 2.0 of the nc
Ca18det mine
What 2jz SINGLE TURBO???
Some technical data would have been nice.
Sorry bout your apex seals, brah.
The first car seriously needs a lsd or a locked diff, this was so sad
Gasper Erjavec wait why was it sad?
you can clearly see one tire spin faster then the other sometimes and a proper diff would solve that
Only reason I say that is because I know the guy and he has a welded diff so I'm not sure how you get more lock than that 🤣
Built solely for drifting, is not driven on the road (except for this video), and is trailered to every event before someone bashes on the welded diff
lol, doesn't look that way at all. look 0.36s it totally looks like a weak lsd :) its nice to see you protect your bf online, you miata guys are the best :)
OMG it's impossible that they could fit a 5.0 V8 inside the hood
Javi Hidalgo as crazy as it may sound it’s very possible since the engine placement area is pretty large for even a small car. Also LS engines in particular aren’t that big of engines either :)
Ok hear me out. Has anyone ever done an e46 m3 motor swap into a Miata? Seems like that would be a fun car.
Yea but it's bmw, wiring is always the tough part
Is this a NFS Heat reference?
