This bat rep made me much more likely to watch your content. The ladies' camaraderie, sportsmanship, and presentation style was fantastic and refreshing surprise from so much other content on RUclips. I'm not a current AoS player, but 4th edition has me ready to take the plunge. Bridger is at his best on this side of the camera.
Loved everything about that! Bridger back behind the desk, Linda & Dr Mel not behind the desk, shiny new graphics, AN UNDERPUPPER!!! Getting hyped for AoS now, thanks Titans! :D
@TabletopTitans hahaha I know, right? I have the Yndrasta Stormcast spearhead painted up (because I'm a basic Stormcast player lol) and Daughters of Khaine for my partner (they wanted "the sexy ones") and there are so many other Spearheads I want! 😭
Spearhead is such a blast. Small-scale game, single box cost-of-entry, quick. While it lacks the customization of the full-scale game, it's a great way for people to dip their toes into other factions, and even get a full warband assembled and painted in reasonable time. It will make a great tournament format, but also a great way for stores to kick off the launch of AoS 4.0 to get new players involved.
In AoS 4 and Spearhead, you take D3 damage when you retreat from combat UNLESS you have an ability or card that allows you to retreat without taking damage
I’m getting my Sylvaneth built as I’m watching this video! My lgs is having a Spearhead tournament/Painting competition, and I can’t wait to field my trees for the first time! I love how excited everyone is for both factions!
AoS is BACK BABYYY!!! Awesome to see the ladies enjoy Spearhead, thank you and please play more of it :D Maybe this is the time I can introduce my friend to the game after showing her this video xD
Loved the game and energy . Just a heads up for rules for game set up: Roll off to find out who is attacker and defender. Then in order: 1. Attacker picks regiment ability and enhancement first. 2. Defender chooses which board side to use and territories. Then sets up first terrain feature followed by attacker until all place (2 large and 2 small) terrain cannot touch objective zones. Then. Attacker sets up their entire army, followed by defender. Attacker chooses who goes first do not roll off. Also does this before twist and battle cards have been drawn. There is no underdog turn one.
Cheers! We though about walking through this but decided to have it ready to roll when the stream started, theres a lot of interesting decisions happening in deployment
Great to see some spearhead played keep it up, I'm getting the seraphon spearhead I love dinosaurs riding dinosaurs so will be getting plenty more after that. Just a reminder of a difference between AOS and 40k, you alternate fighting even if you charged so first turn for example after the tree lord went the kroxigor or saurus warriors should have been next which might have saved those poor scaly boys
I've watched this 2 times already. I love seeing the ladies play. My partner and I are really the only women here that play and the FLGS guys aren't very happy when we show up to play. 😢 We are watching yhis again while we assemble and paint our new Spearheads! Thank you for this fun Battle Report!
Nice video. Note. Spearhead doesn’t use the Magic Advanced rules, so even if the Seraphon player did have a wizard, they wouldn’t be able to attempt to stop (unbind) the Sylvaneth spell casting.
Wound pool stays. On the Unit that had one eaten. Retreat can not be through a foe unit. Can it? To move a model, first trace a path over the surface of the battlefield showing the route the model will travel. You can trace the path in any direction or combination of directions, as long as it does not pass through other models or over the edge of the battlefield, and as long as the length of the path is not greater than the distance the model is allowed to move. Then, move the model along the path to the new location. You can pivot the model freely as you move it along the path. No part of the model’s base can pass across the base of another model or over the edge of the battlefield, and at the end of the move no part of the model’s base can be further from its starting location than the distance the model is allowed to move.
Never thought I'd get so hungry watching a battle report. "Grilled cheese style" layout and "Kroxigor/Carnosaur sandwich" (Which btw you should copyright it and make a T-shirt or something). Great video! hope you do more AoS.
Not gonna lie.. I always thought these spearhead games can't be fun with that low amount of units and space.. But if each game of spearhead is like in this Batrep.. I understand the hype Really cool Batrep! Definetly enjoyed watching it!
Take without warning. Could get by shooting the enemy unit to manageable size I guess. Also one might be able to charge unit so that you stay just out of contest range and kill them that way? But yea with new smaller objectives tough one.
Haven't finished watching yet, but in combat on Seraphon turn 2 the Kurnoth Hunter could have piled in so that it was within 3" of terrain in order to strike and fade at the end of turn. Or is that an optional ability you didn't take? Also, Mel seems to have misread the Branchwych's spell: it brings back either one model to any unit, or D3 Tree-Revenants - it's potentially confusing because Tree-Revenant is bolded so it looks at first glance as though it only affects that unit. So she could have brought back a Kurnoth Hunter. Also, I'm pretty sure that throughout the combat on turn 2 the Kurnoth Hunters and Treelord both had a 6+ ward thanks to Envoys of the Everqueen, as the Hunters were contesting the Dracothion objective.
agree. I am sure many of the best Sylvaneth abilites were missed or not used. Hardly seen any strike-and-fade. which not only could have been used by the Kurnoth hunter, but she could also have chosen her Branchwych after the fight near the terrain piece on her own terrain. Moving the general to the objective in the back of the Seraphon territory, would have kept the general alive for much longer probably.
Pretty generous of the Sylvaneth to run their ranged unit into combat and play without using their battle traits even a single time. I imagine teleporting and healing would have helped in this spearhead that's based around teleporting and healing.
With Lindsay's terrain placed against the line theres not much room to teleport since you have to be within 3" of terrain and more than 6" of enemy models
Was thinking the same, but it was very hard to see from the camera angle. But I have seen a lot of measuring mistakes. I think it is all part of the learning process of playing AoS. Also the Sylvaneth army was way too static, They should have been teleporting all over the board with S&F and Walk the hidden path. Also did not see much healing going on from using the terrain pieces. At least the KH should have healed, and if the Treelord wasnt in range, he should have ben moved with a pile in to get in range of the terrain. That would have healed him enough to have survived that jaw-attack that killed him now.
Btw as for where the eyes are for your carnosaur, it doesnt have any. You used the head for the troglodon. Troglodons are subterranian and thus dont need any eyes to do what they need to do.

