Always check ground 1st...even on cars/trucks, they cause a lot of problems. Did you use the meter I gave you, or the test light? You can check continuity with the meter. Also consider soldering and use shrink wrap. You can also shrink wrap the screws on the plug to help keep the corrosion down. Good video, y'all are doing great!
Did you farm tag it? By my understanding for dot if it is farm tagged you don't have to have a cdl to pull over 16k lbs. If you find out if that's true or not let me know please.

Yes it is farm plated. As far as the weight limit I believe it’s good as long as truck and trailer combined doesn’t exceed 26k lbs
