Thank you for showing where PTL recorded their show. Heritage USA was quite large. I guess they intended it to be a small city within itself. I actually met Tammy Baker back in 86". I was assistant manager at a clothing store in San Bernardino California. On a saturday, here walks in a tiny woman with a small entourage. She did wear alot of makeup and she definitely stood out. But she was very sweet and loved her southern accent. I knew she and Jim had a place in Palm Springs; ca. Maybe she was on her way there. A sweet pretty lady.
It looks nothing like I remember. I see some glimpses that look familiar but I was so young its hard to tell. I remember the barn and the waterpark. I barely remember the tower. They used to have a huge lights display a christmas. Thanks for filming this Tony. Havent seen this since I was a kid. This takes me back.
My husband and I were engaged in the Upper Room and had our honeymoon at the Grand Hotel and the next year I worked at Ye Olde Bookstore. So many Christians wanted to rebuild Heritage USA when Jim and Tammy had left. Sadly Hurricane Hugo in 1989 really did a lot of damages at Heritage USA.
The PTL years. We had to leave the house on Sunday because my mother would confiscate the tv on Sunday to watch Jim and Tammy and the whole group of televangelists. We all knew PTL and Heritage was a scam, but not my mom. Glad I got to see it, thanks!
Had heard about this years ago but never really understood what the deal was! Very interesting stuff and great to see you with Adam the woo and newly found to me Scott on tape! Think you both did a great job covering this!!
"Three FREE nights" for $1000??? That's really $333.33 a night!!! Even if they had enough rooms to accommodate all the memberships they sold, that's still RIDICULOUS, especially when you consider that was back in the 70's - 80's. Such a scam.
I live in lancaster sc, I had no idea it was sn actual place you can visit. I used to hate them both but after all she went thru, I feel different about Tammy Fay. Bless her heart and may she RIP
I did love the puppets and had the record albums when I was little, but never got to go to the park...I ran into Tammy Faye at Sweet Union Flea Market In Monroe N.C. once, she was very nice.
I'm another new subscriber that discovered your channel when you appeared in one of Adam's videos. I'm glad I have another interesting travel/history related channel to watch as I really enjoy this type of content. Good stuff.
As a teen/ young adult in the 70's & 80's I had heard of Heritage USA, but never went..even living in NC my entire life. Great video Tony!! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Tell Scott that for being a Canadian, he got the "y'all" perfect!! lol
This is very very interesting Tony I’ve only heard about stories about this place but interesting fact is that Jim Bakker is from my part of Michigan he actually grew up in West Michigan and lived in Muskegon his family is buried here and his childhood home is here I’ve actually made a video of his childhood home and where some of his family is Buried at here in West Michigan
I used to have season passes I swear it was around past 89’ cause I was only 3 then and was going in the 90s it was called Carolina splash which I can’t find much about. I have my season pass still somewhere in a photo box. And remember going down that giant slide 100s of times.
DELIVERANCE 2022 the YEW TOOB version. Starring: AdamTheWoo as Burt "Because it's There" Reynolds and Featuring: ScottOnTape as Jon "Pretty Mouth" Vought and Introducing: CarolinaTony as Ned "Squeal Like aPig" Beatty. - Coming to a Basement Film Festival near you soon.
I wasn't allowed to watch the PTL show but, I did hear about Jim and Tammy Fay Baker. I heard they got into some legal problems. This was just cool 😎 to see the site. I'm glad someone else owns it now. Thanks for sharing this video 📹.
Don't know what the raspberry you did was for , but it was unnecessary. If it was what I think it was, remember God will not be mocked! I went there once in the early 80's and it was so nice to go to a place where smoking, profanity and such was not allowed. PTL was a place for Christians to go to and enjoy being surrounded by other Christians in a Christian atmosphere. The people that worked there were all so nice, loved the little shops that was in the Main Street USA building. I never contributed to PTL money wise nor did I watch Jim Bakker preach, because I felt he was not doing what he should have been as a minister. The only thing I did watch was Tammy Faye's show and loved to hear her sing. When you visit all these places you do you should talk to the locals and then you can get a true sense of them instead of either no one to guide you or those that ''think'' they know the history of the places.
What in the world are you talking about. Raspberry.?? If it was in reference to the ending. Did you not hear me get my words mixed up. Don't never accuse me of mocking God. I never have and never will.
I hope you enjoy this video. These guys are awesome to work with.
Great video Tony!
Had a fun day hanging out . Such an Interesting place
Thanks for the steps. I've surpassed my yearly goal. Lol

I used to go to the bookstore to buy CD's and books when I visited Heritage USA. You may have rang my order up a time or two.

Nice vlog Tony! Looks like you guys had fun.
Great tour!👍💕😊
Thanks for visiting
We paddled on small paddle boats around the lake back in the late 80s.
The PTL years. We had to leave the house on Sunday because my mother would confiscate the tv on Sunday to watch Jim and Tammy and the whole group of televangelists. We all knew PTL and Heritage was a scam, but not my mom. Glad I got to see it, thanks!

Good job
The auditorium where you were inside is not where they filmed the show. That is where church services were!

And I think that was life time.
I think it was like a time share
Great work. Enjoyed the video .a look back in the days of Jim and Tammy days.❤

That's amazing. Somehow I just can't see Tammy Faye at a flea market.lol
There were small paddle boats on the lake because my husband and I pattled all around the lake and also fed the ducks on the shore.
Loved seeing the three of you in this video! Great Job guys.
🕶✌
😎 Thank you

I will when I see him next
The lake didn't have a paddleboat, but people did waterski on the lake.

What a weird part of our history. And Baker is still at it with his food buckets.
What a mess that was for sure

Yes it was a total mess and Jim Baker went to jail. He got out and started another TV show.
