- The most common problem I have run across is a leaking fill valve on the C5 1997-2004 Chevy Corvette, here is what you need
Core set amzn.to/3gLfLqQ
This is an entire refill pack with the gauge I use amzn.to/3gWdOHW
You may need some extra cans though... amzn.to/3adkfnz
Can adapter amzn.to/3iuwdMm
Vacuum pump to clear the system, however, I must confess I have recharged a lot of systems without problems and without pulling a vacuum but recommended amzn.to/2CetFCK

Great info & video Brian
The valve should have a cap fitted BTW.
Thank you and yes... had to order 1. It was MIA on this Vette.
Thanks, this video really helped me out.
Excellent, I'm here to help!
Don't you ha e to put a vacuum on the system after you replace schrader valve?
You can use a core replacement tool that you would not have to... if there is no pressure left in the system yes, over 1 psi no...
How do you remove the valve?

I got a big chill bottle and the gauge stays on “see instructions “ I’m not sure why and the pulley spins when i turn on the a/c
The compressor may spin as it detects a min. low pressure, but may kot be enough to cool, just enough pressure to spin the compressor. So it is the new Big Chill with the digital display? Return it and get something that has a real gauge...
@@GarageMahalLife yes I’m going tomorrow to return it and I’m going to get the a/c pro bottle . I think the the click doesn’t fit well on my corvette and that’s why it’s doing that
@@pacsoulpavon9649 Sounds good 👍
@@GarageMahalLife I got the a/c pro with the gauge and it is still in the red zone where it say “see instructions “ maybe a hvac fuse is out ?
@@pacsoulpavon9649 Pkay, if you are in the red a couple of things...
1. make sure your schrader pin valve is not broken on the charge port.
2. You could be over charged and need to vac/drain some refrigerant out of the system.
3. Your compressor is bad... which is probably my best guess, site unseen.
That engine looks dirty
Some people like it dirty 😉
