    Wow! First time I've seen this since we supplied the brick for the hotel complex. Isenhour Brick & Tile Co. in Salisbury, NC got the order to supply an "undetermined" amount of brick. It was sorta on a "pay as you go" plan. As money came in for the $1000 donations another floor would be added. The Bakker's and Roe Mesiner picked out our No. 850 Old Berkshire color. In the early stages of the mid 80's things were doing fine and then the checks started to bounce. We demanded cash payment for each truck load of brick delivered. One time the truck came back with no cash and brick were brought back. The reason you see bricks falling down is the walls were not built to code for a high rise like this. I can see at 1:18 they used penny nails to tie the bricks to the concrete walls instead of the corrugated steel straps. Also looks like residential mortar used instead of commercial grade mortar. There were lots of corners cut to cut the cost of this building. That's probably one reason the current owners are having trouble getting permits to complete it. When a building not built to code goes decades in an unfinished state, corrosion sets in especially in metal that is exposed. Any plumbing or electrical that was done would not pass codes today. It would be cheaper to tear it down and start over.

    PTL is the only place I ever had a bicycle stolen. The whole enterprise was rotten from the top down, even before it became a pyramid scheme. When the gold fixtures in Bakker's house came to light, at the same time they were expecting employees to work for sub-minimum wages, a lot of people I knew who worked there started to quit, having seen the light. A few weeks later, it came out that Jim had seen the vagina and the whole thing started to crumble.

    • @wishusknight3009
      @wishusknight3009 8 месяцев назад

      I would argue it was a pyramid scheme right from day one. Bakker has been a swindler since his teens.

    Looks like I did. Let me re-check..... yup, I did ask that. If you watch the video, it wasn't shown nor mentioned how the cameraman got inside. Did he crawl through an opening in a fence? Was he permitted entry through an open door? It seems like a perfectly rational question to me.

    Not sure on what to do with an abandoned building whether to be torn down or some construction company would purchase the building and to have the hotel remodeled and to complete it?

      I have often wondered the same thing, I would LOVE to see it restored. But I guess the cost of restoring is too much, and nobody seems to want to pay for it to be torn down. So it's just stuck in limbo. Very sad!

I was threatened with excommunication by the security directors wife (also in security, obviously nothing shady there) when I was 12. The most I ever did was normal kid stuff like hanging out by the lake after dark. The organization there is totally money hungry, very little of it is about God.

      @Edge Lord(open): Loking at this video, and looking at your story, it just goes to show from Psalm 127, verse 1: "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it." If the motivation isn't indeed God and His interests, then it'll just fall apart.