The battle reports with Mel and Lindsay are my favourite!!
Yeah! It felt like playing with my friends, just a relaxed game, loved the style of it
Just a answer to the eyes for the dino. Troglodons do not have eyes . I know its a carnosaur but just fun aos fact.
Love Spearhead and Love Mel and Linda playing - good vibes time!
Their enthusiasm is infectious!
I’m just glad yall finally brought back AoS
Loved everything about that! Bridger back behind the desk, Linda & Dr Mel not behind the desk, shiny new graphics, AN UNDERPUPPER!!! Getting hyped for AoS now, thanks Titans! :D
Thanks for the kind words! Sigmar Hype!
Love those Sylvaneth models! Always willing to watch an AoS game as a 40k player :)
Glad to hear it! Always fun to see something different
God bless your
You should uhhh just play AoS
Awesome to see a Spearhead game between forces other than the ones in the new box. I'm so hype for this mode!
Theres too many cool armies in this game!
@TabletopTitans hahaha I know, right? I have the Yndrasta Stormcast spearhead painted up (because I'm a basic Stormcast player lol) and Daughters of Khaine for my partner (they wanted "the sexy ones") and there are so many other Spearheads I want! 😭
@@KateHolden Yndrasta is awesome! I like that they are self contained, manageable hobby projects too

I love seeing AoS on the channel again
I absolutely love the paint job on the Seraphon. It is striking and also so grounded.

I just bought Sylvaneth recently. Looking forward to play with it. Great video ladies. Was fun to watch.

Oh haha some 40k instincts kicking in there
Reminds me of the beautiful quote from my favorite vampire movie:
It's sigmaring time
A yes a classic quote

This is incredible quality!!!
D'aww thanks!

Great BR! Also Spearhead looks good so far, hope the spearhead boxes end up being balanced enough against each other
Thanks! Apparently they are very balanced, though we obviously havent paired them all up yet

Both armies are gorgeous and it's awesome just how much fun everyone is clearly having! Love the content and looking forward to more AoS 4th edition!

Love watching your battle reports! Thanks so much!!!
Really enjoyed your spearhead games, can’t wait to get my hands on the rules. These 2.5 weeks can’t end soon enough!
Right? Super excited for new Sigmar!
Those Sylvaneth are dope! (Also as someone who made my own Raptadons into Cassowaries, can confirm they look good that way)
All praise sig-monday. So excited to see sigmar back on the table
Likewise, thanks Jack!

Awesome Battle Report! I loved the vibe and banter between friends! I’m excited to see more dinos 🦖 also the underdog graphic was very cute
Dropped a like! Here's to AoS content 😊 Let's see a full game next (not spearhead)
Love that paint job for the seraphon units! Any chance of a video on how to do that scheme, or at least a breakdown of the paints you used?
Woo, my two favourite AOS factions!
Oh perfect then!
Take without warning. Could get by shooting the enemy unit to manageable size I guess. Also one might be able to charge unit so that you stay just out of contest range and kill them that way? But yea with new smaller objectives tough one.
Yeah you have to get clever with it unless you draw it at the right time, very interesting
For the kornoth hunters are we able to switch then with swords or scythe?
For spearhead its sadly fixed as bows, though honestly 1k games are really fun and have a similar vibe
@@TabletopTitans ah tragic but still looks fun
More spearhead with these 2 pls!
I love how the big dino looks like an Anjanath :D
Yes!
Just getting into aos. Thank you for such a fun battle report
Please MUCH more sigmar
You got it!
What inch or cm are the Spearhead object fields.
I would also like to make it myself.
loved all the food references. Definitely gonna start using deployment grilled cheese style.
Also I do have a question if anyone knows. Are the vanguard boxes just an old name for spearhead?
Yep they are the same sets and the old vanguard are still valid
Thank you, merci!
@@nathanlemoire1866 De rien!

I subscribed strictly because of the eyeballs thing, also because that model is not a carnosaur and I stan

got most of the StD Warcry bands, so where pretty sad that they went the way of the Legends, BUT i can still use them for D&D.
I think the Sylvaneth walked directly into 3” combat range with the Seraphon on turn 1. Wouldn’t have really affected anything though.
Nice thank you, need more spearhead
Pretty generous of the Sylvaneth to run their ranged unit into combat and play without using their battle traits even a single time. I imagine teleporting and healing would have helped in this spearhead that's based around teleporting and healing.

Love the AoS Content! So excited for 4th
That underdog graphic is incredible.
Because of 3” combat range I think the Carnosaur was in combat at the start of turn 3.
Was thinking the same, but it was very hard to see from the camera angle. But I have seen a lot of measuring mistakes. I think it is all part of the learning process of playing AoS. was this filmed just before lunch? xD so many food references out the gates
Great game, the ladies smashed it, FEC please
We NEED those new FEC, so cool!
Monday in the mortal realms??? Is it back!?
Sigmar is baaack! Though we are playing this Sunday rather than monday lol
Stoked for AoS!
Yes Sigmars back!
Sigmar time!
Let’s go, love these two armies
Thank you!
Looks so fun! When will the vanguard rules be released?
It took me far too long to notice the underdog 😂
Underpuppersss!
Not super interested in spearhead batreps, but I can't wait to see your 4th edition batreps!
Thanks! They're coming soon!
The eye thing is because it's the troglodon head which is blind and has atrophied eyes
Give us more AoS!
Thx for this battrep!!
Awesome looking armies
Can you play 2x5 Saurus Warriors instead of 1x10 in Spearhead mode?
They are in 2x groups of 1x5. You cant run 1x10
leaf versus lizard
Time to change the thumbnail
What a fun game!!!
AoS is back?!
An amazing game
BRUAAAAHH (yell of aaffection)
You didn't build a carnosaur, you built a troglodon which is a mount for a skink wizard, They are both built from the same kit.
She wanted to use the Troglodon head and since the rider is clear there's no confusions so all good!
Moar aos plz
You got it!
Btw as for where the eyes are for your carnosaur, it doesnt have any. You used the head for the troglodon. Troglodons are subterranian and thus dont need any eyes to do what they need to do.
So many ruile mistakes that it is painful to watch.
2hours? yea nope... make it 30-45mins like everyone else
You have built a troglodyte not a carnesaur!
